Whoever MI is said I’m not allowed to say they didn’t try on my other review - excuse me but I’m free to say what I want and all of what I’ve said is true! You and your team are incompetent and just immoral humans.
Stayed at Aequora Lanzarote from 15–19 August in a family suite. Had the worst experience in among all my travels. Want to give it a minus star but Google forces a 1.
Standing as a 4 star resort we expected to have a great time at this hotel but they with a manager whose favourite line is we cannot meet your expectations what can one expect?
Check-in and key information
The lady who checked us in ran through a bunch of information quickly but failed to tell us that there was a restriction on dinner timing and that we needed to come back to reception for towels (really silly because there is a cabana next to the pool). They didn’t tell us that all inclusive had different levels. How can it when literally in the name is ALL!!!
Room and upkeep
The air conditioning didn’t work when we arrived. We had to call reception multiple times to have someone come to our suite. The technician showed us the air filters. Yuck!!!!! 🤢 He himself was shocked at how disgusting it was. This should be taken care of before we arrived.
Dining
The restaurant experience was the worst of the lot.
Our purple wristband was for the early time so we should go back to reception to get a red band. These guys love reception a lot. Why didn’t she tell us at check in when she told us what the whole dinner slot was? Waste of time.
This buffet restaurant doesn’t know how to cater vegetarian food. In fact if you have any allergies I recommend not going here at all because they just don’t want to try. There was no labels for any of the food. Paella couldn’t be made veg - it’s rice based. Are you kidding me? They’re not proud enough of their culture to care. Some of the staff were helpful but others were downright appalling.
Customer Service - non existent
We raised these issues directly with the customer service manager. He came to have a conversation in our suite. He was defensive at every turn. Eventually, after speaking with the GM, he gave us a meal that evening fixed at 7.50pm. Told us we could go by 8pm to the one à la carte restaurant for one meal. We said they have limited food to which he said they can make something off menu for us.
The head waiter at the restaurant was so up himself. When we arrived at 8pm he showed us his watch and said it’s 8pm. He said we have other reservations you know. That restaurant had three tables occupied that evening and that was less than 50% occupancy. This did not increase when we passed by later. The manager told us 8pm was fine but didn’t convey to his own staff. They were so rude we left without eating. What an embarrassment for the hotel. We had to spend €80 outside having dinner even though we paid for all inclusive.
The customer service manager told us he was going to ask us to leave as he cannot meet our expectations and refund us. On an island like that the prices of another hotel last minute even he knew would be extortionate and said so himself. I said to him we will leave if you kick us out and wanted it in writing. To which he changed his tune and said it’s because we’re unhappy and not getting what we need there. When speaking he constantly interrupted any one of us. We let him complete his sentences but he could not afford us the same courtesy. What service is this? Threatening us to go and then saying no it was just an option means you will say anything. You weren’t even willing to try.
I hated it so much I was happy to return home. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Don’t go if you want to relax.
