Went on Friday with a heavy bleeding…

Went on Friday with a heavy bleeding pet to see a vet. He prescribed medication and said make at the reception an urgent appointment for surgery. The pet has bad teeth and 6 teeth have to be removed by surgery. So, the lovely receptionist gave me an appointment for 10 days later!!!
luckily the vet came and gave me an available appointment for Monday. no need to wait 10 days. Cody was unable to write my name or address correctly, nor to greet us.
saturday the bleeding was so bad that we had to go back. suddenly it was nothing wrong with the teeth; it was a mouth ulcer! so, a different medication was prescribed.
So, monday we went again, same receptionist. Again, could not be bothered to say hello. I asked for a worming pill for my other pet and how much it would be. Her answer: £52 vet + £12 for the pill.
another blood test was taken.
When I spoke with Claire, it became clear, that again that lovely receptionist could not or did not want to give me the right price or do her job.

Whilst Claire is a good vet, we will register with another vet, where clients are being treated respectfully and not being pestered away by a frustrated person at the reception, who seems to hate her job and will run down this practice.

£500 and NO results.

a rip off practice.

The most amazing practice

I wanted to share my experience with Sleaford Vets, as I honestly can't recommend them highly enough—they’ve been absolutely outstanding.
Our first visit was with a foster cat I was caring for through Cats Protection, Mog. He required dental surgery and several follow-up appointments. Throughout, the staff were exceptional. Abigail in particular was incredibly caring and made the whole experience feel reassuring and compassionate.
More recently, my own cat Brie visited the practice. Sadly, after her consultation, it was clear that it was time to say goodbye. It was a deeply emotional and difficult moment, but Claire’s compassion and support brought immense comfort. I’ll never forget her kindness.
During that final appointment, Claire and Natasha were both present. Natasha kindly offered to take my little boy for a tour of the practice, allowing my husband and me the space and time to be with Brie in her final moments. It meant the world.
Their care didn’t stop there. I wasn’t overwhelmed with paperwork or an invoice straight away, which gave me time to process everything. When I returned to collect Brie's ashes, Lynne at reception—who has always been a friendly and supportive presence—was, once again, just wonderful.
I’ve never experienced such genuine empathy and support from a veterinary practice. We’re forever grateful to the whole team at Sleaford Vets. Thank you, truly.

This is a very friendly practice

This is a very friendly practice. Everybody was very considerate and it was very clear that my cat was taken very good care of. I feel very comfortable bringing her here and am happy to recommend the practice to others.
