scam: refusing legal refund to a minor 16 years old for a very bad knitted prom dress!!

Beware of this webshop! My 16-year-old daughter bought a dress here on May 7th using a guest account. The item was delivered on June 8th and turned out to be completely defective (poorly and unevenly stitched, totally unwearable). We emailed them four times since June 10th without any response. They only replied after we posted complaints, but they refuse to respect the legal 14-day cooling-off period. They are trying to rip off a minor by offering a shameful 15% discount on a broken product. This is an illegal dropshipping operation running under the name Rosie Lane, while collecting payments via Stripe under the name 'Miss Mabel'. A formal fraud report has now been filed with the Dutch Consumer Authority (ACM / ConsuWijzer) and an investigation has been launched with the bank for online scamming. Do not buy anything here!

Don’t waste your time or money

I ordered a dress from Rosie Lane during their supposed ‘Anniversary Sale’ and was disappointed with the item on arrival.

I contacted them within 22 days of ordering (and within 14 days of delivery) to request a return — well within both their advertised 30-day return window and my statutory 14-day cooling-off right as an online customer.

Charlotte Williams at Rosie Lane refused my return, citing a ‘Final Sale’ clause included in their email response. However, this clause does not appear anywhere in their publicly published refund policy, which offers a 30-day return window with no mention of sale items being excluded.
Their homepage also advertises ‘Hassle-Free Returns.’

Despite multiple emails citing the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and pointing out the discrepancy between the policy they sent me and the one on their website, they have refused to budge — instead offering a 10% and then 20% partial refund as ‘goodwill gestures.’

I am now pursuing a chargeback through my bank and have reported the matter to Trading Standards.

I would strongly advise others to be cautious when purchasing from this retailer, particularly during sale periods.

Send incorrect products and then refuse refunds

Ordered a dress from this “company” - when it arrived was a completely different dress. When emailed the business took no responsibility for their mistake claiming that the two dresses were the same (the one I ordered had a corset back, the one I received didn’t) and only offered a 10% refund. Absolute joke, do not order from here!
