Update from my last review

Update from my last review. I have had to pay court fees to issue a CCJ against this company. They have failed to reply to the court order and just today I’ve seen they have put a post on FB stating they are going into administration as of 5th November. I suspect they are going down this route because they can’t issue refunds to us from last year.

They delete any negative (truthful) comments about them on FB and claiming they are refunding this years participants for cancelling the 2020 event. More than likely they’ve robbed hundreds of people of their money for as long as they can and then shut the company down when the CCJ’s come flying in.

Companies like this should not be allowed to get away with daylight robbery. It’s a sham and I would not touch them or their future companies with a barge pole.

Event cancelled due to COVID: no refund, ignorance of my correspondence

Event cancelled due to Corona, which I accept is beyond their control. The problem lies in their lack of communication and refusal to refund my money. Like some of the other infamous airlines that assume you're happy with a postponed ticket, they (1) didn't ask for consent for that and (2) have literally ignored every correspondence I've sent them.

Absolutely awful company. Bad organisation and even worse communication. Cancelled event with 2 weeks notice for July 2019. We are still waiting for a refund nearly a year later. Messed around with dates at first and now there is just no communication at all. Dont bother with them.

No refund!

Cancelled the July 2019 event and still no refund for me or any of my friends.

There were a couple of mails saying not to worry and that refunds were on the way, but that has all gone quiet and no responses from the company at all now.

Shocking behaviour. Where is our money!

Event cancelled 10 months later no refund

Over 10 of us booked for the July 2019 north east event, the event got cancelled a week or so before the event date, we were promised refunds by september, then they said december, then finally they said February 2020 - all those dates came and went, still no refund and now they have stopped replying to any email we send.

They have taken over £400 from our group and have seemingly ran off with it absolutely disgraceful!

Small claims court is our final option!

I bought £850 of tickets in Feb 2019…

I bought £850 of tickets in Feb 2019 for the July event of 2019. They contacted just days before saying the event was canceled and we would be refunded by 4th December 2019, I argues with them constantly as i am sure you will understand anything more then 2 weeks is too long to wait for a refund. However this date came and the money did not come in. I contacted them and they have not replied to anything. By now it is too late to use paypal or my bank for refunds as the dates has passed.

I bought these tickets on behalf of my clients (I own a gym) so it has been very damaging for business, their trust with me and will never be able to do this kind of event again as nobody would tryst to buy tickets.

We also bought T-shirts which we lost and lost the deposit of our bus. Absolutely DISGUSTING company.

They also blocked me from their social media pages as i was commented asking WHERE IS MY REFUND!

Wouldn't go near them again!

I entered the North East event in 2019 which was cancelled.

When that got cancelled I basically got an email saying they would work through refunds and basically to not kick up a fuss otherwise I'd go to the back of the queue. So I patiently wait.

Then in December, I get the below email from them... I filled that out and I'm still waiting... It's been 9 months for a refund. Ive emailed them and no response and I doubt I'll ever see that money back.

"Hi James

We hope you're well.

We are sorry that your refund has already taken longer than expected. We have encountered numerous technical difficulties down to the change of ticketing system part way through the season.

We've been trying to work with both platforms for a while to create a system which would allow them to link up but it's simply not been doable, which means we can't issue your refund through either ticketing system. Therefore this will need to be done manually via bank transfer.

Unfortunately, this means another form to fill out, but please can you fill out the form at (link) with your sort code and account number.

We know this is not what you want to hear and sincerely apologise for the further delay this will cause.

Once we've had everyone's details through we'll begin the manual process of bank transfers.

We do appreciate your continued patience. Rest assured all refunds will be processed.

Scam....but get Rough Runner Ltd back through small claims!

Bought several tickets for the North East event in 2019 which was cancelled at short notice. Upon contacting Rough Runner, eventually I received an email from them stating that it can take up to 12 months to get a refund which is completely unreasonable. I soon realised that the late email reply from Rough Runner meant that I was unable to use the Paypal resolution center as I had paid for the tickets more than 180 days previous (the max time permitted by Paypal to use the resolution center) - this appears to have been well calculated by Rough Runner. At the time the T&Cs on their website stated that if you went on to social media to complain about this you would not receive a refund (this appears to have since been removed). I believe the rough runner team who contact you by email are fictional and therefore cannot be held responsible as they do not exist. If you look for Rough Runner Ltd on companies house, you will see that on the 3rd March 2020 a First Gazette notice is listed (compulsory strike off of company). There is clearly something wrong with Rough Runner's finances. My recommendation is to raise a small claim via the UK Government website. It costs £25 which you can claim back as well as the monies you are owed (plus interest). Hopefully you will get your money back this way, but if not, at least you will have some satisfaction in the knowledge that each person who files a claim against this company is raising a red flag against them and hopefully prevent them from gaining any credit, trading in the future and ripping off all the hard working people who put their trust into this company (the £25 small claim fee could be split between all those who paid for tickets in your group to limit any potential individual loss). For those planning to purchase tickets for any upcoming Rough Runner Ltd events AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! *Article edited as Rough Runner complained to Trust Pilot requesting sensitive information to be removed from this post*

Outstanding Refund

We booked and paid two tickets for the July 2019 North East Event totalling £146. The event was cancelled a couple of weeks, the explanation given was insufficient numbers. Over 8 months on, there is still no sign of a refund. There is a distinct lack of customer service and communication and no willingness to resolve the issue. Look at other reviews there are many more others who are in the same situation. I would not recommend booking any of this companies events, happy to take your money and not provide you with what you paid for or give you a refund.

Terrible customer service

Same as many other reviews on this site:
Event was cancelled, was told it would be refunded but could take up to 6 months, 8 months has now passed and still no refund or definite answers from the company.
Rough Runner wont reply to tweets and have been blocking people who tweet when asking about the refund.
