Is Settle a scam ?
On 3 May, I made some transfers from settle to my bank account. In previous experiences it took a maximum of 3 working days to reach my account, which is normal for sepa transfers.
However, this time it's been a week and the amount hasn't reached my bank account. And here begins the great Settle disappointment!
On 10 May I went to look for the support contact on the app, and when I clicked on it, it sent me to an error page. I went to the website to look for a support email contact, no email or telephone contacts were found. I found a form which I filled in and received no reply, not even an automated one. It was starting to look like a scam page, so I went to the footer of the website to check the link that refers to Settle's licence as a financial institution authorised by the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority. Surprise: page not found!
In the application, I found a link where we could ask settle to send our personal details, and finally I received an automatic email from Settle and a contact e-mail where I could send a support request.
Sending an email on the 10th, I received an automatic email saying that I was on a waiting list because the support system was undergoing setup changes.
On 13 May, Settle support sent a message explaining that there had been a temporary pause in transfers due to problems with VISA and MASTERCARD, but that it had now been resolved and that I would receive the funds in my bank account in the next few days.
The relief was short-lived.
On 16 May, without having received anything in my account, I contacted them again and received no reply.
On 20 May, without having received anything in my account, I contact them again and receive an automatic email "Thank you for contacting Settle.
Our customer support will process your request as soon as possible. (...)".
On 29 May I contacted Settle again and received the same automatic email.
To this day, 30 May, I still haven't received my funds in my bank account or a decent response from Settle.
Questions for SETTLE
Why is the link to your licence as a financial institution authorised by the Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority not working and where can we find your licence register?
Is Settle Group AS really licensed to provide financial services in all EEA states as an Electronic Money Institution?
If you consider yourselves to be a legitimate and serious company, why is your transparency and support so poor?
And most importantly, when will my funds be sent to my account?
[EDIT 07/06/2024] Funds received today! No communication from Settle.
