This is a Scam and you will not receive your money back
1 STAR — AVOID THIS COMPANY
Absolutely appalling experience with SK Retreats.
I booked accommodation for my friend’s 40th birthday. 24 hours before we were due to stay, I received a WhatsApp message from SK Retreats cancelling our booking, claiming there had been a leak at the property.
I was told that my £390 refund had been issued and would be back in my account within 3–5 working days. I also received this confirmation by email.
We are now 6 working days later and I still have NOT received my money.
Since then, I have repeatedly tried to contact this company by email, WhatsApp and telephone to get a simple answer about where my refund is.
No response to my emails.
No answer to my calls.
I have been BLOCKED on WhatsApp.
This is completely unacceptable.
Because they cancelled our accommodation with just 24 hours’ notice, we had no choice but to find somewhere else at the last minute, costing us a further £500.
So we were left scrambling to find alternative accommodation for a 40th birthday weekend, had to pay another £500, and are now still chasing the £390 that we were told had already been refunded.
I understand that properties can have unexpected problems and cancellations can happen. What is completely unacceptable is taking someone’s money, promising a refund within a specific timeframe, and then becoming impossible to contact when that money doesn’t arrive.
At this point, I have serious concerns about this company and the way my money has been handled. I have paid £390, I have not received it back, and SK Retreats have blocked me and stopped responding.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY.
I would strongly advise anyone considering booking with SK Retreats to think very carefully and look at the experiences of other customers before handing over any money.
If I could give ZERO stars, I would.
