We use several Ryobi 40V tools in our home, including the electric lawn mower, leaf blower, and weed trimmer. The blower and trimmer have been great — they’re easy to use, have plenty of power for... See more

Excellent experience
Their warranty department and customer service has always done right by me. I own just about every tool they make and I love all of them. Goal is to collect them all! The lawn mower is next :)
Cheese maze website, Phone support useless
Cheese maze website. Inoperable phone service. Jump through hoops to get nowhere. And, oh, BTW, the products are cheap.
2 dead batteries with the same…
2 dead batteries with the same manufacturers date and still under warranty. Trying to get warranty service has been a nightmare. I will order battery adapters on amazon for my ryobi tools. When the tools die it's time to use a different brand.
AVOID! Horrible warranty fulfillment.
AVOID!! Absolutely horrendous customer service. Purchased a lawnmower 2 years ago and are generally very happy with its performance, however, the charger stopped working. The charger IS covered under warranty and we have been waiting for the replacement now for almost a month with little to no updates or communication. We purchase the extended warranty through Home Depot and because it is still under Ryobi's warranty, it must be fulfilled through Ryobi directly. They have consistently ghosted, ignored, and been completely unhelpful with all forms of communication and keep telling us it takes however long it takes due to the chargers being "in high demand"...meanwhile they are available in abundance through any retailer. These chargers are also almost $200. We now have a lawnmower that has been completely inoperable for the past 4 weeks and are being told they have no idea how much longer it will take to even SHIP a new charger. Just save yourself the headache and skip purchasing Ryobi products entirely.
I bought the patio cleaner and after 1…
I bought the patio cleaner and after 1 season I bought a new wire brush it cost £20 a bit steep I thought ,but when I tried to replace the brush ,the old one won't come off so I couldn't use it I contacted Ryobi ,who then started a investigation after several steps of taking photos and explaining what the problem was and having to print a label they decided to send it for repair after waiting a week it came back in exactly the same condition as when I sent it to them, still can't change wire brush,in the meantime my patio is looking like a jungle ,I rang Ryobi and the attitude was basically rude, they told me my problem is with the repair company, what a palaver ,do not buy from Ryobi you will almost certainly regret it, unless you're happy to give a lot of money for a,use once disposable machine
Ryobi is a terrible company
Ryobi is a terrible company. They introduce new battery operated products and force consumers to purchase it with batteries. For consumers that already have Ryobi battery operated products, this is not necessary and a waste of money. Obviously, Ryobi is only offering it to increase their profit margin. I am selling all of my Ryobi cordless products and will purchase from a better company. It should also be noted that their customer service is horrible, they either do not respond or respond with lame excuses. Buyer Beware!!!
Feeble 18v 150mm ryobi circular saw
18v 150mm Ryobi circular saw, first one I had burned out within a week of getting it only while cutting a plank, very poor performance compared to a many years older dewalt model that though well battered still runs to this day, returned the burned out ryobi saw for replacement, used replacement only for light work due to same model saw with the same flimsy motor not being up to the task that its reasonable to expect from a circular saw, but yet again this overheated and burned out same as the first one.
Will not waste money on this brand again especially now that prices for these 2nd rate tools are little different than the far better professional brands which actually do what they are meant to and keep working.
Very disappointing.
The extra star (making 2 rather than 1 the circular saw deserves) is due only to being given a ryobi chainsaw which saved at least wasting the cost of charger and battery, that one at least has kept working, so far.
Additional note:
For the same cost as the basic 18v Ryobi saw as a bare tool, I have now bought a brushless 40v aldi 'ferrex' saw, with 5amp battery and charger, larger blade, higher spec, a massively more powerful and capable saw with a 3year garuntee, this puts ryobi fully to shame as a company selling sub par tools at premium brand prices.
Ryobi Warranty sham
I have several tools operating on 40V and a leaf blower stopped working. The tool is covered by 5 years warranty and all repairs are to be done in authorized service center. Unfortunately there is no service centers in Canada, so out of luck. So much for the Ryobi warranty. Don't be fooled by the promises by Ryobi. The customer service is non existent.
My mowers battery lasted 3 years
My mowers battery lasted 3 years. They won't warranty it because the battery it came with is 5 years old. Utter garbage.
FAULTY PRODUCT!!!!!
