Hilux 3.0 2013

I bought a Toyota Hilix from Select Trucks back in December. After viewing a few in terrible condition I come across Keith's dealership on auto trader, popped down to see him and purchased the truck, it had a very short MOT and needed a couple of little bits to avoid advisories. Keith told me I could either leave it and collect after Christmas or take it as is and bring back in the new year for the work to be carried out and a new mot put on it, I chose the second option. It went back to Keith in January to have these bit sorted and the fresh mot.

It ended up failing and needed a couple of little bits to get it through and so I left it with him. In the mean time I come across some of these reviews and become very skeptical, I had just received a cancer diagnosis and so this wasnt the stress I needed, thinking great its just going to have a dodgy mot put on and given back to me.

However, Keith kept me updated throughout, had all the work done and returned the truck to me.

Ive since had a service carried out by a trusted family friend mechanic who said the truck is in great shape and all work was carried out to a high standard.

I believe alot of these reviews on here are false and borderline slanderous and its not fair on Keith and his team who are trying to run a business. I certainly wouldnt go anywhere else for a truck!

DO NOT BUY FROM KEITH

DO NOT BUY FROM KEITH
Brought a truck from here back in October last year, worst mistake made!
Understandably we was buying an old truck so we was aware it would not be perfect and will have some issues.
There was a few minor things that needed tidying up which Keith did like he said. However, there was also a couple of more important things that he claimed he couldn’t get the parts for another month and he would either send them to us or let us know so we can bring the truck to have them fitted.
Admittedly a big mistake we made was trusting someone and taking the truck.
After months of terrible lies and ignored phone calls he has admitted he can’t get the parts and has sent us the money for them.

Keith mate if your going to be a dodgy dealer at least get better at lying.

So you buy a very old pick up we try and source the parts. This takes time Due to age we could not get the part so we sent you money as compensation. Parts were not stopping the vehicle being used just cosmetic. You also mention we did do what we said. These reviews are very frustrating so we have not actually done anything wrong. What part of that is a dodgy dealer. Honestly we have sold 22 pick ups this month and do most months .a customer pointed out to us half these one star reviews are just drunken rants. i agree

Don’t buy…

Bought a l200 4x4 from Keith 4 months ago, was ok to start with apart from having to drive it back & forth 4 times to sort various things with the truck out ( a 2 and half hour round trip after work in the evenings…) without really a proper apology. Previous MOT stated an oil leak, he said if it started leaking to take it back & he’d sort it, he even wrote this on invoice paper which we have a copy of. Took it back to him , he said it didn’t have an oil leak, took it to a garage near our home , the truck actually had THREE different oil leaks, 2 engine and 1 power steering leak. The rust on the car hidden with paint was also dissatisfying to say the least. Knowing how much we spent on the truck and the hundreds we’ve already spent on it since, is absolutely disappointing.

Avoid like the plague!

I really wanted to be able to give keith a good review however he is the stereotypical car salesman who let's the industry down. Promises lots, delivers nothing. I bought a 2014 hilux from Keith which on paper looked great. Stupidly I viewed it inside his garage which is nice and dark and makes it more difficult to see the real condition of the vehicle. Mine had been given a load of paint underneath making it look fine but a £1500 welding bill showed this was not the case. When I picked the car up the rear canopy handle was broken, he promised to replace this, nothing has happened. I've chased him many times, with continuous promises it will get sorted, still nothing. When I spoke with him about the rust he got angry and told me "he was fed up of people moaning about rust". I had a siezed front caliper from the day I drove it away, he told me that is wear and tear and wouldn't be covered under any warranty. As per many of his reviews, Keith comes across as a very pleasant person but sadly he is a liar and will not honour anything he tells you. Read the bad reviews and trust them, it's not worth the risk.

Jordan is a servicing policeman who has chosen to ignore our request to bring it back and let us inspect it. He THinks we should just transfer him money when he wants. chooses to try and bully us with threats and " I hope you enjoy your review" Anyone who visits our place of work we will happily show you all the whats app messages on any of these reviews. Sadly when people do not get their own way the first response is I wil leave you a bad review. We sell 20 pick ups a month and have done for the last ten years .. do the maths. People only leave reviews when they do not get what they want.

