We had fantastic weather, and a superb couple of days. From the 'guiding perspective' I appreciated the rapid and well judged calibration of what we were and weren't going to be able to do, and the 'management' of what we would wisely keep in, and exclude in the traverse - a good balance of 'challenge' and 'operating within our comfort zone’. This awkward judgement was made quickly with skill and sensitivity. Communication was excellent throughout, clear, timely, direct and sensitive as required. A well judged level of sociable-ness .. accessible, uncontrived, entertaining, and interesting. Excellent logistical overall management of the traverse (time, water, rope use etc). My colleagues 'unwellness' issue was also handled very well.

When I spoke to Nate back in February he took the time to listen about what I wanted to achieve and he suggested a few options, we agreed on a plan to achieve the goals and I was all booked! Easy.
I arrived in Skye in May and was met by Harrison my guide for the week, Harrison was friendly relaxed and very knowledgeable, over the next four days he took me up 8 of the 11 munros on Skye with skill, patience and plenty of banter.
I thoroughly enjoyed the week and thanks to the team I managed to achieve everything I wanted to, they really were great.
I would strongly recommend these guys.

We had a brilliant day with Skye Mountaineering, doing the In Pinn, Sgùrr MhicChoinnich and Sgùrr na Banachdich. Nate, Iain, and Harrison were sound - good banter, really knowledgeable, and gave useful tips throughout. They kept things safe and straightforward, and the good weather was a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

Nathan was terrific in tailoring activities to our specifically articulated needs. In addition, Nathan was highly responsive to communications and very knowledgeable about the sites we visited.

Extremely good experience with Nathan for our first Munro on Skye. Nathan helped us choose a great hike. We have been impressed by his mountaineering skills, dedication, and his commitment to safety as well as his knowledge of the environment and history of the region !

A traverse of the Cuillin Ridge in a single push is a significant undertaking, and Nate was the man for the job. He has fantastic knowledge of the Ridge and kept us safe and motivated throughout. Even when our energy levels were low, he kept us happy and moving.

He adapted to our requests on the day and included some more technical climbs too. We had the best weather for the season.

I would happily recommend Nate for guiding anything from smaller projects or large expeditions like this. His professionalism, knowledge and sense of humour goes a long way.

Nate and Ella were excellent knowledgeable guides, with a great focus on making sure we were safe and happy.

Will most definitely book with them again.

My Guide Nate was brilliant all day ! He made sure I had the best day Climbing the Inn Pinn . His assurance and his confidence in me ,helped calm my nerves and gave me the Confidence to Climb .He explained everything in detail about what was going to happen at every stage of the climb.It was my first time Climbing using ropes and harnesses. I learnt so much from him in that one day and I look forward to his winter training and traversing the Cullins next year .

Excellent experience on the munros on Skye

Cracking three days climbing all the Cuillin Munros with Skye Mountaineering! Our guide Nate was friendly, informative, organised, attentive, responsive and 100% professional. The planned programme and routes were flexible and adapted to changing conditions, taking into account our abilities and experience, and thanks to Nate our confidence grew on the rock; no mean feat to get someone with a prior dread of exposure enjoying the pinnacles, ridges, ledges and gullies of the Cuillin! Highly recommended!

Finally got to complete the Skye munros, thanks to Nate of Skye Mountaineering. Had originally planned to do in May but due to a cancellation & weather conditions Nate advised to cancel & rebook when suitable dates came up. A few weeks later Nate had me rebooked to complete the 4 day course in Skye, pairing me with another client and helped organise my accommodation.
Nate's communication was great throughout - on day one having assessed our ability he advised to complete the course in 3 days due to the changing weather conditions.
His knowledge & experience served us all well - explaining rope work,foot holds, pack weight, every detail was well thought through & made the experience one not to be forgot. Have been munro bagging for years but feel I have now gained more knowledge having met Nate & experienced the Cuillin Ridge. Would highly recommend Nate!!

2 Great days going up the In Pinn!

Nate and Iain were brilliant at guiding 2 large mixed experience groups from my hiking club to the top of the In Pinn and back down. Some were quite nervous about the climb but both guides helped them whenever they needed and let everyone move at their own pace.

We had a lot of people who wanted to tick the the summit off and a short space of time to do it in, Nate was great in both the communication for planning the days and in guiding us on the day itself. We were also led by another guide, Iain, who gave good advice on how to move in the Cuillin safely as well as ensuring we all had a good time time doing so!

Absolutely fantastic, Nate!

You're so kind, professional, knowledgeable, and patient. We are beginners and walk very slowly, but you remain patient with us all the time.

We still remember the little bits of knowledge you shared with us about the plants we spotted on the way.

Although the day was a bit misty, we still enjoyed the hike so much because of your lead.

We felt safe, and otherwise, we definitely wouldn't have been confident enough to even start on our own.

We are so happy to have had you on our journey.

Awsome Adventure
We did our Skye Munro adventure with a guide "Kyle and Nathan" had brilliant time, never had any issue, always felt we were in safe hands. Kyle and Nathan done more than their job keep us informed all the time kept us on best possible and safest route.
Thanks and we wil use you guys again if needed.

I highly recommend Skye Mountaineering for anyone visiting Skye.
We had a fantastic adventure on the Cuillins, Nate guided us for 4 brilliant days out and he very quickly figured out our abilities and he was informative and had advice when needed, we all bonded well and had some laughs along the way, so glad we had Nate for the trip especially the Inn Pinn where he made us feel confident without feeling pressure.
We will absolutely be booking again.🏔👌

We found Nathan Jones to be a very friendly mountain guide, who displayed obvious mountaineering skills. He made it easy for us to trust him completely, and relax for our Skye Munros Course. He was readily prepared to vary the mountain routes, and techniques used, to best suit our skills level. (and the weather!)

Nate took me to my very first outdoor climbing. I was really nervous and a but scared. I can get really self conscious, but he made me feel safe, he tailored the session to my ability levels. He was taking into account my personality and way of learning so the experience was great. I gained a lot of confidence in my climbing and in myself as well while just having fun.
