We had water coming into our basement due to a clogged drain pipe from our sump pump. I called Roto-Rooter and they said they could send someone to our home between 8 AM and 10 AM. They said the techn... See more

tech came out and said he had is own supply in truck and could save me money. The quote was 300 more then an other company. Shady company
I have mixed experience about Roto-Rooter
I have mixed experience about the service of this company:
1, Leak detection: The technician Matthew had good communication with me. He was on time, accurately detected the leak under concrete drive way. I should give him a 5 star!
2. Leak repairment: This technician had very bad communication. He suppose to contact me on the same day of leak detected. He never called. I have to call to company's dispatch line and was told he will call me back in 30 min. He never called. Eventually he called 2 days after leak detected. Gave me a ridiculous quote ($6,200 for single leak repair). No schedule mentioned. I called multiple times for the schedule and again, no response. I ended up schedule the leak repair with another company with much reasonable cost.

We had very shock service from the guy who came less than an hour, in and out of his car and called his colleagues for advises. Changed toilet flush valve basically that he did. Charged us $475 it's a untrusted company and people they hire.
Incompetent Scammers
My washing machine drain line was clogged. Roto-Rooter came out but was unable to locate the clog to clear it. Tech demanded payment and said specialist coming out to take care of situation. They sent another man out who tried to sell me $6000+ service where they would install new drain line instead of finding clog. I declined. Two days later I called RR again insisting they find and clear the clog. Tech came out and found the clog but couldn’t clear it.
I called another Plumbing co who was able to clear clog with hand auger!!
I called RR to speak with manager who failed to return call
I emailed RR with complaint but no response.
Roto-Rooter is an absolute nightmare
Roto-Rooter is an absolute nightmare. A "certified technician," Luis G. was sent for a free estimation for a toilet replacement. The next morning, I realized that the valve he turned while assessing was leaking. When I followed up with the company, I was told they are not responsible for "my old pipes." The customer service and manager were extremely dismissive and rude and agreed that the pipes are old.... well my old pipes didn’t leak before your service technician touched them they sent him for a follow up where he unscrewed the valve more and water started dripping faster and he said nothing I can do. AGAIN why would you unscrew it with no intention of fixing it? I called my super of the building, who said I can try to look can I use a tool - the Root-rooter tech didn’t even bring them up. I am just really disappointed in how they conduct business and how unprofessional the entire company is. They claim to fix leaky pipes… they also can create one in your home. My super was eventually able to tighten the valve and stop the leaking... something I guess the "certified technician" could not fix....
Overpriced
The tech was great. Had a hard time finding the sewer flush line and repaired as promised. But they charged me $2041 to clear the line. It was late Saturday afternoon and my toilets and showers had backed up so I felt pressured to get it done. Ask for quote before they come and overcharge you
Roto Rooter has proven to…
Roto Rooter has proven to me to never use them nor recommend them to anyone ever! They came out to fix an issue they had already fixed but said there was warranty on said issue. They ended up sending another person to inspect another part where we had water coming up and then another set of guys to put a camera in our drains. I never asked for any of that they just said it was a courtesy of theirs. Now they want to charge me $950 in labor. For what I don’t know, the invoice just says labor charges no explanation on what kind of labor or nothing. I told them I didn’t have that kind of money to pay right now so they said ok they would send it to collections and put a lien on my home. They are seriously a con artist company. Never again!! Ever!!
Techs broke their drain snake
Techs broke their drain snake in my toilet drain and now they want a ton of money to pull it out. Unbelievable. I have been without running water at all for 3 days and counting, with no end in sight. Do not let these poorly trained plumbers in to your home, they will leave you worse off than you were before.
Company refused to repair problem it created
Having used Roto-Rooter many times over many years, I trusted them to repair a problem with an over-flowing washing machine drain. In the process of fixing the problem, the service man broke a pipe at the joint under a concrete floor, causing water to come up under the floor. After days and days of circular calls, Roto-Rooter refused to send a decision-making manager to our home to examine the problem. Further, an "excavation manager" at the company, sight unseen, referred to our "old and deteriorating" cast iron pipes. I am in possession of the broken pipes, which are not at all deteriorating. Roto-Rooter refuses to correct its mistake at no cost to me. As a result, I am having to sue the company in magistrate court simply to have the problem fixed. I have been met with total obstinance, unreturned e-mail messages and telephone calls, and uninformed conclusions by company representatives. I have spent literally thousands of dollars with this company, but no more. They will never work at my house in the future. The terrible attitude with which I have been met is inexcusable. That I am forced to spend my time taking Roto-Rooter to court over this matter is also inexcusable. The company would rather pay a lawyer several hundred dollars an hour than simply admit its mistake and fix it. This behavior from a company of seemingly good repute is unacceptable and causes me to advise extreme caution to anyone who considers calling it for any kind of in-home plumbing repair.
