The worst customer service ever !

Rush was an excellent hospital and the best doctors, unfortunately the system that now they have is a nightmare. Have an appointment, call for your medication refills, or your labs request takes a month or more, you have to contact a representative that ask all your information then they send a message to the doctor office and then you have to wait. More than 24 har for them to call you! But I was waiting weeks for a refill of my medication, a month for my labs request .. and the answers is they can’t do anything ! Rush’s is going worse and worse with the service they use to have .

Sub-Quality Cervical Surgery…

I am still struggling with a cervical surgery attempted at this hospital. I say attempted because it has turned out very flawed. The X-ray shows the hardware, in my neck, at a forward bent shape. This prevents me from standing straight and throws off my balance. The hardware looks as though the rods and screws were tightened with my head lying on a pillow. Which means the neck and head would lean forward. It might be, after the surgery was performed, the attending doctor tuned the hardware part over to a student (resident) or maybe the whole procedure was done by a student doctor. I asked the surgeon to not do that - Dr. O'Toole. But since you're out like a light for hours, you never know what happened. In any case, the surgery was a fiasco. I am so disappointed. Especially after being so confident that I was in excellent hands. I do not recommend this hospital. Too much emphasis is put on student training, which could cause great harm and even worse. Stay away!

This place has vicious and histrionic…

This place has vicious and histrionic collection practices bordering on stalking.
For years I received physical therapy at Novacare, who provided effective, caring treatments.
Then Rush Hospital bought Novacare.
And the vicious collection practices started. Within days of a treatment.
Example: I received a collection notice for November 2024 within 15 days of the treatment. I tried to pay it online, and Rush Hospital has a firewall that blocks access.
Then I tried calling at 11:38 am on Monday, Dec 23 to pay by phone. Reached a recording to call back during working hours. Which allegedly go from 7:00 am to 5 pm. Hmmm. I get collection emails and mailings nearly every 2 days. For services rendered less than a month ago. So I had my bank send a check. Which will take 5-10 days. Rush is unethical and vicious.
Note to Rush: Do NOT send a response with a patronizing "I'm sorry that ..." or "I'm disappointed that ...". You are NOT sorry. You are NOT disappointed. Because only scar tissue lurks where a conscience might reside in an otherwise functioning human.

Balance Billing

I go to this medical center regularly. Recently, I've started seeing procedures billed to my insurance that I didn't undergo. They didn't hit my copayment, so I didn't think anything about it. Then I get what's called a "balance bill" a few months later. They insist I underwent the procedures, one of which is a surgery. I think I'd notice that. They're demanding a pay out-of-pocket now and offering me a payment plan for something I don't need to pay for.
