Overall good experience, results are gradual as expected, though I wish the process felt a bit smoother.
My husband used this product exactly as prescribed for over 8 months. It made his hair fall out in big pieces. He was patient for results but they never came and made the problem much worse. After stopping use, things got much better quickly.
I am in my fifth month of using my personalized prescription. I experienced some very aggressive scalp peeling during the first month, which was not unexpected due to the presence of retinol in the formulation. I have already seen a significant amount of new growth, with a substantial improvement compared with minoxidil alone.
I reached out to them several times during the initial weeks. They are not immediately responsive, but they have consistently replied within twenty-four hours. Based on my personal experience, it has been worth it.
I use the topical solution the one the contains .25 dutasteride for 11 months. Did not see any results! The DNA kit is a scam! they just gave me the highest prescription per the photos I uploaded, i believe . I didn’t get any special custom prescription. I cancel the subscription waste of money! I will look to oral medication as it might be more effective. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone using their products.
I have been using Roots by GA for 4 months and I have not noticed any new growth of hair. I decided to cancel my subscription due to this. At $98 a month I didn’t see the point in wasting more money.
it feels like a scam to me.
Their system is broken. No emails what so ever.
No personalization.
No one even calls or schedule an appointment to go over your test results.
there is an automated email being sent to everyone
also a generic email to explain your test results
My wife ordered Roots, and I saw how well it worked for her, so I gave it a shot. Best decision! My hair feels healthier and fuller already.
It's a scam. They charge $58.00 for the 1st bottle and then double the cost for the second bottle. I have not seen any results yet after one month of use.
In response to their reply: I have since gone to a professional Hair Loss medical team and got a prescribed formula for approximately $40 month. They did a full examination and will be working with me personally. I urge you all to work with a doctor or a trichologist and not rely on an online program.

Reply from Rootsbyga
The process - a spit-based genetic test used to prepare a custom hair solution sent to me monthly - was simple and I’m very happy with the results I’ve got with the product.
Finally I got the answers I've been looking for!!! It really is in my DNA. I've been battling thinning and hair loss ever since I had my first daughter 23 years ago. So incredibly embarrassing as a woman. .😞 I've been on minoxidil, and probably ever combination of vitamins, and products out there. But Rootsbyga unlocked all the answers! I started seeing results within months. Can't say enough! Yes it's expensive but no telling how much money and time I've spent with absolutely no results. So worth it.
“I am absolutely thrilled with my experience using Roots! After struggling with thinning hair for years and trying countless products with little success, I finally found something that actually works. Within just a few weeks, I noticed new growth along my hairline and in areas that had been thinning for ages. The serum is lightweight, non-greasy, and absorbs quickly, making it easy to incorporate into my daily routine.
Not only does Roots deliver incredible results, but it also feels luxurious to apply—the scent is subtle and refreshing. I appreciate that it’s formulated with high-quality ingredients, which has given me full confidence in using it long-term. Roots has genuinely transformed my hair, and I’m so excited to continue seeing progress. If you’re looking for a hair growth solution that actually delivers, I cannot recommend Roots enough!”
It's a scam. Don't fall for it. It's expensive, full of marketing gimmicks, 99% bs. Breakdown:
- Bought the product on 5 July and 49 days later I still didn't have it.
- The genetic testing is a scam. It is not used in any way to personalize your prescription. For example, Dutasteride was shown in red meaning "blocked" in the testing, but then included in my prescription. Later they tried to clarify that Dutasteride was actually recommended in higher doses according to my genes (?!), just to later on prescribe it but in a low dose (?!). Yes, nothing makes sense.
- Genetic testing also show Finasteride in green (recommended) and Dutasteride in red (blocked), but Finasteride was not prescribed.
- False advertising on "Essential Growth Oils". They say "Proprietary formulations of natural oils" but their product has no oils at all. When I asked why they ghosted me, and when I asked for a refund they replied vaguely that it was because they're having "issues with the base". Compounding pharmacies use oils all the time with no problems.
- False advertising on "Vitamins + Amino Acids". They say "Clinically Validated Vitamins, Amino Acids" but their product has no vitamins or amino acids at all. The guy that seems to own the place called me and tried to say that Caffeine was a vitamin 🤦♂️
- False advertising on "Reviewed by board certified dermatologists". It's more like this: if men then product A, if women then product B.
- Undisclosed need to upload driver license. They don't disclose the fact that they require you upload your driver license before creating the fake formula. Good luck trusting this scammy company with your personal information.
Sorry no refunds! Our genetic test is meaningless and fake, we don't use it in our formulation, we falsely advertise essential oils and amino acids but we don't put any, our entire process is amateurish and unprofessional... but no refunds. I had to threaten chargeback with my card 5 times before they finally agreed.
Nobody should buy this scam, it's 0/10.
