Delicious meal from Silver Bell
We were invited to taste test Silver Bell's new menu. We had Roasted Sweet potato and Black Bean Salad- Very easy to do and delicious. Not an obvious combination but works well. We had it as a starter but would be nice as a side dish as well. The dressing was well balanced and a good amount. Tastes delicious but feels healthy too. Maybe consider adding black olives too for a salty contrast to the sweet flavours.
Herb Crusted Cod Loin with Roasted New Potatoes and Petit Pois a la Francais- Might be worth putting fan oven temperature in the instructions too. Lemon on the potatoes stood out nicely. Herb crust adds well to the texture of the fish without overwhelming. A tiny bit more crust might be nice. Peas work well with the dish. Timings are good- fish cooked perfectly. Portion size is fine. A very tasty healthy dish.
Crepes Suzette with Chantilly Cream and Shaved Chocolate- The orange segments disintegrated but this was not a problem. We didn't use all the chocolate as a matter of personal taste. Very easy to do. balance of sweetness just right, sauce caramelised nicely. Felt like a luxurious way to end a lovely meal.
This is ideal and very tasty for something a bit special after a busy day. Thank you for the opportunity to taste.
