I have been cheated as they took price of new sofa and gave dirty showroom model

I have a complaint. I brought the sofa from seats and sofa mijdrecth shop.

I paid for the new sofa in full and you delivered me the exact showroom model that I saw . The delivery guy also mentioned me that it’s a showroom model. Also the young salesman in the shop told that you don’t have the new in white but the elder salesman mentioned to us that will get a new one.

Attached are the pictures of the same.

As I cannot comment on the seats and sofa response, I am writing here:
I went to seats and sofas mijdrecht yesterday evening and the point of contact in the shop and salesman accepted that the employee did fraud and send me the old and dirty showroom model to my house.

They also accepted in front of my Dutch friend ( I took him for fill the language gap) that a solution will be provided asap. Also the existing showroom model was out of there and placed in my house. They took all my details but no response. I also raised complaint and sent the email to midrecht and customer service

Fraud company running shady business practice

We went to check Sofa in this shop, after checking model which is called Argentina, the initial price quoted was 6400 eur , which was out of our budget and vey expensive for sofa. The salesman asked us our budget to which I mentioned around 4000 Eur, so he said he will talk to his supervisor and see if he can get us discount. After 5 mins , he said his boss agreed and offered 4000 Eur for Sofa. We were new in NL and in middle of move, we didn't think much and bought the sofa.
The sofa was delivered within agreed time (6 weeks). however we noticed the finishing of the sofa is not clean and fabric is having folds and is loose. I wrote an email to customer care and I got below response.

"We would like to point out that the upholstery on a new piece of furniture is tight and stiff. With use, the upholstery becomes more supple, depending on the elasticity of the material, which has a softening effect on comfort. This elasticity will also cause casual wrinkling. This wrinkling varies per upholstery material (fabric and leather type), even per leather skin and seat width. With softer fillings, this casual wrinkling will be more present than with harder fillings. An important property of the filling, springs and upholstery is that the initial hardness decreases by approximately 10% to 15% in the first few months.

After this initial period of use, also known as the settling-in period, the comfort level is optimal. You should allow 3 to 4 months for this.

This is the seating comfort you can count on for years to come. To create a softer comfort immediately upon use of seat cushions made of polyurethane foam or cold foam, you can gently push your knee into the seat cushions a few times.

It is important that you load all seats evenly during this settling-in period, to ensure the guarantee on the fillings. All seating furniture must be used for several months to experience optimum seating comfort. Cushions adapt to body weight and can form themselves to it. The support of the seat also becomes more flexible as the seating furniture is loaded more often and can therefore lose some of its firmness.

This is a normal and natural process and not a fault of or in the product.

If, despite the above information, you believe that your report falls outside the usual margins, we would like to hear from you and we will immediately start working on dealing with your problem as quickly as possible.
We would like to point out that if your report does not concern a production error, any costs incurred will be charged to you."

After an year, I wrote another email which went unanswered , after following up again , they asked us to bring sofa on a specific date to the branch. Now, its our responsibility to carry a 7 seater sofa and bring it back . The customer service wants to make it difficult for people if there are any problems .

After 1.5 years of usage we are noticing the seats are softer and sagging on the side that are used more.

Overall the quality of product and service is below mediocre. Avoid this shop and look elsewhere to buy furniture

Non responsive customer support team

I had a request to reduce the size of right arm of Sofa within 2days of my order, that was handle very swiftly by the @seats and sofas. However, while checking revised order copy, I observed that the original price of individual components were inflated to match the earlier order price. I was taken by surprise as I was expecting reduction in the price. I sent few emails but no response so far. I called the shop and agent informed me the change in size will have 15-20 eur impact on the total prize. What if I have increased the size, will Seat and Sofas will charge me only 15-20eur extras? Sure, not. It will be 300-400eurs. So why not give benefits to the customer when they get the size reduced compared to the order one. I am still waiting for the official email response from Seats and Sofas but almost 3 weeks passed no response
Hence, I have to write the experience in the public forum. Hope I will be informed in the coming days with transparent pricings.

