Lack of transparency and wasting time

I was interested in buying an earthing mat from this company after seeing their advertisement on Facebook. After clicking on the link, it was indicated that the product inventory was available in Chandigarh, India, but the sellout risk was high etc; it being an obvious sales tactic.

I contacted the company on 2nd April to confirm domestic delivery within India, because their company website displayed all products priced in American dollars, but not Indian rupees, causing me to doubt the initial statement that mats could be supplied from Chandigarh.

On 4th April, the staff person who replied, Sarah, asked for my address in India to confirm that goods could be 'shipped out'. I gave my address details, and emphasised that I wanted to buy the mat domestically, as was advertised on the website additional dropbox or whatever it's called, thereby avoiding international postage costs and import duty.

I waited one full week, but there was no reply, so I mailed Serenithy again to ask whether or not my assumption that the lack of response indicated they had no domestic posting ability in India was correct.

A prompt reply said that the staff person had had a medical emergency and had just got back to work today, and yes, goods could be sent to my address, so I could feel free to order. No mention of domestic supply was made.

I asked yet again about the availability of domestic delivery. The response was, "Just to clarify, we ship from Denmark to almost all countries and we do not have any other offices outside of the country."

This simple information was all I wanted to know. Yet evasion in directly answering the question was used, as well as not replying with follow-up information for a week until I took the initiative to contact them again. The initial mail to them was titled 'Availability in Chandigarh, Punjab' before I clearly outlined my question and reason. Just how clearer does the question need to be? Slyness prevails over integrity in this company. How can such a company with such poor service be trusted?

I've now ordered a mat from a domestic company in a nearby state. Thanks for nothing, Serenithy.

Update, 12 April: The same person, Sarah, of 'customer service' has mailed me with a meticulously polite pseudo explanation pretending that she doesn't quite know what the issue is, and that she's open to opinions to clarify and improve, blah blah.

Pretending innocence through ignorance is tiresome and unprofessional. I replied curtly: "Stop playing games. You're intentionally deceitful to cover your tracks. You'll admit to nothing."

Why waste time, patience, and money on such people?
