Using it for 4 years. Very happy with it.
Are they perfect? Of course not like all the other companies. If they do not solve your problem, just send a message to the CEO of Auctane, it will be solved in a day.
Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Customer Service
I hope this feedback is taken seriously by ShipStation, because this is a textbook example of how to lose a potential long-term customer.
Everything went relatively smoothly during the trial period—until I encountered a problem. While reviewing past shipments, I noticed one had wildly inaccurate weight and charges. Instead of the correct 6 oz, the shipment was somehow recorded as 1.9 lbs, resulting in a higher fee.
I reached out to customer service—not once, but three times—before finally getting a response. I was told the issue was caused by ShipStation’s autofill function. I explained that I had never enabled autofill and asked for the incorrect charge to be reversed. Instead of action, I received long-winded responses filled with generic support-speak, but no resolution.
As a side note, I was actually ready to choose a paid plan and integrate ShipStation into our website. That changed quickly.
Later, a different rep claimed the weight issue was entirely my fault—essentially accusing me of not knowing the difference between 6 oz and 1.9 lbs. This was insulting and contradicted what the previous support rep had told me. By the 7th or 8th chat session, I’d had enough. The rep kept rambling while I tuned out.
To make matters worse, even after I canceled my account, the rep continued messaging me—and informed me it would take six weeks to get a refund for our prepaid shipping account . Over a $4 mistake.
This incident helped me realize exactly how ShipStation handles problems. And based on that experience, it’s clear this is not a company I want to trust—especially as our shipping volume spikes 30-50x during our busy season. I simply can't waste time chasing down minor overcharges and dealing with contradictory, unhelpful customer service.
Final verdict: Poor service, frustrating experience, and zero accountability. Avoid.

We have been utilizing ShipStation for 9 years. It is easy to use & integrates perfectly with Shopify and other applications Maestro's partners with.

Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. Packages are lost without proper follow-up, and shipments are often subjected to unfair additional customs charges. When I raise these issues, I'm simply told to contact FedEx—as if I were working with them directly—when in reality, I’m using your platform.
Customer support seems disconnected and inconsistent. When a problem arises, I’m constantly redirected to lower-level agents, yet no actual resolution is ever provided. On top of all this, despite the ongoing issues and lack of usage, my subscription was renewed automatically without notice.
With all these recurring problems, I cannot recommend this service.

STAY AWAY. Seriously though. I didn't take these other reviews seriously and it is BAAD. Horrible customer support that gives you copy and paste replies that don't even apply. I was charged multiple times for things that didn't exist and support tried telling me there were no charges. If you reload your ship station balance, that doesn't apply to shipments, you have a separate balance for each carrier which defeats the whole purpose of doing it on one platform. I save $50 on one shipment by JUST GOING TO UPS.
This is just a big scam. You want discounted rates at USPS? Use STAMPS.com (Shipstation makes you sign up for them anyway for the USPS discounted rates)
Where do I start?
We have been using ShipStation for years. I used to sing their praises and recommend them to everyone who needed any shipping services. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. They have become yet another greedy software company that does not care about its customers.
We have been using their Bronze package for years. We have always been able to edit our packing slips. I really didn't need to change anything except the barcode size, because the barcode on the default packing slip is too small and doesn't scan. Suddenly, with no communication from ShipStation, my account has reverted back to the default packing slip, and I am no longer able to change the barcode size. The ability to customize packing slips is now behind a paywall. I would have to pay an extra $480 per year just to have a packing slip that is scannable! Instead of telling me that I need to upgrade to the next tier, why don't they just make a default packing slip that is actually functional?
I actually reached out to support to see if they could just fix the barcode size on my default packing slip. Lo and behold! They actually changed it! But alas, the next day it reverted to default sizing again. So I reached out to support again, and they changed the barcode size again. I asked if this is a permanent change because it only lasted a day last time. He assured me this is a permanent change and I won't need to reach out again. One day later, it reverted to the default size again. I reached out again, and this time I got a support agent who told me I need to pay an extra $40 a month to have a functional packing slip. I'm not asking for additional features; I just want FUNCTIONAL default features.
Also, they randomly took API functionality from my account. Guess what? You also have to go to an even higher tier to get API access now! My branded tracking page is non-existent, and my shipping services were no longer displayed on my website checkout pages.
It's fine if you want to make these changes for new customers going forward, but existing customers who have been loyal supporters for years should be grandfathered into a special package to receive what they signed up for.
After reading over some of these reviews, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who was completely blindsided and feels like ShipStation no longer offers the service they once did. I never once shopped the market for another shipping software because ShipStation was so good, but unfortunately, I'm going to have to do some shopping.
THIEVES. They steal your money by purposefully making refunds and expenses complicated. For example, if you ship via UPS and a package is lost or late via a guaranteed service, you will hardly ever see a refund. You have to escalate things to management to get these refunds 4-5 months later, after they have wore you down. We have used ShipStation for at least 5-6 years now. Stamps.com, who works closely with ShipStation, is no better as they will also purposely hide refunds, make false claims, and claim there is a bug in their system that is prevent you from seeing the refund. Avoid ShipStation if you can.
Easy to navigate, cost effective for customer and vendor. Help is there in case there are questions.

