I wish I had checked Trustpilot before…

I wish I had checked Trustpilot before ordering Skydsl.
We live in Sicily and almost everyday we got loss of signal. It does happen ALWAYS during a rainstorm and also when there is blue sky and no wind.
On the bill and on the website there is not even an email address where to address technical problems or complains.
Our bill is Euro 54.90 per month and if your balance is not enough they charge an extra 20 Euros even for a day of delay.
Modem is very noisy. It sounds like one old fax machine.

This company do not live up to their…

This company do not live up to their promises and refuse to engage with you when you complain. I have been with them for 3 months and the service NEVER has lived up to promise. I'm currently gathering evidence for a formal complaint.

Scammers dont go there

Skydsl.eu It was exceptional for 6 months then they cut our power down. Now we are lucky if we are able to get 1 hour a day to do messages. Tried phoning just play music. Tried technical support tried to say we had wrong cable. They have a month to put it right or I'm not paying anymore. We are paying over 60 pound a month for 1 hour of internet. Of course I do not recomend this company. If they dont keep their part of the contract Im not keeping mine. We were promised unlimited internet. Save your money and sanity dont go with this company they are scammers.

One star because there is no zero

One star because there is no zero! A total SCAM. Simply do not deliver even close to the speed they sell you. Average 2% of the 40 M they promise. Frequent interruptions. Horrible customer support. Extremely expensive.
When I was registering they asked for all kinds of guarantees to assure that I would pay. When I asked why so much they said "because you are not German". This company should not be allowed to operate.

This is a huge scam on skydsl's part

This is a huge scam on skydsl's part, they offer up to 50mbs of speed with streaming but in reality you only get 40-41 mega of speed, once you sign up and everything is hooked up and working well then all of a sudden the speed drops , you call customer support at skydsl and of course the say we can't guarentee 50mega of speed during peak time in fact the speeds during peak time which is from 2pm to 10pm so during that time you are not able to stream or even brouse the internet, i then say i'm paying for streaming and i dont watch tv at 10pm till 8am so how is streaming worth it for me? her reply sorry we cant control when people are streaming? so don't offer the streaming if you cant deliver what you promise. this company does not care of the consumer. all they want is money. at the end of the day if they are honest they will get more business but obviously they are not. i nominat the president and GM of the company be fired.They are refusing to giving me back my refund in which they agreed to and doing everything they can to delay the refund. Next step is to complain to EU commission. This is the worst company in my life I had to deal with.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE. This a con. Do not fall for it. I even spoke to people on the phone twice, can't believe I was taken in. It all felt a bit uneasy, but I was soooo happy to have found what I thought was a solution to my internet issues. Hateful. Absolute crooks. I finally realised when I was asked for more money and clicked on the link they sent and it went to a 'this domain is for sale' page. I should have researched them. UGH.

Does not work at all

Wish I had seen this before. This has been a very bad experience for me. Nothing ever worked, customer service never even tried to help. Do NOT even consider getting this!

If i could give no stars i would.

If i could give no stars i would.

The service i paid for was 50mb with Streaming. I paid for the top option.
At the weekend the download was at most 900kb!
I never got more than mid-30s even with clear sunny day. Do not waste your time or money, what they advertise is a lie.
They won't give you your money back, even if you haven't started using there services because there support is so bad and never respond! It took me 6 weeks to get it working as nobody replied ever.

Living in Southern France in the…

Living in Southern France in the countryside with poor local DSL, and agree with other negative reviews. Wish I had seen these before contracting in late summer 2020.
Ping speed is awful, making VOIP and videoconference services unsatisfying at best, but that was advertised. What was not advertised was the bandwidth reduction to close to zero at peak use hours - usually after 5pm. To be clear, 0.2 to 0.4 Mbps/sec, compared to 30+ during off-peak hours. Customer service agent commiserated with me today as he heard the complaint literally all the time.

Avoid

Avoid! The service is awful. The bandwith is like a 28800 modem. Once you want to finish your contract, they start sending you invoices that don't apply.
A complete waste of time and money.

