SafetyNet provides flexible credit that is easy to manage and minimises costs, with a limit of up to £1,000.
Responsible lending
Here at SafetyNet, we are committed to lending responsibly, which means we are very careful when choosing how much to lend to our customers. We carry out strict, bespoke affordability checks using a customer’s credit file and bank transaction data. We will only lend what we believe to be affordable and will not cause our customers financial difficulty.
Automatic repayments
SafetyNet repayments are designed to be taken automatically:
  • Minimising the length of time a balance is outstanding
  • Saving you interest
If, after a payment comes into your account (your salary, for example), and you have enough available balance to make a repayment, our system will apply for up to 50% of your calculated disposable income.
  • We will only attempt for repayments up to this defined value in one calendar month
  • Once this limit has been reached, no further automatic repayments will be taken
  • This may be different from the minimum payment you must make each month
How do you access my bank data?
Access to your data is via a secure, encrypted channel under the government initiative of Open Banking. We collect the following information direct from your bank (once you have granted access);
  • Bank account number and sort code
  • Transaction data
  • Balance data

Dodgy company

Dodgy company
I was having about a year of no issues or complaints. Always paid on time or even sooner and it was really handy. This month out of the blue I was told "i was no longer eligible for credit" and it would be apparently "unaffordable for me". They then proceeded to take ALL the money owed in one go without notice. Ironically leaving me in a terrible position this month until payday....shocking service.

Edit: resubmitted as they apparently managed to remove the review. Because they're totally not dodgy you see

Years off issues with this company

Years off issues with this company. They sold the loan to a debt management company. I paid the balance i have proof via emails and bank statements. Two weeks i paid them Safety net finally contacted me after 6 months and told me they recalled the loan 6 months ago in Nov 21 and i owe them the outstanding amount. i've sent them all the proof i have paid this debt management company, they are not having it. They then sent it to another debt collection agency who have sent it back to them because.....surprise surprise no contact and also they could clearly see this has been paid off. I told them numerous times and tripped them up of a few issues yet they cant accept it. please please please avoid at all cost.

If i could put no stars i would!! Horrible company get absolutly piled with interest so you cant pay back! You pay what you can afford only to go back the next month and its just back onto your balance you put money into your bank for bills and they just take it adding more stress! Vile!

AVOID

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! This company is the DEVIL! Safety net will put you in a vicious cycle of debt if you are using it for long term purposes only! They will dip their greedy fingers into your bank account taking huge sums of money without your consent! They are VERY SNEAKY! If you do decide to borrow money from them please make sure you have money saved so you dont end up re-borrowing money that they have taken to re- put back into your bank account. If you are not on a frequent flow of borrowing and repaying they will reduce your eligibility loan especially if they see that you are using other credit card lenders. Please beware and know what you are doing!

Same as the previous review. Complained about irresponsible lending, took it to FOS who went in my favour, asked for my bank details to process my refund on 5th Jan 2023, gave them my details on 9th January 2023, only for them to go into administration and be told I won't be my money back, but see that they're still lending to current customers! If they have the money to still lend out, then they obviously have the money to process a refund.

And for me they were a bad loan…

And for me they were a bad loan company, I was their client for several years, but only because when they took money from his account, I had to borrow again because they charged up to 750 pounds, so I was in a dead end at my own request. And now they had to give me back the money after Christmas when I called they said that I would have a transfer soon and the day before the time expired they announced that they were going to the administration. They just turned out to be scammers

Fantastic
