I have had such a difficult time trying to get awkward size of spindles I thought I would have to give up . But then I got Chris on the phone and within couple hours he had all the sizes sourced for me , I’ve paid already and they getting shipped soon . Chris went over and above for me helping and listening he was fantastic and highly recommended this company to everyone . 5 stars not enough for the way I feel that someone actually cared and listened and found what I needed x

Excellent 10 × x 900 x 32mm spindles. Great quality, didn't even needing sanding. Very well wrapped, promptly delivered.

Quality and service , at last a Company that delivers on all fronts, ordering was simple, price was very competitive for a bespoke newal cap- delivery was extremely quick but above all the quality of the finished product was 1st class.

Ordered 3 oak newel posts from shaws. It was surprisingly difficult to find 83mm oak newels. I was contemplating buying 90s and cutting down but knew it wouldn’t go to plan.

Found them at shaws. The order was straight forward. Delivery was quick. They look great and are great quality.

I’ll happily use shaws again, I followed this order up with another today.

After nights of searching online for an Oak Balustrade, base and handrail I kept returning to Shaw Stairs because it's website was so informative giving information on sizes, how to guides and everything I needed in one place. I placed my order then after some time I decided to order more Oak products which Chris did for me without issue and even removed the postage costs for separate orders which is a rare occurrence these days
Chris notified me when my order was being sent so I could arrange fitting dates and when it came it was the most beautiful Oak, gorgeous natural colour and grain and so well packaged the photos on the website doesn't give it justice in my opinion.
Very competitive pricing for that quality also.
All fitted and oiled today, my hallway is the talk of the town now.

Chris was extremely helpful with answering questions prior to the purchase. We were pleased the handrail came in one piece. It was all really well packaged and the product was of really great quality! Unfortunately we realised that the handrail is way too big for our home though so decided to return it. We had to pay for the return delivery but that was expected. The key was that we were able to do this and to get the refund quickly. All was handled professionally and for that reason I would recommend the product and service to others.

I’ve had issues with some new stairs installed incorrectly by a loft company (who shall remain nameless for now as they are trying to resolve it) and needed some local advice in Tamworth. I nipped down (without an appointment) to Shaw Stairs and Chris (the owner) was busy in the workshop; however, he dropped what he was doing and spent about 20 mins with me, going over my architect’s plans and photos, explaining the mistakes and offering solutions. This wasn’t so he could have my business, only to help me resolve with my builder. His workshop is massive and impressive. The quality of the stairs I saw them building was fantastic. The ‘basic’ stairs were thick and solid pine, beautifully machined and finished throughout, and just ‘night and day’ to the ones we’ve had installed (thin MDF for the treads and plywood for the risers). I wouldn’t hesitate to use Chris and his team in the future. What a knowledgable, professional and helpful chap.

After a few weeks of web searching for the stair hand rail and balustrades to suit our need we found Shaw Stairs. The website is excellent, easy to use and full of information and product details. On working out what was needed we easily arranged the items required. Setting up the order was simple, again easy to select, modify and create the correct order details. Once ordered we were given delivery information. We made contact regarding the delivery time. Great communication with full information given to us. The delivery was exactly as arranged by a courteous and professional delivery service.
On inspection the items were extremely well packaged. The wood, oak, is of a really high quality. We are looking forward to seeing our old enclosed stair opened up with natural light glancing of all the oak parts. Excellent company to deal with I couldn't recommend them more...

Following sound advice from Chris Shaw, I was happy to purchase oak stair rail, in lengths to suit my staircase, and the associated support brackets and metal connecting joints. The quality of the well-seasoned oak, the metal brackets and joints was exceptional and was straightforward to assemble. The oak was superbly finished enabling me to apply stain and varnish without further preparation. Delivery of the complete order was on time and a small amount of additional wood machining done without additional charge. I have no hesitation in recommending this excellent company providing quality service and materials.

Great comms including flexibility when I needed a slight change to my order. Came earlier than expected and all goods were super well packaged. Highly recommend.

I contacted Shaw Stairs as I originally wanted to replace my handrail and spindles. They put me in contact with Shaun, one of their recommended carpenters who quickly contacted me and arranged a visit. The project took on a whole new life when Shaun redesigned my staircase, not only moving the handrail to the other side of the staircase (something I would never have thought of) but also cladding the whole staircase in oak, with black metal spindles. Shaun did an absolutely wonderful job. The staircase is totally transformed and looks so much better than I ever could have imaged. Shaun is a real craftsman, with an eye for detail. I would recommend Shaw Stairs and especially Shaun.

I was tasked with sourcing a new balustrade for my home. I managed to put together a list of the parts, thanks to the easy to use Shaw's website. I was unsure about a couple of parts and so I phoned the company and spoke to Chris. He was extremely helpful - he asked me to send some photos which I did. From that Chris was able to suggest a couple of changes to my order.
It was several months after delivery before I could get the new balustrade fitted. It is now in place and we are delighted with the quality and finish of the materials and of course the excellent customer service we received.
