Been using Sky Insurance now Safely Insured for years. Never had an issue, they are always extremely competitive for me. They are great, as a car insurance broker, I am always worried who I am really insured with and if worst happens how smooth it will go. Hopefully I will never find out.

This insurance company is a rip off, charging excessive prices for additional miles onto the existing policy. And even at the end, they didn’t offer a renewal policy. Won’t be returning and certainly don’t recommend.

Have used safely insured for a few years now on and off for modified car insurance. The guys and gals there are great, clear and open regarding the fine details when insuring my car. Luke particularly was a star this year and managed to beat my renewed price alongside many other insurers which for some reason would even insure me atall this time round ?! Thanks again

I arrived at Safely Insured via Go Compare.com, because I needed temporary driver's insurance for my son to drive us in our car to the airport. My wife and I are both pensioners, and this was the best option for us. The quote from safely insured was £183 for 18 days, which I find rather I watering, but it seems the only option. Unfortunately, since communication is only via the rather stuttery chat box, I was never given any other advice than this was the only option. However, having spent, £183 I realised that even though my regular Insurance Quote Me Happy did not do temporary insurance, I could easily put my son on our regular policy as an additional driver for NO CHARGE whatsoever.
I immediately got back to Safely Insured to cancel the policy and claim my money back, as I might of expected from any reasonable transaction in life, expecting some sort of cooling off period. Despite the tick box of 'no refund' I recently thought that my circumstance would warrant getting my money back. However, having spent hours explaining the situation, the reasoning is simply Safely Insured will not pay a refund because they won't - because they can't -because they said so. I asked for some logical explanation or even moral latitude, but none was forthcoming.
Eventually, I found a phone number 03303331251for Safely Insured and I have to say a very reasonable operative took my call immediately and calmly expressed the views I've outlined here.
I firmly believe the conditions and operating standards of safely insured are well below standard and in my situation I'm deeply disappointed that I will just simply be losing £183.
My advice is do not use Safely Insured and if you want temporary drivers insurance just try adding the person to your regular Car Insurance. It might be not just cheaper but completely free of charge.

I didn't end up taking a policy with SafelyInsured so I can't comment on that aspect of their service.
I simply wanted to leave a positive review for Luke T. Whilst a lot of insurance companies claim to be staffed by people that are passionate and knowledgable about modified cars, this often isn't the case, and you get through to another 'computer says no' type that tries to force a policy on you before you hang up. However, Luke T was exactly that, knowledgable and passionate about recording all the details of my modified car. Luke also tried to bring the price down for me, but ultimately it didn't match up to what I had from another insurer and importantly I wasn't pressured into taking the policy. A big thumbs up for Luke, who I'll be asking for next year come renewal time.

I have been driving for 25 years, have used a plethora of motor insurance companies and I would not use this company again if my life depended upon it.
We used this company for my son’s first year of driving, initially as learner insurance extending it to a fully comprehensive policy, with a black box, for his first year of driving (or so we thought) once he’d passed his test.
Their business model appears to be centred around extorting money from young people (the policy cost us c.£1400 for him to be insured on a 1L Fiesta) and then finding any reason possible to cancel the policy using the telematics of the black box prior to cancelling the policy once you have reached a set number of mileage, not the policy renewal date. Of course, cancelling the policy absolves them of all risk.
At the outset, the black box gives you peace of mind as a parent. You think it will stop your precious offspring driving dangerously or speeding. Au contraire! They would appear to find any tenuous reason to harass the policy holder with persistent phone calls with their ‘three strikes and you’re out’ policy. Not just for exceeding the speed limit but exceeding the average speed of other drivers on a particular road, excessive acceleration/breaking etc.
I had to tell them to stop on one occasion and call me instead as my son was emerging from his A-Level exams with multiple missed calls and threatening emails. For a young person to face the prospect of paying more for their future premiums because an overzealous company has cancelled their previous policy is not a welcome thought….and, if they cancel the policy there is no longer any risk of a claim.
Then we come to this morning. 18 days before the end of the policy and only six days before he goes off to university (where his costs are about to sky-rocket), leaving the car at home. Six days. That’s all he required. He’s reached his annual mileage limit and they’re cancelling his insurance. No more insurance and no first year’s no claim bonus. No gesture of goodwill to see him through an extra six days of insurance because he hasn’t claimed to this date. No mention of how many of the miles were accrued on private land (where car insurance is not required) or whom the car was driven by.
Having made over £1400 out of us so far, how much do they require for an extra 500 miles on his policy (which is the minimum they will do)? £137, that’s how much. That’s’ how they upsell. Thanks a bunch Edward and Natasha!
Of course, all this is buried in their Ts and Cs and any retort is centred around that. Naively, we thought we were purchasing a year’s policy like the 25 years of policies have done in the past. I was wrong and wish I’d paid a little extra to use a reputable insurer, not Safely Insured. They will not be receiving my custom again. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid at all cost.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Ripped us off completely. Take £69 deposit I paid for daughters insurance policy. Then said they would need to validate with daughter. Send you a number to call and then put you in a long queue. They then cancel your policy after 7 days and refuse to pay you back your £69 even though tried sorting almost everyday.
I am now seeking legal advice and speaking wih trading standards. Luckily my daughter recorded the wait time on one occasion so I will be seeing this bunch in small claims court!
UPDATE: As per request, tried to discuss further but when I called they stated they couldnt discuss as the policy is in my Daughters name. Now revert back to initial complaint, daughter not being able to get in touch. However we shall try. These guys charge you £50+ quid for them not answering their phone after sending me what now appears to be a wrong number.

So far so good. This is my third year of insuring with them. After getting some comedy insurance quotes off some of the mainstream insurance brokers Safely Insured gave me a lower quote than the previous years premium. I haven’t had to claim yet or I hope I never have to. Keep up the good work.
Gave a quote for my sons insurance, we accepted the quote and paid for the quote and all was confirmed. 20 minutes later they call to say that they can't offer us the policy! The money, £800 odd hasn't been returned 2 days later! Cowboys
