Science Museum Reviews 

I'm so surprised by the poor reviews, we had a fantastic time. Myself, my kids (8 & 12) and my Mum (68) has so much fun. It's free!!! My children were fully engaged as there are many interactive bits to look at. We ate in the diner and although a little pricey (where isn't in London) the food was tasty and the tables etc were clean and service fast. There were a few school groups there but it didn't ruin the experience at all. The space hall was a little busy but everything else was fine. Didn't feel rushed or overcrowded at all. We visited on a Friday (as the kids had inset day) and I would absolutely consider doing this again. My youngest rated it a 10/10 so what more can you ask for?

I had a great day out here and as a disabled person found it very easy to access.

The museum is much smaller than it used to be. There were quite a few temporary exhibits and not much else. The hands on activity area was fun but quite a few exhibits weren't working properly or had pieces missing. Very disappointing. Wouldn't recommend and won't be returning.

Need to sort out the queue for the lates for people who paid tickets.

Only €9 so wasn't expecting excellence, but it was definitely much worse than years past. Very boring, lots of placards that need reading and not enough interactive stuff. Lots of exhibits were just broken/not working. I'd pay €9 just to visit this magnificent building but as a museum of science? dissappointing.
Cafe ok but no vegan food.. c'm on guys its 2024!!

For a free-entry museum, this is really excellent. You need to pay for some exhibits and experiences but they were worth it. It’s also massive and you can easily spend the whole day there in order to explore everything leisurely. Avoid the cafe and the restaurant though as it’s not very good yet very pricey. Overall, I can still highly recommend.

SCIENCE MUSEUM SM. Absolutely fantastic , yesterday Friday, while the girls were Wedding Dress shopping in London ~ like Randy Fenoli Kleinfeld's NYC USA. Went here SM. free to get in but donated £5 ~ $6 best fiver I have spent this year, its the quality of the exhibits [ Please donate its worth it this or more ! thx ] , anyway the quality as well as all the up to date tech to explain everything : Honestly overwhelmed as a Chartered Engineer ! So much room so big airy , very pleasant staff , a very positive experience , lunch there was a joy ,
loads of facilities as well , thank you 👏👏👏👏👏/🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 , patron Prince Albert ( Queen Victoria 1819–1901) would be very proud ~ when it, SM was nicknamed the ‘Brompton Boilers’ Gratitude Graham (UK).

Took our two children aged 6 and 8 and they loved it, especially the WonderLab which is very interactive and has regular presentations and demonstrations (rockets, electricity, sound etc), all good fun. We visited when there were a couple of schools attending so, as mentioned by other reviewers, it was noisy in places and difficult to hear some of the audio being played. It thinned out a lot after 3pm so perhaps visiting towards the end of the day is the best bet. I loved the Clockmakers Museum and in my view it's worth a visit just for that - one of the oldest collections of clocks and watches anywhere in the world, and a significant part of English history. We ate lunch in one of the cafes which was fine, both hot and cold options, although the variety wasn't expansive, plenty of seating. There are so many exhibits to see that with kids in tow it is inevitably difficult to spend the time needed to absorb it all. Like the Nat History Museum and IWM, will need more than one visit to get the best of it. I think for young kids you need to take advantage of the extra exhibits, like the WonderLab, that you have to pay for. Without this the experience would not have been as memorable for them. However, the cost becomes prohibitive and whilst we would have also liked to take them to the Music experience we opted to restrict the visit to the WonderLab only. As mentioned by others we found the booking experience on-line quite frustrating, having to select times of entry and exhibits to pay for almost put us off the visit altogether, especially as we were travelling from outside London. That being said, the museum itself is a very good visit and has much to see, and if you're a keen horologist the Clockmaker's Museum on the second floor is a must.

Dreadful and unnecessary online ticket “purchase”. Deafening audio description in the space hall. Give it a miss unless you’re about 5 years old.

I recently went out and had a good time there I gained quite good knowledge about the past history of this country.

It’s a wonderful day out with kids specially when something is free. Plenty to do inside including some activities , cafe, shopping.

We had a nice time with two adults and a 2 year old interested boy. Garden area closed for some reason. Given we didn't do any paid activities (so not commenting on those) was a nice day out

Great museum, but the online ticketing process is unnecessarily complicated. I almost didn't attend because the booking was awkward.

Why are you asking visitors to create an account when we're just visiting once?

On top of that you require a complicated password with upper and lower case letters plus digits PLUS special characters?

Planning to offer a banking service too or sell me a mortgage???

We went to see the Apollo photograph exhibition. The photographs were amazing BUT they had been put in the corner of what seemed to be a children’s refectory where about 80 children under 8 yrs of age were having their packed lunch creating a horrendous noisy background to this exhibition. The photographs were too close together and the explanation cards were so low adults had to bend down to read them. The introduction to the exhibition was next to the last photo. This collection deserved better.

I found the I Max Antarctica show to be poor value for money - £10 to view 20 minutes of adverts followed by a 40-minute show which is not dissimilar to what can be seen on BBC, except in 3D. I don't begrudge them the income, but paying to see adverts?

We took our grandchildren (2 and 4) to the Science Museum especially for the children’s experience, The Garden, in the Basement. This was so, so disappointing given the brilliant displays all around the museum. What went wrong?

They need to stop funding FOSSIL FEULS and think about our children's and grandchildrens futures
