Bought a Generac Generator from another…

Bought a Generac Generator from another source. Had Mcglaughlin Energy do install work related to the gas line, regulator and related hardware.

Here is where the trouble begins purchased a 500 Gallon underground rated tank for 4000.00 was quoted this price on June 07, 2022 had to give them half down to order the tank (2000.00) since I was having the whole dug myself I asked McLaughlin for dimensions of the tank so I could have the hole at the correct depth, three different people gave answers after contacting

McLaughlin again, I was sent a PDF of the tank dimensions great, so I thought when they arrived at the site I was informed that the hole was dug to the wrong Dims

Too much sand in hole luckily, I have small tractor with a loader, 45 minutes later and a couple of gallons of wasted diesel fuel hole was at the correct depth.
I paid a contactor 700.00 to big this hole for me since it was too much for my small tractor.

Then came time for the bill due, McLaughlin now wants to charge me 4,470.30 for the new tank,

a whopping 498.52 with tax increase from the quoted tank price of 4000.00 to add insult to injury McLaughlin wanted half down to order the tank fortunately they did charge my bank account for half of the tank so this I have as matter of written records as well as my detailed notes should this have to go to court.
Also the tank installers told me they have been getting many quick price increases on their tanks lately.

This is now the third round of talks concerning the tank price. Steel has tripled in price recently since I was quoted a firm price, I suspect they are trying to up charge me for the latest round of price increases
I was told by the tank installers that they were raising their tank price soon after I had my tank installed by them Humm.
As far as I am concerned a quote of 4000.00 for an
Underground tank and a deposit of 2000.00 is half of 4000.00 for the tank solidifies the deal firmly.

Lesson Learned, aways get firm written quotes from anybody or company.
Second dont deal with McLaughlin Energy service period!

Update just recieved a phone call from one of the representatives (john) he is not budging on the tank price.
Neither am I.

Waiting on a phone call from the owner.
Since dealing with this company I have been continually
Been give bad/misinformation concerning prices.

Their prices for work performed seems high too.

I have been trying to resolve issues…

I have been trying to resolve issues with the boiler that was fitted by this company for over two years! The boiler should have a 7 year warranty but the the company didn’t fit it correctly and had to come back out to re install it. When they did it was still wrong. They didn’t fit it inline with the manufacturer so the warranty is in valid. They also didn’t send of any registration documents for the boiler - So until I rang the manufacturer I had no warranty and since then the boiler has broken down every few months. I cannot get hold of anyone at the company - they don’t respond to emails or calls. The boiler has cost me approximately another (£1300) for all the break downs as it was never fitted correctly. It is also not compliant with guidelines / legal regulations. Some of the wires and pipes have been taped!

Absolutely diabolical- I can’t put into words just how awful this company are.

I had a new boiler and under floor…

I had a new boiler and under floor insulation put in this was Febuary/March 2021 the only thing is I have no details of where The Grant come from there is so many but I don't no I have phoned round a few companies that deal with boiler grants but they haven't got me on there system no address nothing. So the Grant went to renewable solutions team so I don't no how to contact the Grant people for proof that it was a free Grant for the future to sell my house.
Now they are not trading now and under a different name

Cannot believe the owner can be so inhumane!!!!!
Trust me do not ever do business with this company, they will take your money and leave you in the dark.....
I put so much effort, time and commitment into this company and to put it nicely I got royaly screwed over with many empty promises, I had to forfit my house, my car, my everything all for what????? Numerous overtime was done with no compensation towards it, no Jan pay, no commission since October 2021! No leave pay, no UIF no nothing!!! Utterly disgusting
As someone who knows who they dealing with please DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Dishonest CEO who absconds and doesn't pay staff in SA and no retrenchment consultations or letter, no uif etc

If there was a 0 or minus rating allowed this company should get it.
The way in which the CEO of Mcglaughlin group services has handled the staff after closing down with NO consultation process, no retrenchment letters, no January or leave or severance pay, didn't pay UIF or SARS etc.
It is absolutely disgusting to say the least.
You could not even have the decency to let your staff know to their faces that you were closing and given them their retrenchment letters to resolve their accounts and responsibilities. I am appalled as this doesn't just affect the staff it affects their families as well. I have had first sight of what you have done to the south african staff you employed and now left without work and without letters and more. I hope you are held accountable in every way. You should not be allowed to do business in SA its so unethical and dishonest. Do not use this company of you require honesty. I really hope that the staff of SA who are now stuck in the middle of uk and sa processes get all the help they can to resolve this and get paid the salaried and other which they actually worked for.

!!!!STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

Lets start off by saying if I could rate this company a ZERO star I would!!!!
If you are looking at doing ANY BUSINESS with this company (RST BOILERS / J MCLAUGHLIN GROUP), DONT!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!
This company along with the owner is a joke!!!!
You try and make contact with the owner and he just ignores you completely!!!!
The owner has closed down the South African offices with immediate effect, leaving ALL THE EMPLOYEES with no jobs and to say the least they all walked out with no January salary - shocking to say the least!!!!
Every single rumor you may hear or may have heard about this company is true!!!!

