Simone Whitehouse - RE Advisor
During lockdown Simone was extremely helpful giving me advice on how to successfully implement the Birmingham RE syllabus in our school. She explained the syllabus to me and helped me create an account on the faith makes a difference website. She also advised me on how I can purchase medium term planning for my school and how I can receive further RE training.
Support for NQT Portal
Great support provided for making the NQT Portal work for our school, many thanks.
Curriculum: Intent, Implementation, Impact course by Linda Brown and Tricia Bunn.
In January 2020, I attended the Curriculum: Intent, Implementation, Impact course delivered though Services for Education by Linda Brown and Tricia Bunn. I found that their knowledge , delivery and enthusiasm allowed me to leave inspired and feeling more confident when looking at curriculum development. This course is highly recommended.
Highly recommend the Intent, Implementation and Impact course
I recently attended the Curriculum: Intent, Implementation, Impact course led by Linda Brown and Tricia Bunn. It was incredible! I came away from the course feeling inspired and with renewed confidence. Highly recommend the course for those interested in curriculum development :)

I asked Sandra Passmore to deliver a session on Safeguarding responsibilities for senior managers to our Board of Directors on October 3rd 2019. The course was really well received by everyone, and what was particularly memorable was the fact that Sandra had obviously done some preparatory reading on our organization in advance. The result of this was that she was able to provide relevant context to some of the points, rather than simply dealing with the theory. I would strongly recommend Sandra for this kind of session in the future.
Safeguarding training.
Sandra delivered Safeguarding training to all staff/Governors in October 2019. The training was clear, concise and exactly what school sought. The training allowed staff to reflect, share and consider how best to improve their practice. It also gave colleagues the opportunity to ask questions of the provider, giving them the necessary answers to any queries they may have had.
Valuable and essential CPD for everyone!

Jo Perrin did an outstanding job of delivering our DSL top up training. For this in-house session, we had a diverse team of staff with very different roles, all to do with safeguarding and Jo ensured that the full team were fully versed in changes, priorities and legalities. The session was engaging and very thorough. It inspired reviews of how we could build in tweaks into our practice and areas for us to have further discussion, with everyone being well informed. Jo was very approachable and knowledgeable and her training was excellent. Thank you!
Teacher Training with SFE!
Overall my teacher training experience with SFE was a very positive one. The excellent training fully equipped me for the world of teaching. The ongoing care and support from my tutor, school mentor, programme manager and Martyn Collin were exceptional. I am so glad I have chosen this programme as I do not feel they are other programmes like this. The cohorts are relatively small which has its huge benefits also.
Therefore anyone comtemplating on whether to do their teacher training with SFE, I fully recommend you to go ahead. I promise you won't regret it!
Jo delivered our Safeguarding training…
Jo delivered our Safeguarding training in September 2019 to all our staff and governors. I asked Jo to cover a wide variety of safeguarding areas and she did this with great clarity. As a school leader it is reassuring to know that all your staff are getting very good quality safeguarding training. All staff feel much more confident having had a full day to listen, reflect and discuss a wide range of safeguarding topics.
Safeguarding and Child Protection training.
Jo Perrin has been delivering our whole school Safeguarding and Child Protection training for the last 3 years at Clifton Primary School. Jo covers all the relevant updates which covered a lot of content, especially 'Keeping Children Safe in Education.' Jo's training is straight to the point and she delivers it so passionately! All staff have commented on how good she and that's why we keep booking her annually! Hope to see her again in September, 2019!
Learning on the job
I trained with Services For Education in the 2018-2019 ITT cohort and found the training experiences a fantastic step into the world of teaching.
Coming from a none school based background the additional help and support for the tutors and mentors helped guide me in the right direction, and now in my NQT year I can see how the different lectures and training days support my teaching.
One of the main positives of training with SFE is the amount of time you are in-school training directly with a class teacher. I feel this was a lot more beneficial for me than attending lectures and trying to implement.
For those who want to learn on the job, this is the course I would recommend for you.
NQT SUPPORT
Services for Education have been invaluable to us as a school in their support of our NQT's over the past few years. Not only do they offer advice based on their years of experience and knowledge they also provide excellent CPD opportunities for our NQT's. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

We signed up for the Health for Life Project at the beginning of last year and the support and advice we have had from Birmingham Services for Education has been outstanding. Helen Grundy has been particularly supportive and the advice and guidance she has provided has made the process as painless as possible. Helen has been at the end of a phone or email from the initial planning stage down to the final review… answering all my silly questions. I can’t recommend the project or service enough.

Online Safeguarding Training
This is a great resource to have. It makes it easy to ensure all staff are up-to-date with their safeguarding training. The staff are always very helpful.
NQT Support
School support for NQTs is at the end of a phone or email!
Nothing is too much trouble for the team. Their advice is communicated well and they give very clear messages to NQT Mentors and NQTs. Visits to school are very professional and as well as celebrating success visits can also guide schools in how to support NQTs further or how NQTs need to gather more evidence.
Mentor training covers specific need to know topics and mentors feel fully informed.
Safeguarding training 2nd September
Sandra delivered whole school safeguarding training on 2nd September.
The half day training was extremely informative and relevant, delivered in a very professional and relaxed manner. A lot of content was covered in the session, including latest updates to KCSIE.
All staff rated the training highly and we will certainly book Sandra again in the future.

Sandra Passmore delivered an excellent safeguarding inset slot at our whole School staff training day in September. The feedback we had from staff was all excellent and we will certainly be asking for a return visit! Thanks once again, Sandra for a fabulous session.
