I found this firm because they were linked to by John Lewis so I presumed they were good quality and reliable. Ordered some stick on Venetian blinds, arrived quickly, ways to reschedule the delivery, very easy to fit. Seem good value for money.

3 blinds purchased but instructions not so clear
Purchasing 3 blinds from Shade & Story was a very easy process. However we have found fitting them ourselves wasn’t as easy as we were led to believe and the instructions were not that clear. The one blind we have managed to put up so far is down on one side more than the other and the instructions for rectifying it have not worked. The blinds are really expensive so I was disappointed in some aspects of my purchase so far.

Looking at your order I can see that you have ordered a recess blind.
When ordering blinds with a recess measurement we make the necessary deductions from the recess measurement you have given. This instruction can be seen on our website under how to measure. However you took this off yourself.
As such the blinds you have received are correct, to your measurement plus our tolerance we advise about. I can see that you did not take out measure insurance so we are unable to process a remake to the correct dimensions.

Buying and installing a blind
Followed the directions for measurements, the blind was delivered within 2 days and installed upon arrival. No problem and its a great looking blind.

Okay blinds
Ordered the blinds via JL website. Half the price of ordering in store with JL. Needed a nudge for delivery. Blinds are okay. The metal string was found broken when we installed the blinds.

Service was excellent with timely delivery and the items arrived in perfect condition to be installed easily with no issues. Would have preferred for screws to be provided for installation however it is not a major problem.

The blinds were delivered successfully…
The blinds were delivered successfully however the quality is very poor, for example the pulley (cord) is in poor quality that it snapped on first go when tried to pull the blind up. Another issue encountered was around the fit and measurement. Two out three blinds order do not fit due to either too wide or not wide enough. One of the blinds has its width 2.5 cm shorter than the supplied measurement. Fortunately I bought an insurance when placing my order. Have emailed to Shade & Story and provided images / photos showing the problems as they requested. The staff are helpful. Hopefully we will get the blind replacement soon.
