It's easy to book and have sessions
It's easy to book and have sessions. I've been very happy with the ease and flexibility of the entire process.
My first virtual therapy program…
I had my first virtual therapy program and not only did I get clarity with that session, my anxiety was definitely less. There were a number of therapists to consider from all kinds of backgrounds. Mine was perfect for me.
Weekly sessions were automatically scheduled, but we were able to change dates to accomodate my own schedule limitations. I highly recommend this platform.

I am a therapist with 40 years experience, interested in exploring Rula. I had a meeting scheduled for 2pm, had husband take time off from work to attend with me. At 12 pm I get an email that meeting was canceled with no explanation. I tried calling and was told that department didnt have a phone line ( what?) but I could expect an email with a resolution. I got an email back saying they have a 'higher volume of requests then usual' and someone wouod get back to me. I have not heard back. My experience with Rula this far is an epic fail: certainly not the professionalism I would have expected.

I’ve enjoyed getting to read about the therapist before booking with them. It has allowed me to pick someone who I feel like I can connect better with. Scheduling and rescheduling has been easy as well and I’m not a techy person.

Addressing the scheduling of appointments, you are scheduling by the dates you pick. I got 5 out of 5. I can see that it may not always hit on your first attempt. You’re in control go back and find the ones that you are comfortable with and make the decision. I’m happy. It works great.

The recommendation and booking process was super easy! I’d been having some trouble with my insurance elsewhere, but Rula made it a breeze to find recommendations, and the booking process was so straightforward.
Finding Health - Choice and Help
RULA gives you the opportunity to find a counselor that fits your needs and style. Because I could pick my therapist, I found the one that is making me more healthy in my life. She was helpful from the beginning session and has led me to three major breakthroughs in the last 2 months.

Scheduling my appointments was easy and in most cases follow ups were already booked for me!
I never thought therapy was for me because I've always thought I had a good understanding of myself. Recently I've been experiencing some changes in my life and been more overwhelmed than usual so I decided to seek some help. It did take me a second specialist to feel more comfortable with Therapy though Rula but so far my second provider has been helping me more than I've ever expected or am used to thinking in the past how it wasn't for me. I recommend seek a provider through Rula that's right for you because they have several!

Bad therapy is worse than no therapy.

The AI note-taking tool is NOT optional. I asked my therapist in our last session to please disable it, because I am not comfortable with AI assisted therapy. She said that, in that case, she can't work with me as my therapist.
I worked with two providers before swearing off Rula. I switched because it just wasn't a good fit; different approaches, different opinions, and very different people.
The second provider I worked with gave me two sessions of great therapy. She was empathetic, compassionate, warm, and seemed to genuinely care about me.
Until I said "no" to her.
I began the session by talking about how well her advice had worked, and how much happier I've been since I set some boundaries with my family. While I was upset in the moment about something, I told her that I was confident that I could get a handle on it. I thought that she would celebrate with me, but she said nothing.
Instead, she told me that I need a "higher level of care". This was very confusing to me, and I expressed that confusion. Her attitude did a complete 180. Suddenly she was cold, critical, dismissive, and rude. It caught me completely off guard, and upset me very much, because I felt like I had made genuine progress that wasn't even being acknowledged. She was talking about "a higher level of care" as though it was a done deal that I had no say in or control over, which was extremely triggering for me.
She also asked me questions that I had spent our first sessions answering; why am i estranged with my mother? Why do I need to set boundaries? What are my goals in therapy? She even asked me (again) what my previous diagnoses were. This was also confusing and destabilizing to me, because I could not understand why she didn't remember.
At first, I assumed that the AI Notetaking tool wasn't picking up important details. So I asked her to disable the tool. She confessed that she doesn't know how. I asked her to find out.
During that session, she explained everything that I had done wrong in the previous one, and let me know that she will not hesitate to "make that phone call," if she thinks she should. Which was utterly bonkers to me, because I haven't communicated ANY thoughts or intentions of hurting myself or anybody else, nor have I had them.
Today, I opened the session by asking her if she had been able to disable the notetaking tool. She admitted that she hadn't, that she didn't want to, and wasn't going to. I made several suggestions (because people have been doing therapy way before AI), but she shut them all down.
"I'm not comfortable with AI assisted therapy."
"Then I'm not going to work with you as your therapist."
Edit/update:
I have received an email letting me know that I am being charged $99 for CANCELING the appointment I had just logged off from.
I did not cancel it. I was there. She told me she would not work with me, I thanked her for her time, and ended the session.
I have not been able to reach a real person to rectify this. Yesterday, I talked to an AI chat bot. While it used empathetic language, I was not able to rectify the charge, or to file any kind of complaint about the therapist. It said that it was "escalating" the matter, and that i will be hearing from them in 3-5 business days.
Yet they found this review and commented on it right away.
They care more about PR than patients.

I am very happy with Rula. I was able to find a good therapist, and the price is reasonable -- it takes my insurance! I found this experience to be way better than BetterHelp, which felt like a waste of money and made me skeptical about online therapy.