I brought a toyota hilux from kieth…

I brought a toyota hilux from kieth long. Really nice guy . He didn't have what I wanted but soon found a hilux for me. He sold the truck saying it was mint ( it was not ) taking my ford transit custom as part ex all good . After a very short time (driving home ) I found front brakes are on there way out. Respect to kieth He had the truck in quickly and put new brakes on it. I also found out the tires was balding on the edges and very cracked al round . He mentioned he would ( i have a voice message that I have still got and messages ) replace them . I did say I wanted all terrain tires and he agreed he would give me what he pays for 2 tires in money towards some new all terrain. After him saying he was in hospital and he would send some money when he gets out . All I got was radio silence I even messaged him to see how he was getting on still nothing. In that time I found my rear brake cluster was cracked letting in water rear break lines heavily corroded. The canopy has a crack in it letting in water the lock for the canopy is seized solid rear drop down tail gate wont lock . After alot of my money I have it sorted . I just hope nothing else untoward just come up. He said i have 3 months warranty and only honored it with the breaks. And to top it off the truck has done 10k more miles than it says. Kieth said it was a mistake with the mot station lol . I have a good truck now but if you buy a truck from kieth be very careful. Don't trust him like I did.

If you purchased a tv from currys and it was faulty you would contact currys. Anyone who visits our place of work we will happily show you all the whats app messages on any of these reviews. I Purchased a Van from Select Trucks…

I purchased a van from Select Trucks Ltd last week. I cannot fault the Customer Service, friendliness and knowledge.
The van has a full years MOT and they even corrected the advisories.
They could not do enough for us and certainly exceeded our expectations.
I would highly recommend them.

Thank you Select Trucks

100% Recommend Select Trucks

We had been to see a few rangers at different garages but the salesmen were all too pushy and the trucks weren’t great. Our next one on our list was at select trucks. We are careful but sensible people and we read reviews on holidays, products, places and businesses beforehand and take them with a pinch of salt so although they have a few not great reviews, the overall thoughts and experiences of buyers were very positive so we went to see the Ranger. To say Keith is NOT a pushy car salesman is an understatement- he is very knowledgeable and let us make our own mind up in our own time and as the Ranger was in such good condition, despite being 14 years old, we had complete trust in Keith so we bought it. We are over the moon with it and he said if we had any worries or queries or problems to contact him and he would help. I would highly recommend Keith and his garage.

BEWARE OF SCAM GARAGE -lies about service history

BEWARE OF SCAM GARAGE
I have not bought from this garage, but I did see a Facebook marketplace post from Keith Long selling a 2006 Mitsubishi L200 4x4. In his post he says it has a full service history. THIS IS A LIE. How do I know? I sold this same vehicle to we buy any car less then 4 weeks ago. A vehicle I had for over 6 years and serviced myself. When buying originally I was given no service history and I sold it with out one. When asked about the service history proof I was told by Keith himself that it had 10 stamps at Mitsubishi and specialists. When I quickly told him that 1. This is not correct as this was my vehicle and 2. He is lying about it having a cam belt replaced last year and provided proof that this used to be my vehicle he quickly blocked me. Keith, how about you don’t lie? And if you want to come back and say this is a “story” and there’s “2 sides” like you have done previously I have picture proof of everything.

**Beware** Beware**This garage is not…

**Beware** Beware**This garage is not accredited and does not subscribe to the Motor Vehicle Ombudsman scheme, which can protect consumers, if you are sold a vehicle which is not roadworthy as I have recently found. I bought a pick up from Keith Long, owner of the garage who will reassure you that he sells to Police Officers for their personal use. I was sold the pick up in person by Keith Long which I know now, was not roadworthy at the point of sale and I am currently trying to get a full refund which is not forthcoming. Do not trust that the mot you have been given makes your vehicle roadworthy, it does not.

We do not normally reply to reviews but, as there are two sides to every story, we want to elaborate that the above is a story and nothing more. We have many customers who are serving police officers and this was only discussed due to your family's involvement with the Police. Select Trucks did NOT MOT the above vehicle, the previous owner had the MOT done. The MOT has had NO advisories on corrosion for the last 5 years and there were no problems with it when you bought it in August 2024. If you have damaged your vehicle 6 months after purchasing it, doing whatever you bought a pick up for, that is your responsibility and not ours. We are not to blame.

Reliable, reasonably priced trucks!

Needing a new vehicle in a very short space of time, I went to Select Trucks in the hopes of finding something reliable and within my budget. Keith was extremely welcoming upon arrival and helped me find my ideal truck within the hour! Any queries I've had, Keith has been quick to deal with. Honestly, if you're looking for someone who is customer focused and very knowledgeable in the truck trade, Keith is your guy! I highly recommend his company.