PAINFUL - AVOID.
Like other users here, I spend a few hours with their support team every month or two. I dread it. Their program is full of glitches and their team of customer service are poor at dealing with enquiries. They take money from our account that we aren't expecting. For the second time they raised our bill without our awareness. First time from £25 to £72. This time from £72 to £375. now going to need to go through the credit card company to get that money back. I literally hate this company.

I've been a client w/shipstation (SS) for about 15 years; almost since its inception.
Previously I had used Auctane (ebay); it's antecedent around 2010. Jason Hodges the original programmer and founder of Shipstation had done custom programming for my company which is still
incorporated in Shipstation. Unfortunately, he left the company years ago.
Over the years SS has become more and more bloated forcing me to contact and spend 30-60 minutes with support about every 60 days
trying to determine why the label generating program is not working as expected.
The error messages displayed are not intuitive at all.
Unlike other reviews, I find the SS reps to be friendly and understandable, but however accommodating they rarely seem to be able to find the solution
to my current problem.
I used to love Shipstation and will continue to use it at least for now, although I've started looking for other solutions.
Sad that a great company has gotten so bloated with code and options that it breaks down too often. I think they have too many programmers with time on their hands.

I have been using shipstation for a few years. Whenever I have had a problem, they were able to resolve it. Good service.

So disapointed with Shipstation. They have outsorced their support Overseas and the reps do not even understand what you are saying. They launched a rate shopper app and it does not work. After hours with support I am giving up. I don't even know how to reach a decision maker. So I am leaving a review. I hate to see a good company like ShipStation go down the tank. I think we are going to be forced to go with Veeqo or another supplier. Companies are losing out with service these days by going all AI or outsourcing oversees. Sad to see.

We've been using ShipStation UK for a while now, and I can't speak highly enough about the platform—or about Emily, who has been absolutely amazing to work with.
Emily has gone above and beyond to support our business. She's incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about helping us succeed. Thanks to her, setting up and optimising our shipping processes has been smooth and stress-free.
The platform itself is super intuitive and easy to use. It’s saved us so much time and hassle managing our orders, and it integrates seamlessly with our existing systems. On top of that, ShipStation consistently gives us some of the best shipping rates we've seen, which has made a real difference to our bottom line.
Highly recommend both ShipStation and Emily to any business looking to streamline their shipping and improve their customer experience.

Genuinely shocked by how bad their support is — super unhelpful, extremely slow, and honestly unfriendly. They don’t listen or try to actually solve anything. The person who did my onboarding didn’t even seem to know how to use their own platform. I just needed some clarity and got none. Come on guys, what is this?
