This review is about Semilac as a brand, but moreso Semilac Ireland. I bought the top of the semilac range nail drill during the pandemic as I couldn't get to my nail tech to remove my acrylics. I used it once, then put it away until I needed it again urgently last month.
I couldn't get the placeholder piece of metal out of the 'chuck' at the top of the drill. I kept locking and unlocking the tip but it wouldn't open the chuck. During one of the tries I turned the tip a little too far.
The twistable tip came off and two ball bearings fell out. I can see where the ball bearings are supposed to go, but it is impossible to get them back in without a special tool. Nothing is broken in the drill.. it has just come apart.
Long story short, Semilac Ireland was happy to take my money (nearly 200 euro) for the drill, but not in the slightest bit interested in trying to help me find a replacement part or to try and get my drill repaired. The rep was so rude in the email basically saying it was out of warranty and they could do nothing. UK were more helpful in terms of customer service attitude, but because I didn't buy the drill from Semilac UK, they can do nothing to help. (I was not looking for anything to be repaired or replace for free)
This company is truly laughable. Do NOT buy anything mechanical from them. They have no clue how to run a business. I might as well have thrown that money down the toilet. I am absolutely DISGUSTED with Semilac. Absolutely abhorrent customer service. I wanted to give zero stars but I was forced to pick a minimum one star in order to rate them.👎👎👎👎👎
