**Title: Incompetent, lazy, and highly unprofessional—avoid RS 2000 at all costs.**
**Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)*
If you are a professional truck driver or owner-operator, do yourself a massive favor and take your business anywhere else. RS 2000 heavily advertises that they "specialize" in the trucking industry, but my experience with them has been an absolute nightmare.
I used RS 2000 for years, but the problems started when my long-time agent, Chris, flat-out refused to file my 2023 return for the three months I worked in Canada (January through March) before I moved to the US. RS 2000 completely abandoned me and didn't even bother to assign a replacement agent.
Against my better judgment, I gave them another chance. I met with an agent named Tim at my apartment on Saturday, February 21st. Tim was great, and I paid a massive premium fee upfront in good faith. But once they had my money, I was handed off to a new agent named Kash, and the complete lack of service began.
I submitted every single requested document and emailed Kash my driver logs two to three weeks ago, yet my taxes are STILL not filed. To make matters infinitely worse, when Kash received my driver logs—which are literally the most critical piece of documentation for an auto hauler to claim legal deductions—he explicitly told me, "I'm not going to look through all that." Out of sheer frustration, I had to tell him to just claim a below-average deduction amount so the CRA wouldn't flag my return. I paid premium fees to a tax professional, only to be forced to take money out of my own pocket because the agent is too lazy to do the actual math.
On top of the sheer laziness, the professionalism is non-existent. When Kash came to my house, I mentioned how well Tim and I got along. Kash immediately started badmouthing his own colleague to a paying client, telling me, "Tim is just an agent. He's not an accountant." I actually had to defend Tim—who has been with the company for 30 years—to Kash.
RS 2000 will gladly send someone to collect a massive payment upfront, but then they hand you off to someone who refuses to do the actual tax work, insults his coworkers, and leaves you hanging. Save your money, save your time, and go to an accountant who actually wants to do the work and respects your livelihood.
