SkipperCheck.net is a modern online platform created by Nautica.lv – one of the oldest and most experienced sailing schools in Latvia. We combine over 15 years of hands-on teaching experience with the latest educational technologies to offer high-quality, internationally recognized courses for all maritime enthusiasts. Who We Are Nautica Sailing School has been operating since 2008, and our instructors have trained over 1,000 yacht captains and motorboat operators. We have worked both in Latvia and abroad in cooperation with IYT (International Yacht Training) and other international institutions. We are the first international sailing school not only in Latvia but also in the entire Baltic region. We proudly continue the legacy of Krišjānis Valdemārs’ historic call: “Latvians, go to the sea!”, building a new generation of skilled and confident sailors. This mission is deeply personal to me — my great-grandfather Kārlis Bezbailis was a graduate of the Ainaži Martime School (Est. 1864), later a deep-sea captain and shipowner. My grandfather was a Sea Scout leader, and my father served in the navy. Maritime tradition runs in our family bloodline. In collaboration with the National Defence Academy, we provide introductory sailing training to future military officers. We also work closely with state institutions such as the State Police, Border Guard, Coast Guard, and Ministry of Transport, contributing to the development of national boating regulations. We have created TV programs, blogs, and educational content to promote leisure boating in Latvia and beyond. In 2011, we developed the iOS mobile apps “Sailing School” and “Segelschule”, the world’s first sailing education apps for recreational boating. These apps are still used today by hundreds of thousands of learners worldwide. Our YouTube channel @skippercheck_net features practical tutorials, maneuver demonstrations, and training content. It is well-regarded both locally and internationally. We also maintain an active sailing club, through which we set out on near and far sailing expeditions with our top students – gaining experience and discovering the world from a skipper’s point of view. Highly recommend the course. The test is a really good examining of your knowledge. The simulator is best I’ve seen and close enough to the real thing. For anyone renting in Italy (bare boat skipper) you need the VHF cert.

Finished courses with Nautica - got the licence for 24m international waters and I think that's the reason why this works and you don't need to buy any other books or dig materials online by yourself - everything is there.
This is a great service. The exam and tutorial is comprehensive and professional. Just finished my exam and ordered my hard copy. The material is well presented and understandable. The exam was a bit hard but they offer good online help.
