Too simple to cope with 2026

Too simple to cope with 2026

It lets you easily add the necessary domain changes to create TXT and MX records to your own domain, if you have one.

Problem is the signatures and templates, which seem to overlap in functionality.
Also, if you are silly enough to add your logo to the signature (or template), the receiver of the email receives an empty box (yes, I tried to tick off for Show images, but it's just not there).

If you're stuck somewhere, the documentation has very limited search options, but worst of all, there is no where to find contact details about the company running the place. No polite access to where abouts the company is located, etc. I had to look this up via the national company registration.

So, if you love frustration, please go ahead!

Outdated pile of crap

I recently closed my account after many years for two reasons: 1) constant spam from email accounts purporting to be runbox with links to rip me off and 2) a "team" in Norway (i.e. Liz) who didn't give a shit. Save your money get a free Google account.

My adult son died overseas of medical negligence and Runbox have been totallyunhelpful and heartless.…

My adult son died of medical negligence lastyear in Albania. he appointed me (his mother) as executrix. He lived and travelled overseas since the beginning of COVID. I found by accident that he had basically changed from Gmail to Runbox. Runbox were sending his accounts to him but he was dead and his devices remained in Albania for over a year. I wrote to runbox to ask in these unusual and personally distressing circumstances could I have access. I am trying to trace his money to buy his fiancee a house as they had planned. Runbox told me that it is a matter of privacy. How can they give the excuse of privacy when he is dead and has appointed me to handle his estate? Then they said I wouldhave to get a Norwegian court order! This is interesting as they already said there might not be any thing there now. One of his email addresses was called Xshares@ runbox.com. A blind freddy would know that this is where he kept his investment and related information. Maybe it is a way to have access to accounts which have not been paid. I have asked them togive me the DATE that he signd up so that I can go through about 4 yars of his Gmails and then send out a huge group email to everyone to firstly tell them that he has died and tell them that from a certain date date (that Runbox will not tell me), I have no emails to start to find his assets and knowing this, hope that his contacts will realise the diabolical position that Runbox have put me in and help me with any information that they can. By writing this I am hoping that people will think before using Runbox. It is one thing for my son to have used it for possible greater safety but he did not expect to die and effectively they have prevented me, his mother and executrix from finding where his assets are. It seems to me that I will never be able to recover his assets and they could "disappear."

Simply The Best - imho

I got fed up with gmail and went to runbox nearly two years ago.
I idly looked them up here and was astonished to see their low star rating.
My experience has been 5 star.
Webmail is great if you need it.
I use it mainly with an email client and it is reliable and trouble free and very very good value.
Thankyou Runbox.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!

After a few hiccups with their free test, I signed up with runbox for a year, at about $18/year. Of course it's not much, but I only wanted to use it to email friemds who won't use gmail.
I set it up, and immediately there were problems. I can send an email if it's a reply to one I sent someone, or if that person is on my "contact" list, BUTIT WILL NOT LET ME SEND AN EMAIL TO SOMEONE BY TYPING IN THE EXACT SAME ADDRESS MANUALLY!! THE EMAIL JUST SITS THERE!

I ALSO WANTED TO HAVE ALL INCOMING EMAILS---MAYBE A TOTAL OF 4 OR 5 A DAY---BE FORWARD DIRECTLY TO MY GMAIL ACCOUNT, SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO CHECK BOTH ACCOUNTS. I AM NOT COMPUTER SAVVY, SO I ASKED LIZ TO HELP ME TO THIS. I HAVE HEARD NOTHING ABOUT THIS--OR MY OTHER QUIRIES--FOR ALMOST TEN DAYS!!
THIS IS ***NOT*** THE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE PROMISED TO ME BEFORE I SIGNED UP!
WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR A COMPANY TO DO WHAT THAT THEY PROMISE?? THESE ARE SIMPLE THINGS TO MOST PEOPLE, BUT I NEED HELP, AND THEY ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!

Stop paying and you can't see old mails

I have enjoyed Runbox for three years - specially the privacy (and also the support team).
If you stop paying Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft mail, Hotmail, G-mail and others, you can still watch your contend (but off course, not edit or add new stuff, or receive/send mails).
I ended my subscription of Runbox and was then locked out from my account (banded from the server). Now I have no access to old mails (i.e. contract from my employer, calendar for my yoga class etc.) and I cannot access my address books.
I am truly disappointed. I know Runbox states this in their terms and conditions (and that I was given a two weeks' notice), however it would have been nice to be able to watch my old mails. Not good.

I started signing up for runbox…

I started signing up for the runbox free trial a few weeks ago and was so impressed with the site and what they offer that I ended up paying for two years for the price of one.
I get IMAP & POP3 and 100 free alias email addresses. I've used a fraction of that and they are forwarded to my main inbox.
Sofar it has been lovely and straightforward to use and a refreshing change from gmail.
Thankyou runbox

I love using Runbox

I love using Runbox. Its service is fairly priced, customer service is very helpful, stable and fast.
You get stable people here and a responsible care of your data and emails.
And they keep improving their system.

I wanted to change and leave data-collecter Gmail forever, so I started looking around and checked nearly 10-15 email service providers, and all of them failed based on their price-service-privacy-customer service or stability. Runbox is not 100% perfect but based on the above (price - service - privacy - customer service and stability) I chose them and so far I love their service.
