We purchased a home in London from Saha that they had recently refurbished. It was previously a single home that had been refurbished and extended into two flats - a garden flat and a duplex apartment.

The home looked great when we viewed it, the finishing touches were great and the quality of kitchen fittings, radiators, light fittings, doors /windows, bathrooms were great.

However, when we began to live there, the problems became evident from the first week onwards. We had water leaking from the roof, water leaking from showers, damp coming from external walls and plaster cracking up on walls. Saha reminded up that it was a buyers responsibility once the contracts were exchanged. So we got contractors in to fix them. What was most disappointing is that all of the issues, every single issue, were due to poor workmanship from Saha.

Few examples:
1. We had an extension where the cement used between bricks could be dug into with bare fingers as it was mostly sand.
2. We had a patio door installed in a way that water was allowed into the main structure, causing much damp and massive repairs.
3. Bricks that were not designed for outdoor use were used for external work, causing the plaster to come off. 3 years in, the exterior of the house looked so dated we were a bit embarassed.
4. We had external lighting where instead of waterproof junction boxes intended for outdoor use, they use normal junction boxes wrapped up in plastic bags. Needless to say, rains would cause the mains to trip.

I understand all homes will have maintenance and repairs that need to be done, but the issues were caused due to poor workmanship and design from the start that were part of the enhancements the Saha group made.

The whole experience has made us a much wiser when buying our next home, and hopefully the feedback is now heard and Saha decide to do something with it and pick up their game.