13 June 2023: Roto-Rooter, as a courtesy, offered to repair my broken pipe at no cost to me. For all, this is an agreeable and welcome conclusion to the matter
Originally negative but all cool now! :-)
I originally left a negative view for Roto-rooter of Pueblo but have since changed it to positive because they communicated.
Companies must communicate with their customers or we won't be coming back... Roto-Rooter communicated and all is okay now. They did great work!
Juan was the technician that came out…
Juan was the technician that came out he was really nice but his work was really bad. We no longer have cold water and he wants another 1000 dollars to come back and fix what he broke.
The single worst experience I’ve ever had
The single worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. No hot water in my house, they give me a time of 8am-12pm to fix it. I am a very patient and understanding person as I work in customer service as well.
They send you a text to confirm when the tech is set to come over, and if you don’t respond in ONE MINUTE they cancel your service.
5+ customer service calls, several same-day reschedules, and 10 hours later and they say “sorry we can’t get someone out there today.” 24/7 service? They can’t even show up to an appointment scheduled for 8am even when they have the whole day to do it.
Through all of this the customer service representatives were very rude, unknowledgeable, and unable to do absolutely anything to help me. I was told over and over again “don’t worry, they’re coming,” at best and insulted at worst.
There is no way I’m ever using Roto Rooter again and I am going to tell everyone I know about how awful they are.
Would give them no stars if it was an…
Would give them no stars if it was an option! The absolute worst company I’ve ever used!! Horrible service and unethical business practices. The service team sat around and talked racking up the hourly rate. Bill was for $1000 more than they quoted.
Cleaning 100 years of drain accumulation.
This review is in reference to RN49210A. Had a maiin drain clog. House isover 100 years old. That is a lot of accumulation. The workers were very professional and knowledgeable. They knew exactly what todo and they did iit quickly. Had great pleasure watching the sludge and grime among other things washing away on their camera. The men were very friendly and weren't annoyed with me with my many questions.
A nightmare
A nightmare, i had a backup sewer line and flood my basement, called roto rooter and the came with the snake, i paid 3k for the service with my debit card, than he offered me to dry the basement witch i was going to do my self but they told me only pay 1000 deductible and your insurance will pay the rest i said no because 1000 dollars its already a lot for that job but i end up doing since insurance was paying but i told them im not paying 1 dime more and he said , no from now on we deal with insurance not you.
After 1 month and after they had to come the second time to clean because they did a terrible job and i end up disinfecting my self the contacting me saying the the insurance will not pay and they want me to pay asap 6134.08 or they have to put a lien on my property. I told them i was very clear that i didn't want to pay 1000 deductible but they forced me and end up paying the deductible and not a dime more.4000 dollars was already a lot for what it was done ( 3000 for snake and 1000 deductible) now they after me for another 6134 total 10.134 for a hours work that i had to do it my self after the mess they left.
Over priced
Over priced. Called Roto-Rooter to fix a gas water heater. Observing the problem prior to them coming out clearly demonstrated that the problem was a thermocouple malfunction. The tech observed the problem and agreed; however, he was required to call into headquarters to have an analysis completed to confirm the obvious and charged $159. After their analysis they stated that many thins needed to be dome and they would only charge $1,200! Heck I could be a new one for less!
Called Roto Rooter to clear a clogged…
Called Roto Rooter to clear a clogged storm drain on 29 December 2022 in Seattle area. After waiting the following day, I found out they lost the order. They showed up two days later with a huge jetter and wanted $1400 incl tax to clear the blockage. They would not discuss pricing on the phone. Their jetter failed to operate so they departed. Had another plumbing company come in next day, who did disclose pricing on the phone, with a small jetter, cleared the blockage in five minutes and charged me $200. IMO, Roto Rooter should be your LAST call, not your first. While there was more, this is the short version.
worst plumbing service imaginable! stay away
we had a water leak due to a blocked drain in our 2nd floor bathroom with flooding on our first floor and basement, first plumber was unable to clear the blockage, Roto Rooter sends a second technician today who despite my saying that the first was unable to clear the drain and recommended a camera, this technician walks in with dirty boots, flushes the toilet to "what would happen," floods our house again and when my wife asks him not step on our carpeting with his wet muddy boots, he leaves in a huff.
Absolutely the worst plumbing service I've ever encountered!
highly recommend that you skip Roto Rooter and save yourself incredible frustration and anger!
Worst service experience imaginable
Terrible company that doesn't stand…
Terrible company that doesn't stand behind it's work. Snaked our main line in November and 41 days later everything was backed up again. They stood behind their 30 day guarantee. When you are charging 863.57 you should at least stand behind your work for 41 days. Will never use this company again.
Wanted to give an update...emailed them as per their response and no one reached out to me, it's been 3 weeks, not holding my breath.
Total Rip Off do not use this Company…
Total Rip Off do not use this company you will be upset. Charged us almost $550 to replace a part that cost $39 a home depot and take 30 to 45 mins to replace with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. This company is truly ripping people off. Please report them to the BBB. DEFINITELY WILL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE STATE.
