Preying on the elderly – do not trust

Had a very dodgy experience.

The lady i care for (and several others) in an old person's home were convinced into all having an eye test.

The two men turned up (both foreign, I'd guess one was south asian and one was middle eastern)

The woman before the lady i care for, very clearly did not want to buy any glasses (she said this several times) yet the man insisted that she can go and get her card from her room and pay (and he went with her).

Then it was the lady I care fors turn. The first guy did a simple eye test with lenses and flicking through them to see which is better. He then claimed that she had "cataracts in both eyes"... she had double cataract surgery last year which is meant to be life-long. So this added to the dodgyness.

We then went to the second man who asked her to try on some glasses, then convinced her to purchase two pairs and even add a further UV protection coating onto one of the pair of lenses. She didnt want to pay but the man insisted she can pay cash or card... or pay half now... and he kept pushing for payment.

They managed to scrounge £200.

Seems very unprofessional or, in my opinion, a complete scam. Will be requesting a refund ASAP and if unsuccessful (since the receipt says hand written refund request), then will contact the bank to block and return funds.

Do not trust this company.
