The route services provided were NOT good!
The route provided was good.
But two things ruined our 12 day trip.
1. We upgraded the car during the booking process to be a LARGE SUV, we paid extra up front and the details were in writing...when we got to the airport rental car dealer, we were presented with a small---think mini Renault SUV. When we showed the paperwork and details and called Route Perfect we were to,d this was what we had arranged but if wanted they could upgrade us to a larger SUV for an additional 200 Euros!
When we got home we disputed the charges and were to,d they were sorry and they would give us a discount on the next trip we booked through them...we will NEVER book with them again.
2. The last hotel we booked into was described to be in a "safe" neighborhood in Frankfurt Germany.
Due to the refugees in this area, located near a train station, we were not able to venture out of our hotel even for dinner, and feared the rental car would not be there in the morning.
The worst part of the hotel was that it was located in an obvious Red Light Discteict, complete with prostitution on every corner being offered and "Peep Show" parlours on every block north, south, east and west. One of the doorways we passed before checking in, there was a derelict with a needle sticking out of his arm!
The hotel was not cheap, it had high ratings, and was a sham!

We are truly disheartened to hear of your discomfort in Frankfurt, and definitely understand how this may have compromised your comfort during your stay. Our site is designed to give our travelers full discretion over the packages that they book, though we provide as much information as possible as guidance for smart planning, such as filters for hotel facilities (i.e. parking lots where a car would be safe), map plotting which shows our travelers the hotel in relation to the rest of the city, and user reviews which compensate for often false hotel advertising. Unfortunately it is not possible as a company to professionally trace the areas of a practice that is common in almost every city and entirely undocumented, with few unique exceptions such as Amsterdam. There is little potential on our end for excluding centrally located hotels which may or may not be a hot spot for these activities, especially considering people book in advance at varying lengths of time. With regards to refugees, we hope it is understood that contemporary circumstances such as these around the world which may affect people visiting a certain area are in no way related to nor a reflection of the quality of the travel company which they booked through.
With regards to your car rental, it's important to note that in our correspondence with you, specific car types were never guaranteed as every option we offered was listed as a possible car type or any car type similar to it. This is also true for the vast majority, if not all, of car rentals available through 3rd party providers rather than directly through a car rental. When you were dissatisfied with the car you received, we promptly helped you get a new reservation, however the price you had paid was not the price of the car type you required so additional payment was necessary. Had the car type you wanted been booked in the first place, it would have also been at a higher rate. As such the charges were and still are not disputable.
However, just as our support team was there to promptly help you resolve your issue with the car rental, we are always ready to offer guidance before booking for any such personal concerns you may have as a traveler. Since your package included 5 hotel reservations in total, we are truly surprised that your negative experience in Frankfurt led you to give such a low rating overall, and can only hope that you thoroughly enjoyed the rest of your trip.

Everything was perfect for our trip. With RoutePerfect, we felt very comfortable to travel to an un-known places. However, the drawback is you need to stick to your travel plan, not suitable for impulse travellers (We are over 55, so we like to plan our trip carefully in advance).

Our site is certainly designed for pre-planned travels. While spontaneous traveling can absolutely have its merits and there are certain styles of accommodation such as hostels and couchsurfing sites which make this easier, in general booking accommodations last minute and especially "as you go" is incredibly expensive. Rates at most hotels and BnBs usually double, sometimes even triple, within the month of specific travel dates.
However, we do offer many reservations with free cancellation policies, which means that changes can be made anywhere from a week to a few days in advance, subject to availability. Let us know if you have any further questions about this!

Know the Limitations
Hotels towards the end of out stay did not have proper accommodations. I contacted route perfect for assistance, however I was dismissed. Beginning of my trip was successful. Recommended the company improve customer assistance programs. Also customer engagement on the front end is recommended. I called several times prior to booking and again when I booked to ensure my accommodations were accurate. I was assured everything was accurate, which was not the case. When I experienced issues at the end of my trip the route perfect team displaced the blame to me for inaccurately booking and took zero accountability for providing poor directions/guidance. Don't market as a service to ease booking accommodations if your aren't going to help. Simply put route perfect is a booking site similar to Expedia - not a helpful guide. Just know the limitations.

Primarily, we would like to address the differences between the abilities and responsibility of our users and our support team.
The complaint made by your party was with regard to the bedding type offered at each of your selected hotels. After receiving the request to change this from you, we did check your package and verified that you were being given the same bedding which you confirmed upon booking your package. On our site, we have thorough explanations of what the different elements of a package are; this includes the trip types and what they determine, room types, bedding types, board types, cancellation policies, and more details. All of this information has been clearly presented in our FAQs since the release of our site many years ago, and is also available for reference with any of our staff members who should be consulted before booking should there be any uncertainty.
In your case specifically, we assure you that no inquiries were made about the bedding type ahead of time that were falsely confirmed by any RoutePerfect representative, and we have all of the correspondence transcribed still to verify this. It seems that in this situation you booked bedding types without realizing what the labels meant, which led you to both ask questions and receive answers which did not really reflect the information you were seeking.
With regards to the services RoutePerfect provides, we are able to offer pre-booking assistance to ensure that what you are booking matches your requirements, and offer post-booking assistance that can help to find suitable solutions and make requested changes if and only if the bookings were made under a policy of free cancellation. Under nonrefundable terms, which are selected and then further confirmed by any user at the time of booking, both RoutePerfect and other travel agencies are unable to make any changes. Please also note that the price paid for your package was directly for the cost of the reservations, and not for any additional services - all travel tips and post-booking maintenance RoutePerfect offers is complementary.
We do hope if there is any further confusion you will reach out to us for further clarification and we will be more than happy to assist. Otherwise, we hope you have the chance for happy travels in the near future.

Such an easy experience
I am so happy I found RoutePerfect. We planned a 12 day Europe trip with kids, knowing only 2 "must do" cities and a desire to maximize seeing as much as we could. RoutePerfect helped us prioritize other locations -- and when we were done, we easily booked all our accommodations without needing to go to outside hotel sites to book each city individually. The hotels we stayed at were perfect. We think we saved some by booking all at once as well. I've been telling people about this site ever since!!

Very cool interactive web site (but check your reservations!)
RoutePerfect did a great job helping us plan our European driving trip. Through the site, we planned our route and it gave us driving times between our destinations. We also booked most of our hotels through them. Some destinations did not have accommodations so we had to book those ourselves. We did have an issue with the wrong hotel being booked (so check your reservation carefully), and they corrected it with no trouble, but it did take a while. Communication with their agents was very professional and friendly! One problem we did have, however, was that one of the hotels closed unexpectedly and no one let us know since we booked through RoutePerfect. I discovered this accidentally while researching check-in times online and contacted RoutePerfect. Their scouts didn't know for some reason, but they did refund our money (along with a $25 credit) and we had to find a hotel ourselves since they said they didn't have any others at that destination in our price category. It all turned out fine, but I'm glad I caught that before we got there with no place to stay! That being said, I would use their service again! Very cool interactive web site!

Italy, The Best Way.
When we planned our trip to Italy , starting in Rome and heading South, Route Perfect allowed us to make all the logistical and budget decisions in the comfort of our home and then we were able to relax and enjoy our vacation once we were on the road. Each hotel met or surpassed our expectations and there was a large variety of options to choose from.
We wouldn't plan another trip to Europe without Route Perfect.
