Still in a quandary

As if it wasn’t bad enough this company stole £7000 from us my husband died last year and we had already taken out 2 more plans from Dignity which we paid a further £4000 for i destroyed the previous plans in disgust of losing my husband….last week I received 2 cheques from the administration of Safehands amounting to £271.80 but they’re in my husbands name therefore I can’t cash them, also after phoning the number on the attached letter it was an automated number which required details including the policy number which I cannot give so I got nowhere as the voice on the phone states if you can’t give all this info then hang up as they can’t help you.
I then wrote a lengthy email giving all the info explaining my situation and what I need to give them to prove im the sole beneficiary of our estate…I had a email back with info on how to enter a portal which I cannot do as my husbands email address is required to do that and that was made obsolete after he passed away so I haven’t had any correspondence from them at all not even an indication that they have received my email. My concern is also that the attached letter with the cheques stated that this was an interim payment which leads me to believe there may be more to come so im furious that if my “Dilemma” is not resolved I can lose what little monies they are paying me with cheques I cannot cash.

When will we get some of our money back

I have lost money with this company and being a pensioner cannot afford to take out another plan. I registered to get updates via the IPS Creditor Portal which i receive but it is all in legal jargon which is impossible to understand unless you are a lawyer. All i want to know is when i will get some money back, and how much as do we all that lost money from this robbing firm. The CEO should be held accountable and investigated

Here l am again .writing about safe…

Here l am again .writing about safe hands funeral plan.
Almost 2 years ago that l wrote my last review ,still no word from the administators of save hands .
Before Christmas l read somewhere that safe hands is being investigated by the police .How can these people sleep at night ,knowing that they have taken or lost innocent peoples money ,what have they done with it .l know l and like many other people can't sleep at night wondering if anything happens to us ,that our families may have to go into debt to pay for our funerals .The main reason we took out a funeral plan in the first place ,was to save our families the burden of going into debt. This upsets me so much.
When will we get our money back
It is said that if we claim from the administrators we could only get 5 to 10pence in the pound .
Still angry has like alot of the people who took out a plan can't afford another one x

Assured that my money would be safe in…

Assured that my money would be safe in a trust I signed up for the Pearl funeral plan, made the first payment of £500 on 31st March 2017, followed by £33.31 each month, then paid a lump sum to complete the £3,355 feeling confident all was sorted. Now I am bewildered by what feels like LEGAL ROBBERY! as I will not be getting what I paid for, nor will I be getting a refund - I have only been contacted twice with no information to tell me how I can get at least some of the money back that I am owed. The Administrators have spent about 7 million pounds of the money they have found so far and then packed up after one year, don't know how many of us got any money back, but I don't know where to turn to get help,as now I am not able to fund another funeral plan, and frankly don't think it would be wise to trust any other company now.

Disappointed, years of investment gone

Was happy when I finished the payment as I said I am safe now and my family do not need to worry about my funeral plan. A month after I paid my funeral plan, Safe Hands gone into Administration. I heard to other company will take over, Dignity and another one. I received letter saying if you paid in full, we will transfer your money into your chosen company so I was reassured. To my surprise, I received a letter from Dignity who asking me to pay a discount price at £1.944 after I paid £3500 to Safe Hands. So be prepare for that.
So where does my money gone? The agent I spoke to said I have to check with FRP who do not answer their calls neither emails.
Where do I stand?

I nnearly had my plan paid for by for a few months when they went into administration.
FRP were dealing with the administration and were going to refund me a very small amount of my funds back. The problem I now have is FRP will not respond to recorded letters or emails to tell me everything was in place and the closing date for claims is 13.12.22

Dignity stepped up on behalf of safe hands

This is a follow up review having had my dad's plan move from safe hands to dignity. It worked out that as he passed prior to end of Oct 22 that the policy goes to dignity who will honour a basic funeral package to the value of £2200. Anything extra regardless of what package you have then you have to pay on top.
Anyway dignity passed us over to a directors close by and this covered costs of service and cremation and celebrant. They have been vwry efficent to be honest. Sadly this still doesn't help those fortunate to live past Oct 2022 but I wish you all the best in hopefully recovering some of the losses.

Check if FCA registered before parting with money on funeral plans

Was guided by a will writing service ( Paragon Legal Services Ltd) to invest in a funeral plan.
I actually asked the question, what happens if they go bankrupt....was assured the plan is taken over by someone else who honour it in full.
* To find that is not the case!
* Cannot get information on how much money I can expect back.
* Paid £3500 now need to pay £2200 to have the cover.

Safe Hands (joke)

Took out a sapphire plan for myself in 2017 finished paying it in 2019. After my husband died aged 51 with a heart attract totally out of the blue thought I would have a funeral plan in order to protect my two daughters the grief and expense of dealing with my funeral.
Safe Hands assured me that the money I paid for my plan would be kept in trust till the time it was neaded.💩Total crap. Now left with no plan, won't get my £3500 back be lucky to get anything back from this fraud of a company. Letter received today from safe hands with a discount to take out the same plan I had with dignity will cost another 2000 and odd pounds bringing my funeral plan to just under £6000. Ile just go out to that tree out back and pick the money of that. Totally sick to my stomach what this company has done to people who were only trying to do the right thing by thier families. Surly the financial ombudsman should be able to help us. We have paid for something we won't receive and we will not get the money back we have paid. Worth a try. Nothing else left to loose.... Company directors should also be prosecuted for theft and fraud. Nothing but SCUM......

Heartless & dishonourable!!!

Absolutely sickened to the bone. We bought 4 plans in 2016 for £10,460. One each for my husband & I, where in our late 70's, the other 2 for our severely disabled grandchildren who are both short term expectancy of life. Totally disgusted on how some people can hold their head high whilst deliberately planning to steal off vulnerable, disabled and elderly people. Hope they all rot in hell!!!!!!

Safe hands pre payment funeral plan.

Took out this plan and paid in full by cheque. Now its all gone. Scammers the lot of them. I'm a disabled man and wanted to leave my partner no worries about the funeral when I depart this earth. Feel sickened by all this, not sure if I will get any of my money back. Unless the Government steps in. Hope they bring these people to justice. If you can call them people.

Nearly finished my plan

Nearly finished my plan. Been done over like a kipper. My husband passed away on 7the may 2022 I could have used my plan to pay for his funeral but I had to pay full as safe hands plan gone. I am disgusted by the way we have all been douped into believing that our money was secure.
The government are regulating company's now but what about the thousands of us that have been left high and dry. Tax Bill's even administration are going to make sure they get paid but we who have paid in get nearly nothing. Our money has gone and due to administration etc. They will get their money for just paperwork etc we paid in and nothing out.
Government should step in, in this I call a crisis for thousands.