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

If I could give them zero I would. I cancelled my account at the end of July giving them one month's notice. I did this through their on-line customer portal and email. I did not receive any confirmation. I have since cancelled several times more but have still received no confirmation. I continue to receive monthly bills. I have since left the property and the equipment remains there for collection.
DO NOT DEAL with these people. After a year of poor connections, woeful performance, false performance information - I have only one conclusion. If you are a customer already and are having difficulties, make sure you screenshot all of your communications via the portal and of course keep any emails on file. IF YOU ARE NOT A CUSTOMER YET do not be fooled by the lies on their website. I chose SkyDSL by their false promises. I lived in a rural area of France with only a 6mb/1mb service on Orange. To be honest there were many occasions where this exceeded the performance of the SkyDSL service. My advice STAY AWAY!!

I contracted with SKYDSL 2 months ago and up to day's date have not heard a word from them for satellite Broadband. They have never replied to my 7 emails or to my 7 messages on their customer portal they just ignore everything. Worst company l have dealt with having paid and not received any service nor a reply. This is a disgraceful company

SKYDSL: Pay for 40 Mb,but share it with 49 others

After 1 month of fast internet (coincidentally during the 30 days that you can cancel for free), the speed went slower and slower to eventually less than 1Mb / s or nothing at all.
Conducted several tests, I was also accused of ordering the wrong modem from SKYDSL!
Then a lot of emails, telephone contact with the support department and the purchase of a faster (read more expensive) modem (via SKYDSL). Unfortunately no faster internet.
Finally, after 6 months, I received confirmation that I am sharing my 40Mb / s bandwidth with 49 more users: 40/50 = 0.8 so my 0.8 Mb / s is indeed acceptable for SkyDSL! It's also really in their fine print, so be warned.
Only of course not acceptable for us, paying more than € 55 per month and then having totally useless internet. Emailing is sometimes just fine, but you can really forget about doing something online with this tweaked data speed.
What I was warned about also happened, I was advised, if I did want fast internet, to become a business customer, then you will share the connection BUT with 20 others.
So this is behind SKYDSL's policy. first lure customers with relatively cheap internet, give a decent speed for the first month, then gradually reduce the speed and when the customer is frustrated and despaired, abuse it to push an even more expensive subscription down their throat!
Now for € 25 per month internet via 4G from Movistar and for what you pay: 20 Mb / s is also 20 Mb for us alone and I do not have to share this with half of Europe.
So I canceled last month (no confirmation received) and stopped my payments, canceled properly via the online form and also by email and now finally there has been a response from SKYDSL.
Not about the confusion or excuses about the misunderstanding. No, immediately threaten closure and additional collection costs, etc.
Fortunately, I have built up a file myself about my communication to SKYDSL.
We wait and see what the next step will be .........

I REALLY ADVISE ANYONE TO CONTACT THIS CRAZY AND MISLEADING PROVIDER.
IT IS A DECEPTION AND GOES PURELY TO GET IN AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE AND PROVIDE AS LITTLE SERVICE AS POSSIBLE!

It will save everyone a lot of time, annoyance and money.
We mainly surfed on the 4G of our mobile phones and have only disconnected the SKYDSL hardware, more power consumption than internet data

Website says they accept no responsibility for quality of service

If you’re reading this review, you’ll have seen the others and get the picture. Their website says you can’t claim compensation if they don’t provide the services (breach their duty) and they accept no liability at all for the quality of internet. Here are the details from their terms and conditions:

7.1 Compensation claims for breach of duty and tort as well as claims for reimbursement of expenses are excluded both against skyDSL as well as to their agents and assistants.
7.4 skyDSL assumes no liability whatsoever for [weather-related quality degradation ... as well as for] the quality of the data transmission, access times, possible restrictions on access to terrestrial or satellite networks and / or servers connected to the Internet.

I wish I read these reviews before buying

I wish I read these reviews before jumping in. The fact that they never replied to my sales emails at the start should have already told me enough.

So far, they have not replied to one of my support emails. When calling up for support they just hung up on me 3 times until I called another country.

The speed test they run shows 24mbps, even though I pay for 40mbps, I would already be happy with that, but when running a speed test by someone else it shows just 300kbps and it is clear that is the true speed as no webpages load.

I asked how to return and get my money back with the 30-day money-back guarantee. No reply so far, so I am going to block the bank account and just trash the satellite setup if they don't reply.

Update: No reply yet but I found a PDF they sent at the beginning it is titled revocation and contains details on how to cancel, but it says within 14 days which is contrary to their website which says 30 days. The next thing is that the email they list in that document does not even exist because I sent an email to it but it got returned. I also CC'ed their support email but I expect the same from that, no reply. Hence, the only thing to do is block their direct debit and just trash the equipment.

What an awful company.
