Corrolan reveiw

This is a review of their product Corrolan and not their company services of rustproofing. In September '24 I had my car rust proofed underneath including cavities using Corrolan products. This was done by their stockist in Kirkham , Lancashire. Even after a year following treatment I observed two issues. First, the smell was significant and it is not pleasant unless you like sheepdip. Second, the cavity treatment ran from all drainage holes whenever the temperature rises to circa 20C. I contacted the company to advise on their expectations regarding this. According to them the cavity issue is to be expected as the product is 'waxed' based. Ok, then they should make sure the product information explicitly mentions this and indeed they should describe the smell more accurately as "mild" in description is misrepresentative to say the least. Currently over 18 months on the issues remain. In my view any fluid injection process should contain some form of setting agent to prevent excessive drainage. The car body needs to be repeatedly washed with white spirit to remove marking from their product. Not something you expect when rust proofing your car. In conclusion, the product may or may not be protective against rust , but the trade off makes it not worth it so stay away and use something else to do the job.

Didn't have any correspondence except the day I ordered which was on Dec 22nd . No information on website on Christmas opening hours. I left a message to ask if it could be delivered before Christmas thinking an £8.50 postage cost for a 400ml bottle of something would be next day possible or at least arrive between xmas and new year. So rang today to be asked where did I think they were??
What company doesn't care enough to give customers a note on opening hours over Xmas. 22nd was hardly Christmas day!. Rang today to get an idea on what was happening and met with nasty response. As I hadn't had any contact in over 2 weeks. My bad I guess wanting just to know where my money was.

Rustbuster should be your go to website

Rustbuster has been my go to place for rust prevention products for about 15 years, the website and product advice are exceptional. Having worked full time in the classic car industry I know that its rust that affects the value and longevity of cars more than anything else. I'm currently using Corrolan but have used many of their other products in the past.

I was a regular customer for the epoxy mastic. Expensive but was worth it.
Then the product became much thinner- the supplied thinners were certainly no longer required!
Then some of the colours were discontinued (red oxide & silver) so I stopped buying as no longer fit for my purposes.
I see Rustbuster have launched a cheaper alternative to epoxy mastic but I haven’t tried it & will seek out alternatives first.
A shame as it was a really good product that I used to recommend to others.

Used the epoxymastic and custom 421 for over 10 years. Great stuff. For chassis painting I find it works best with thick roller application. Still looks great even now. Still the first choice for my current project.

More than Happy to Recommend Rustbusters

Very happy with Rustbusters in Spalding. I took my 2007 Peugeot 207 there in September 2025 as showing signs of rust, and they were very accomodating with working around my schedule. Chris explained the process for me and advised on somewhere to stay. Plenty of photos and a video were provided of the finished job also. More than happy to recommend Rustbusters for their rust-proofing service, thanks!

Don't post to Isle of Wight.

There are lots of classic cars on the Island but sadly, they do not post to the Isle of Wight, despite there being numerous carriers that offer an economical service.

I've used this at home on 3 vehicles now, starting with the cleaning, then the FE123 then the epoxy mastic generally on suspension parts. After 2 years there's been no degradation of the coating and still looks like it's just been done.
A friend has just ordered a kit to coat anti roll bars on his classic Merc as he was impressed with mine, I've always brushed it on and haven't tried spraying as I'm coating parts and not large areas.
I can certainly recommend them and delivery is generally only a couple of days.

The team at Rustbusters have been brilliant

The team at Rustbusters have been really great from the start to finish, I had made a number of enquiries about getting my Range Rover rust protected and they were very helpful and knowledgeable about the product and process.

They took and supplied photos of before and after and I’m really pleased with the result, and from a price perspective it was more than fair, and cheaper than some by a considerable margin.

I would not hesitate to recommend them if you are looking to protect your vehicle into the future.

Great job Guys

Unbelievably poor service. Untrustworthy. Avoid

I sent my wife's Ineos Grenadier to Rustbuster, along with two of my other vehicles, for a full hot fog wax treatment. This totalled almost 2900 GBP. All three vehicles were treated to unbelievably substandard work.

See below for the review of the Hilux, which I posted earlier this year.

One would think the owner would have made an extra effort with the Grenadier, having already made a mess of one of my vehicles, but no.

When I got the Grenadier home, I used a borescope to see whether the work had been completed, as per Rustbuster's claims on their website (which has now been conveniently changed)

Areas that hadn't been treated:

All four doors
Bonnet
Rear barn doors
Front wings
Rear quarter panels
Sills
Chassis cavaties

He claimed they used 'clear wax' inside the panels, which isn't visible to the eye. I think he means invisible wax, as there's nothing in there. Then he changed his story to 'you mentioned you were thinking about selling it and I'd to have drilled holes in the doors, so didn't bother'. Really? He never mentioned this and didn't alter the price to reflect the lack of work.

I have had it verified elsewhere that treatment can be done without drilling any holes.

Then he said 'drop it off again and I'll treat it again'

Another 3-hour round trip and an all-day wait? I don't think so ...

The owner has told me one lie after another. I've proven him wrong with video, pictures and TWO engineers' reports. The case is now heading to court.
