Perfectly designed petite clothing

I have purchased 5 items from Laura and they are all amazing. The quality, design fit and wearability are far beyond the mass produced high street brands.
Laura offers individual sizing advice and this proved invaluable, so I highly recommend contacting her if you are unsure on which size to order.
I returned one item as I wanted a slightly more snug fit, the exchange process was very easy and quick. I posted my return on Saturday and received the exchange dress on Wednesday and Laura was nothing but helpful and friendly during the whole process 🤩

Petite Magician!

I've tried a few pieces from The Shortlist now and I can honestly say Laura is a petite magician! She’s incredibly talented at what she does, and I love how the brand is thoughtfully designed just for petite women - something that’s so rare to find.

At first, the prices did feel higher than your typical high street buys, but this is not fast fashion. Laura is really open about the true cost of making each item, and that transparency is what convinced me to try it. Safe to say, the quality is absolutely next level. 100x better than anything I’ve had from the high street.

So glad I discovered The Shortlist, I’ll definitely be a returning customer!

Be wary of unreasonable returns policy! Please read this honest review of why I won’t shop at The Shortlist again.

I’d been a fan of The Shortlist for a long time as someone who loves wearing pieces my taller friends can’t and shopping at independent and ethical brands. I was excited to purchase my first piece (first time buying at an independent fashion brand) however on trying it on the fit really did not suit my body shape (I’m generally fine in all other petite high-street brands) and so I wished to return.

While to request a return is relatively straightforward, note it must be accepted and this isn’t immediate (as I’ve gotten accustomed). An email will follow with a code (not necessarily the same day), which is most likely to go into your junk folder and gives an address to post your item back to (postage at your own expense).

Following me sending the dress back I received an email that my return would not be accepted due to smelling of smoke. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I knew 100% that this couldn’t be the case and challenged it. Smoke smelling then changed to ‘musky’ and that I should be aware of the very strict returns process and the dress would be sent back to me without refund. I only tried the dress on and it remained in original packaging sealed until it was posted. I was so dissatisfied at the response and knowing my consumer rights, with support from Citizens Advice & my credit card company I was easily able to get my money back as it was agreed the returns policy is not well highlighted at point of purchase, nor is it reasonably in line with the CR Act.

All in all very disappointing and I will not be a returning customer.

To the owner, Laura - I’d recommend for future, that customers are clearly made aware of the returns policy at point of sale, the written policy is re-considered and/or reviewed by a legal expert and that customers have the ability to add and see all genuine reviews from past customers (google reviews cannot be easily seen).
