Huge disappointment dealing with this company.

Huge disappointment dealing with this company. Glad I learned from the unsuccessful small parts order so that I could cancel my order of a Brian May Super that they offered to me while they cancelled my parts order due to US tariffs. There was nothing on the Brian May Guitar’s website that explained that they were not shipping small parts due to the US tariffs and the $80 minimum charge. Even though their website said that the Super wait list was closed apparently some savvy buyers backed out.
So I am told the Super order would be for December production and that once the order was confirmed I would have to give my tax ID to DHL. My first time exporting goods from the UK and having to give out my social security number? I’ve bought expensive synths from the UK and never had to give the shipper my social security number. So I really had to confirm this Brian May Guitar employee’s credentials especially when the call is from Arizona and Brian May Guitars are in the UK, they had already botched a simple small parts order and me giving out my social and this employee was telling me they were not shipping small parts to the US due to the $80 minimum charge and yet nothing on their website explaining that policy at the time. I then get a call back from this employee who is irate … upset that I had created “fiction”. I have the right to confirm background checks of anyone and any company I deal with especially when with a talking about several thousands of dollars. I explained to this irate employee that my family had been the victims of fraud before but that did not matter … apparently I was at fault for being vigilant.
8-19-25 ordered 2 Brian May knobs and a gold truss rod cover. Received a confirmation from Barclay that my order had been charged to my card. Never received a confirming email from Brian May guitars.
By 8-25-25 no shipping infos so I reached out to the Brian May Guitars Facebook page. Was told that there was a “glitch” in the system and was told to forward my payment email to Brian May Guitars. Then I got a confirming. Email of my order.
8-26-25 I receive a call from their rep in Arizona … same guy who says he runs their website and Facebook page that told me to resolve the payment issue with Brian May Guitars. I am informed that they are no longer shipping small parts to the US due to the minimum duty charge of $80. They refund my money … well sort of. I paid $48.55 USD. They refunded $47.97 …. They were short 58 cents. So emailed again for the remaining 58 cents. Oh apologies I get but they have no control over the exchange rate. So their fault over the order glitch and no full refund? It’s the principal of the thing … I want my full refund.
At this point I cancel the Super preorder (sourced locally in the US now) and contact my credit card company who confirm the cancellation and partial refund and put in a chargeback. I am told not to respond to Brian May Guitars … the bank will handle the chargeback. I’ve blocked all emails and calls from Brian May Guitars.
Wish I had seen these reviews on Trust Pilot first or I never would have bought from Brian May Guitars.

Just received my "new" Brian May…

Just received my "new" Brian May "Frank" graphic guitar and what a nightmare... It was covered in a fine dirty dust, fret board had splits/small slivers had fallen out/plastic protective film covering the pickups leaves a very hard to remove residue once removed that marked the pickup rings. All this for a thousand pounds... Yes a THOUSAND POUNDS.
The shop did offer to replace it but there is no excuse in this day and age for this type of quality control to be sent out to customers paying with their hard earned cash. Was this a B stock? Should have been. I asked for a partial refund as I had already removed the strings to replace them and struggled to clean up the guitar but was told we don't do refunds... Poor... Wish I hadn't wasted my money on this.

Brian May Guirar was defective

My 15 year old used all his savings to buy a BM guitar from House Music in UK- brianmayguitars.co.uk. He's been playing guitars for 3 years and is super good. We live in Ireland so got hit wt import duties- that I wasn't banking for but that was my stupidity. The guitar arrived promptly BUT it didn't work. No electric going into it. I asked supplier House Music uk to send another but they wanted us to bring it to a music shop to be repaired. I was reluctant but my son was eager to have it working. House Music uk also said they would send a goodie bag of BM stuff out to my son by way if an apology. He was happy with that news. So we took it for repair- 45km round trip from our house. I had to leave it with techie. Got call to say it needed a part and it would take a week. At this stage I asked for a full refund from House Music. I had to rgen retrieve the guitar from repair shop. I got very rude emails from Gill in HouseMusicuk. It took 3 days for guitar to be collected. just got a refund- €50 less that my son paid. He also never even received his goodie bag. I'm sure Sir Brian wouldn't want his customers treated like this. Such a distressing experience.

What an amazing guitar

What an amazing guitar! The BM super is ... well super! The service from BM guitars was great, the guitar took a life time to arrive, but the support through out was great.

Great guitar but not impressed by the support

The Red Special is a great guitar. I owe a Gibson Les Paul and two Fenders (Telecaster and Stratocaster). But The Red Special is my absolute favorite at the moment.
I´m NOT impressed by the support though.
After receiving my Red Special I found out that there were some problems with the switches (no sound when switching). I called House Music they suggested that I got the guitar repaired by my local guitar repair man. I then could send the bill to House Music.
I did all this: I got the guitar repaired (which was no big deal), paid the bill and send it to House Music by mail.
Nothing happened since then (two months ago). I contacted them a three times. But no reaction. Then I gave up.
It was not a big or expensive thing. But they send me a guitar that did not work properly. And no reaction on my (polite) complaints.
So 5 stars for the guitar minus 2 for the support...

Ordered a Super nearly 2 years ago via…

Ordered a Super nearly 2 years ago via the dealer - chased dealer and BM Guitars - to be told there was an issue with the wood, the pick ups and yes they were in the shop - just needing Pickups, email after email and call after call - always apologetic, woods are banned, pickups are faulty, transport issues - the list is endless and nonsense. I am gutted this has not arrived yet - the shop told me the guitars were physically in the shop just needing pickups - they arrived in coventry and that was a year ago. I am hopeful at somepoint I will get a guitar, but the service and communication is dire.

Great guitars - shabby order process and communication

The guitar and case were both showing as "In Stock - Immediate Despatch" and credit card payment was taken immediately, but dispatch was delayed by a week due to an undeclared stocking and order processing backlog.

I wouldn't have minded it being a week late but nobody bothered to contact me (contrary to that stated on the "Shipping & Delivery" policy).

Even when it did get dispatched I didn't get an email, text message or UPS tracking reference (yes, I did check my junk mail box).

The order status was still stuck on "In Progress" (instead of "Completed") even after delivery.
