Trolled me on the phone
They called me once and I said I was not interested in their offer, and they pestered me, asking "why." Since then, they have sent me emails at least once daily. It's been like two months.
BEYOND ANNOYING.

I referred to Semalt to build a strategy for my SEO audit and further steps for promotion my site. They sent me a working plan and price for approval. Information was very well- written, now I receive reports every 2 weeks with all the details, and it's very convenient. if I have some questions, my manager is always online, even after working hours. I do appreciate this greatly.

Sent bots to my website that crashed it. Ignored email requests to cease these activities.
Semalt reported my previous review for wording I chose to use in the hopes the review would be removed. Unfortunately I am more than happy to re-word it so others can see their black-hat business practices.
Edit: Semalt replied to tell me how to exclude their spam from analytics, conveniently skipping over the fact the bot would still visit and overload my server regardless of whether it showed on my analytics report or not..

Semalt sends bots to sites that get some info but the bot visits the sites in milliseconds and this causes harm to the site. Google rewards sites that retain the user so this visit is considered as irelevant to those queries. It scrapes the sites and puts the content on theirs. Anyone using this agency be aware that this is against google guidelines and any quick benefit could be replaced by spammy back links that are duplicate content. We now will put a no access on their bot in all our htaccess files tho forbid the bot accessing our sites. Semalt can refute the negative feedback but I assure you they are qualified and are closed fb groups. I would also question some of these other reviews trying to compensate for Semalt getting caught. Also they are individuals that are making these reviews to stop Semalt duplicating content and posting it as their own. Basically it visits my sites and copies our content and google devalues our sites as not relevant and drops our authority because it has a bounce rate of 100%.They are labeled as a spam referer by incapsula security that uses a huge bot net to hijack hundreds of thousands of computers. Their SEO tool has been found to use Soundfrost malware that basically makes spam referer backlinks. Am sending a memo to John Mueller about their unethical attacks on competitors sites to help their client sites. If you do not understand than Check it out with google. I do not believe these 5 star reviews. No contact has been attempted by this scammy company at all?
An interesting article on kymodo mentioning semalt

This company launches referrer spam campaigns in an effort to increase their business.
Referrer spam is childish and immature... I wouldn't trust this company.
Incapsula, a security company, wrote a blog article about their referrer spam practices.
Update: semalt.com has replied. They are indeed using referrer spam campaigns as I have seen it in my analytics. I still do not trust this company.

Hey, guys!
Thanks for promoting my online English course on Google. I did not expect SEO could be so powerful. I've got much more inquiries since I've subscribed for Semalt FullSEO.
If someone is still skeptical or hesitant, try and see it for yourself.

My SEO manager Calvin Robert is the best so far gone with SEMALT Company, I appreciate semalt for doing great
I have been getting lots of referral SPM from this company as well as having my personal content copied. They can't be trusted and better avoid.

The task was to make a new website for my business, my previous site was little bit messy. I really didn't have time to handle it, so found agency that could help from the first step development to ongoing support. Now my store looks like more compelling, design and structure friendly for users, I'm fully satisfied
I decided to give Semalt a try. After reading so many negative comments, I was really surprised! I'm very happy with the results. Great SEO team, superb service!
I am fully satisfied to work with them. We conducted audit of all problems inside site structure, I solved it. Even now I see the results. Staff is VERY, VERY attentive to details
Semalt is a horribly unscrupulous and dishonest company. As another reviewer noted, Semalt has been sending spam traffic to websites, including all of mine, for years. I've done everything I can to get rid of this spam traffic, but occasionally I see Semalt still showing up in my site analytics.
I'm also a member of several private Facebook groups, and Semalt has been reposting private threads from the groups to its website. This is a violation of the privacy of those group members, who are often asking for help with client issues.
Semalt is dishonest in its dealings, so buyer, please beware.

Publishing private Facebook conversions on their website
1) Semalt have scraped my Facebook content from a private Facebook group and published it on their website for their monetary gain.
2) I see they are also lying here on TrustPilot. They are falsely reporting negative reviews in order to have them removed to try to manipulate their TrustPilot score.
The many recent negative reviews here are REAL reviews. They are not bots.
It's a lot of real people who Semalt have thoroughly annoyed by stealing our content and publishing without permission.
I would be reviewing as 0/5 if zero was an option here.
Update:
Semalt have now reported my review, stating that "We have made several attempts to get in touch with the author of the comment to figure out the issue and solve the problem if it exists. "
That is completely untrue. I am a very easy person to find online. They have made zero effort to contact me. They also have many of my private Facebook posts on their website, some which include my contact information, so all they need to do is look that up.

Semalt has been sending ghost/spam traffic to my website for years, I’ve had to filter it out of analytics.
Also, we’ve learnt today that they have been re-posting content from private FB groups.
While I’m not directly a customer, it’s my duty to warn others and share my opinion

Semalt is scraping Facebook and using people's posts and content without their permission. Furthermore; they are posting the content on their website as their own without attribution or permission in an attempt to rank their website higher in the search results. While they may be based in a country where there are no repercussions, this type of practice will get their clients in trouble.
If you value your business, do not work with these people.
Scam, scrapping and black hats of SEO...
Be warned, this company has used my data and my name on their website. This has been scrapped from Facebook groups that I am a member of and used on their site as publicity to promote their site on Search Engines.
Reading other customer reviews on this site, it is clear that they may well practice the dark arts of black hat SEO. This can only lead to one thing penalties from search engines - You get taught that in SEO 101.
They own 1000s of URLs and these are used to provide backlink traffic. Note that these sites are often non-existent or irrelevant and will, in turn, do more damage to your site than benefit.

The truth is that this company is scraping results from Facebook groups in order to gain greater authority with Google. The reason the negative reviews ARE legit is that they are coming from people who have had the data or their websites or groups scraped and reposted by this company. While it is true that many of these reviewers are NOT customers of Semalt by their own choice, Semalt MADE them customers by stealing their content. I think it makes their reviews of this company as legitimate as any other review, maybe even more so because they did not choose to deal with this company, but were forced to.
Edit: I noticed your "sad" response to this review. I actually provided the proof to Trustpilot. I did not rely on data provided by any others, I relied on what I saw with my own two eyes, and that was content from me (and others) originally placed in private groups on Facebook, and somehow ending up on your website. I saw what appeared to be 1000s of instances of this and personally verified at least 20 instances myself.