Bought a cordless drill/driver in November 2022.Tried to register online for the 3 year warranty countless times over a week, couldn't get through to speak to anyone about it.Finally gave up.On 5th June 2025 couldn't drill straight,ie the keyless chuck gripped the drill bit but the keyless chuck and the torque ring moved in all directions at least 5 to 10 millimetres! Unbelievable! Considering that I'm just a diyer and the unit hadn't been abused or mistreated, and had only had intermittent use why did it fail after 2 and half years? It's a good job I'm not a tradesman and having to rely on this unit for my living.I was told it could be repaired (at my expense) also having to pay to return the unit for repair, and for return to myself after being repaired.I declined this of because if the unit had failed after minimal use how long would it be before another fault Won't be buying Ryobi EVER again! Ryobi products are great UNTIL they develop problems.Only gave 1star so review would be posted.VERY VERY VERY disappointed.BUYER BEWARE!!!
RYOBI will NEVER respond because they just DON'T CARE!!!!?
Ryobi customer service is terrible
Ryobi customer service is terrible. After having a Ryobi drill driver combo set for 6 months the drill stopped working. Called Ryobi customer service for warranty and they said I had to pay to ship it to a Ryobi service center which is 400km away from Edmonton. I did, three months later they are still looking into it. This is very frustrating. I had to go out and buy another drill to finish my home project. I will never buy another Ryobi tool again. The hours on the phone with Ryobi trying to find out the progress was so frustrating and still is. Stay away from Ryobi Tools
Shame on Ryobi
Ryobi - NOTIFY your customers of the Lawn Mower Recall. It is YOUR DUTY!! Your representative should NOT be asking me how I found out. It is your product that could catch on fire!! I will tell you if my lawnmower caught on fire and burned my garage down, I would have been PISSED!! Shame on you, especially since I registered the lawnmower the day we bought it on your website. Also, people do not have 25-30 days to wait for a replacement. Get a better policy!! It is your fault that the lawnmower has issues!!
Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced
Could not help me very rude and hung up on me.
I bought a Ryobi pressure washer
I bought a Ryobi pressure washer, 2 years ago, the first year I had it. The pump failed on it.I had to buy a new one. Had this pump for one year and had to buy a new one. Also, the first year I had to buy new wand for it because it failed. I will never buy another ryobe.
Product again. I also suggest that nobody else buys from them.
dependable tools
We've been using these tools for many years with no issues. the batteries are long lasting and we have not had to buy replacement batteries until now which is amazing. the original chargers that we bought are still working at 100% and we use the tools daily. Good tools to have around with lots of power for jobs.
What to Buy
When I was looking for a Electric Pressure Washer I checked out all the tools in my garage. I realized that most were Ryobi with Battery Chargers. A Trimmer, Leaf Blower & the best part was interchangeable battery chargers. They are also the right heaviness for me to use at 72 years old. I love a nice clean yard deck, with the above tools I can achieve that look. Thank you for these products. I love my new Pressure Washer so easy to use. My next purchase will be a Hedge Trimmer.
Very negative review of Ryobi
Very negative review of Ryobi – unreliable products and useless customer service
I bought several Ryobi tools in 2022, thinking I was investing in quality equipment. The result: a series of abnormal breakdowns.
My grinder broke down within the first year. Thankfully, it was still under warranty and got replaced. But that was just the beginning: my impact driver (worth €150) failed just after the warranty expired, and a 4 Ah battery (worth €90) also stopped working — completely unusable.
I contacted customer service, and was told the spare part doesn’t exist, so I’d have to buy a new tool. As for the battery, it’s impossible to open and therefore unrepairable. No long-term solution, no repairability, no support.
It’s 2025, and Ryobi is still selling expensive, low-quality tools that are nearly impossible to repair. I’m done with this brand. I will never buy from them again and strongly advise others to avoid Ryobi if you’re looking for reliable tools.
Lawn Mower Issues
I purchased 2 ryobi lawn mowers and both broke within 1 year. I contacted the company and was told to find an authorized dealer to have it checked and repaired. The dealers are either too far or out of state. Next option was that I had to pay to have it shipped, checked out and cover cost. So if it was fixed and it broke again I would have to go through this again. This company is not much help and I will never buy ryobi products again.
Terrible Customer Service
I’ve been experiencing significant issues with a recalled product from Ryobi. It took me 3+ phone calls & emails to even get them to recall my mower that was OBVIOUSLY affected by their recall. They gave me the run around to even get that done. From there it was weeks until I received notice of expectation of 30 business days to receive my mower. That was March 4th, 2025. It is now May 1st, 2025 still without a replacement mower. I’ve been in contact with them last week to escalate the issue. No contact back. I’ve reached out again today to “escalate the issue” with no resolution. They told me the order hadn’t even been placed WEEKS after they emailed me to expect it within 30 days. They STILL cannot give me an update on when to expect the mower. They cannot send me to speak with whoever this “escalation” is. At this point I’ve been out a mower since February with no resolution in sight. I expect they will see this review and still do nothing about their terrible customer service or customer experience and I will still be out a mower due to their negligence.
I just ordered a patio from this…
