Is he still out there?

I'm writing this as even 4 years later there's been an attempt to discredit and remove my original review.

I believe this is a bogus attempt connected to the operator of S8 Computers.

Let me make it clear - the business is a one man, living room operation. It resembles a hoarder's residence; clutter, dis-organised, unfinished, littered with parts, boxes, mess everywhere.

The man himself is rambling, talks tangentally and never stops.

It's a carefully considered opinion that I believe he has mental health issues. It makes what happened, in a way, understandable. However, it's just not a risk to take when handing such a person valuable electronic equipment.

I recommend you avoid this business, any home chaos cave when destruction rules.

Whether he's still out there in some other guise I don't know but remember - I had to get the Police involved. That's a fact.

It's a fact of such importance that you should consider very carefully.

He's incompetent at best and dangerous at worst.

Be warned.

Tony Carter is a very vile and abusive man who if you look at his profile has only ever left awful reviews for people. After 4 years he has resurrected an old review that was removed by trustpilot themselves (not myself) because it contains nothing but abuse. The fact he has done this after 4 years hopefully tells you how obsessed and angry he is. Tony Carter lies in his review, and fails to mention many important details such as the fact that I charged him way less than what I should have for all the work I did, plus the reason the computer wasn’t working properly, was that he insisted on taking it early before I had chance to finish updating it with all necessary drivers.
The same day he took the computer he rang me spewing abuse and hatred, but I was at a customers house and so I asked him if he could wait just a few hours and I would do whatever I could to help him. Tony refused and began weeks of trying to destroy my very good, hard earned reputation. Fortunately I do not rely on trustpilot for work which is just as well because they clearly do not fact check or care that people like Tony are only too happy to spew out their hatred without a care in the world for how it might affect someone’s livelihood. 14 years self employed and only ever had 2 bad reviews from Tony Carter and someone similar. Trustpilot do not care, but in all, honesty neither do I, because my customers know me and return time and time again. Check other more reputable review sites and you will see why I have such a good reputation.
Finally with regards his misleading comments, the facts are that Tony Carter rang the police after being abusive to me then claiming I had telephoned him and made threats. Nothing of the sort ever took place. The police told me they did not believe him and nothing else was ever said. It’s very sad that after 4 years he has decided to spew his hatred towards me again, but it really doesn’t matter that much.

Avoid and read the reviews

Avoid this company. Richard had 3 appointments, 2 he cancelled and the 3rd didn't bother attending, He claimed on the 1st appointment he was delayed, on the second he had an ear infection and on the 3rd he just didn't turn up.
Because I have challenged his level of service he has become abusive and claims his mother has died.
All I can say is that I wouldn't trust him to attend any appointment he books and if you challenge him for not attending booked appointment he becomes abusive,

Sheelah Riley has a long history of leaving unfair and derogatory reviews. From my own communication with her it is clear she has mental health issues. Trustpilot need to remove this person as she seems hell bent on destroying peoples livelihood.

Pint on my laptop

Managed to spill a pint of liquid all over the keyboard of my 5 month old, £1300 (on offer) laptop and was absolutely gutted. I use my laptop everyday for work and personal use.

17 hours after I did it, I realised I couldn't sort it myself, and I called Richard as his business came up on Google as local. He was happy for me to drop it off with him (out of hours, it was about 7pm). In order to minimise the damage already caused, he immediately (that evening!) worked on cleaning the liquid away from the motherboard, again, well out of hours and beyond expected service.

He made it clear when I initially spoke to him, he is happy to diagnose issues for free generally, but if there is more detailed/extensive work, he pre-warns you that there might be a £20 fee, which is beyond reasonable when it comes to the cost of the equipment he uses to do the repairs/diagnose the issue, and the time it takes to diagnose the issues.

Its also worth noting that he explains everything about a repair/diagnosis etc to his customer. I see this as massively important as you absolutely want to know what you're paying for, even if you dont have a clue what they're talking about.

100% will be calling him again when I inevitably do something stupid with my laptop.