UPDATE 22/02/2022 - Still no documents have been supplied to the staff that worked in the south african offices and guess what - they are still awaiting our JANUARY 2022 salary.

UPDATE 24/02/2022 - still no contact made with the owner of the cowboy company (HE JUST IGNORES US POINT BLANK). The south African employees are still awaiting their retrenchment letters which was "apparently signed ages ago" and documents for UIF. 18 days later - the south African staff is still waiting to get paid for January 2022. SHOCKING TO SAY THE LEAST!!!!

* STILL NO DOCUMENTS SUPPLIED TO THE STAFF IN SOUTH AFRICA EVEN THOUGH THE OWNER OF THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY HAS SAID THAT THEY HAVE BEEN SIGNED OFF!!!!
* SO IT'S BEEN A MONTH THAT WE HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR OUR DOCUMENTS AND OUR SALARIES!!!!

UPDATE 02/03/2022 - The cowboy owner of this company is still hiding away and ignoring us!! I wonder how much begging does he want from us!! Never in my life have I ever met such a inhumane person!! How are we suppose to look after our families and children if you are not paying our January 2022 salaries and supplying documents of retrenchment!! All the staff in SOUTH AFRICA just want answers instead of him ignoring us!!

Boilers been Leaking from condenser…

Boilers been Leaking from condenser pipe since it was fitted 2 months ago. Some1 came out. It's still leaking now I can't even get through to speak to anybody. Caused damage to wallpaper and ceiling in the hallway that's how I found out there was a leak. Had a pan under the boiler collecting water since the 11th of december

Not Impressed

I had a retrofit appointment 3 weeks ago now. Paid my deposit of £189 and since then all communication has seized. Tried phoning, emailing numerous times and WhatsApp, nothing! It seems like once they have your deposit they don’t want to know anymore!

I am still waiting for RST boilers to…

I am still waiting for RST boilers to give a date when to install the new boiler. I have already gave them a deposit but had no response. Lots of promises but no action. Their phone is not responding to any calls.

Avoid!!

Avoid!!! Extremely bad!! Scam!!! They took my cash and I can not get hold of anyone now. I’m experiencing the same scenario here as per the last couple of bad reviews. No one to talk to. I’ve had enough lies about the installation date, been messed around for the last couple of months. Today I gave up holding the line after 1 H 30 min being Nr 1 in the queue. Shoddy customer service - no one answers the phone!

Supposed to fit the boiler on 19th January - No one turned up! No one called to say they weren't coming. Got a phone call next day (after we had to call you first!) to rearrange - ANOTHER no show. Called back 3 times only to be told someone will call me back. NO ONE CALLS BACK. I have currently been on hold to Customer Services since 9am and its 2 and half hours later. I was caller number 4 when I started ringing and I have been caller number 2 in the queue for well over an hour. That means customer services have dealt with TWO calls in the 2 and half hours I have been waiting. What's going on?! Absolute JOKE.

EDIT: It's 3 hours now I've been on hold and I am still caller number 2.

EDIT 2: It's been 3 and half hours and I am now caller number 1! Probably because the last one gave up after waiting so long...

EDIT 3: It's been 4 hours and I've given up. I was caller number 1 for 45 mins with no answer.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. THEY HAVE TAKEN MONEY OFF MY ELDERLY FATHER. I will be reporting this company to Trading Standards and taking it further.

Been waiting for someone to answer for…

Been waiting for someone to answer for over an hour. What a joke!

RFERRING TO RST BOILERS!

I rang last week and was told i would get a call back in relation to a question. They didn't ring back.
When i do speak to someone they are rude and keep sniggering on the other end of the phone. Very unprofessional!
Think Mr Mclaughlin needs to re-think his staff.
I'm eligible for a new boiler and have been messed around from the beginning. Everytime staff say they will ring back they don't.

STILL haven't got my boiler. Have been trying to arrange fitting.

Just about to end yet another call to rst boilers. Been on for almost 3HOURS?!!??
Is the company folding?
I urge you to check out the emails I sent to James Baston yesterday plus others. He doesn't reply. ...why??
You say customers are important. Why not prove that!

What a CON company. Thank god I didn't part with any money unlike plenty of others who are currently out of pocket due to the company going into administration. James Baston (installations manager) knew this as I have discovered speaking to other customers. But he didn't have the guts to be honest with customers.

Job completed on time, good service and tradesmen always happy to answer questions. Keith did a great job with the boiler fit. Clean and explained everything well before leaving

I admit I was unsure at first

THEY TURNED OUT TO BE A SCAM COMPANY THAT OPENED FOR BUISNESS WHILE GOVERMENT GRANTS AVAILABLE AND THEN FOLDED admit I was unsure at first, it seemed too good to be true!
I am so glad though that I still had the new boiler fitted. In total there were two men that came to carry out surveys of my heating system and the heat efficiency of my house. Then two more one carried out the electrical side and the last fitted the new boiler and other items that were needed. He regulated all the radiators and explained everything he did. All four were professional and knowledgeable I definitely recommend this company and the people who work for them

I had my boiler fitted today by RST and I'm very happy with the work that Chris Heywood did. He was very polite, professional and cleaned up after himself. He explained the use of the boiler to me and I'm very satisfied