VERY BAD experience with my purchase in…

VERY BAD experience with my purchase in Seatsandsofas megastore. Bought the furniture from Mijdrecht megastore by last week of March 2024.
One of the furniture leg got broken within two weeks and after contacting the megastore got to know that they dont have logistics and we have to take care of the transportation costs of the sofa to the megastore so as to get it fixed . Once they fixed ( after around 6 weeks of waiting time ) , I brought the sofa back.

And then within ten days its broken again. And when I get in touch with the customer service ( after several follow ups), they ask me again to go through the same waiting time to get it fixed. I don't want to go through the same again.
Its really tiring and time consuming. I have already raised multiple complaints and responses from the service remains the same that I bring the sofa for repair and get that fixed.
This is not what I expected when I made the purchase . As a first time buyer of Sofa , total disappointment with the purchase

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

My personal experience is a complete disaster, I bought an Alicante coach for EUR1000 that comes with 2 pieces, the side piece, where you can use it as a small cupboard, has 2 springs on both sides, these 2 were broken, worst quality, they were nice enough to accept to replace them however it's been almost 2 month awaiting for it to be ready and till now nothing!! every time I am calling or going there I am getting different information. There is only one nice lady there looks like who is responsible for the service requests and if she is not there you are doomed no one has an idea about your request. She requested to replace these springs a month and half before and it never comes!! and God knows when it will come. My coach still there and still struggling with this ... I do not recommend it at all, it is a waste of money, time and nerve.

Despite many bad reviews I still purchased the sofa here as , my first experience in 2018 was good. Unfortunately I regret buying sofa with them again. The sofa we bought was not available in mijdrect branch although it was purchased here and it was available only at Eindhoven branch. so we had to spend 165 EUR to get it delivered to our home from Eindhoven. Unfortunately the sofa was damaged not during the transport but originally a damaged piece. The company agreed to repair the sofa but we have to end up paying for transport charges to bring the sofa to their branch and they were not ready to take the liability despite the product came damaged and it was not our mistake. We have tried speaking to the customer care departments of both Eindhoven and Mijdrect but we ended up receiving the same response. I know this review is not going to make any changes but Atleast the new customers who are planning to buy sofa from here should know what situation they could end up to if their sofa is damaged. The weird thing is, the head office person said that they are not obliged to explain these policies while selling the sofa to us. If known beforehand, we wouldn’t have purchased the sofa from here. What a regret after paying so much !!!

After a week, we called the Mijdrecht branch to check if the storage box has been ordered if they have any tentative date of delivery. To my surprise the customer support lady is so rude and yelling at my husband for asking this question as she said I already gave the answer a week before and I do not know when the storage will be delivered. She could have answered this politely too and the store manager was very rude and disconnected the phone. He says the lady became rude as she doesn’t want to spend time answering for the same question. How rude is that ???!!! We as a customer have all rights to know about the status of the situation and we have not even received an email about the order of the storage box. In such case how do we even know if the order has been placed or not without calling them. They Should teach their staff on how to treat the customers post selling the product and not just for selling a product. RUDE COMPANY. REGRET BUYING HERE.

bad customer care and bad after sales support

After waiting 16 weeks for a new foot repair and the couch was delivered with a broken foot. The repair man came to my house for the second time and the couch is still not fixed.

The first time he came out to have a look at what is wrong and take pictures of everything just to come back a few weeks later, bringing a new foot which also was broken and not the correct one. Now a new one needs to be ordered again.

He did not fix anything on the sofa as reported about the springs coming loose and damaged the fabric.(the springs and fabric broke with in 2 weeks of owning the couch )

Really not happy things break after a few days of having it and have to wait months to have it fixed in this case not fixed.

one would think if you pay this much(2500 Euro) for a sofa it would not break.

I would definitely not recommend them at all as you need to even pay for shipping back to them to fix their defects.
