Fabulous
I recently bought the discovery set, which arrived quickly and safely. It's fantastic! I'm really excited by these perfumes, run of the mill they are not. They're not all for me - I wouldn't expect all six in any discovery set to work for me - but I love 3 of them (Thurible, Amber, and Undergrowth), and will be purchasing a full bottle. (Decisions, decisions, which one...?) I like that the packaging is minimalist, tho' not wowed by the design (or that the samples are in plastic vials), but I'm buying the scent, not something to put on my wall, and aware of the constraints on a small - but very exciting! - company.
Fantastic products and customer service
First order was the Discovery Set and the perfumes are just amazing. Really enjoyed the depth in the layers of scents. Love Jaffa scent especially. The company offered fantastic customer service. Will recommend to friends for sure.
STAY AWAY SCAM
FAKE REVIEWS WARNING
Disgusting, disappointment, awful.
Trusted the company to get long lasting perfume, got an item worse than that they sell in pharmacy for 20£ as the smell does not hold at all and the quality is literally dog’s poo-poo. After politely calling the company out, got name called. I suggest going anywhere else. Save your money and nerves.
Will report to bank as fraud.

A unique brand with gorgeous perfumes and stellar customer service
I've had three great experiences with Rook. My initial gamble on an order for Baklava Musk paid off, and it's been my signature scent for over a year. I've received lots of compliments on it, with a number of people asking me what I'm wearing. I tried the discovery scents recently in a bid to find a new Rook favourite. I'd assumed that Suede or Amber would be the ones for me, but was pleasantly surprised to discover that Thurible was gorgeous and immediately ordered a full bottle with a great Black Friday discount! I'd never have chosen this one from the description, and trying all the different fragrances was really fun. The samplers will be great for travel, too.
Nadeem is extremely responsive to emails and has created something really unique with Rook. I love the whole experience, from choosing a perfume to placing an order and the packaging on arrival. It feels great supporting a small fragrance brand too, and I love reading the stories behind each scent. I don't think I've ever smelled so good!
Ordered the RSX discovery set
Ordered the RSX discovery set. I was hoping to find a favourite to go with Undergrowth & Tea chest. What I wasn't expecting was to love them all...wow. I don't know how Nadeem does this but please keep doing it. This is an amazing set of samples. One of my all time favourite fragrances, Amouage Memoir has slipped right down the list. Thank you 🙂.
I think perfumes are a personal thing
I think perfumes are a personal thing. I personally love Undergrowth. It transports me to a place I love and I can't really ask for any more than that. I wasn't expecting to like Flaming Dandelion but I also love the transportative qualities of that.
I have to say I'm not a big fan of the massive sweeping mysogynist generalisations though, so as an actual person called Karen, am not a fan of seeing those in the comments. If a person is behaving badly, there are a number of perfectly suitable words to describe them without having to resort to insulting those of us who happen to be called Karen, and people who feel the need to resort to that kind of insult are not people who impress me. Aim higher.
Couldn't return, didn't love the scent
Ordered an RSX perfume as a gift for my mom, but ultimately got her something else. I thought they did returns for unopened bottles, but that didn't apply to RSX perfumes. A bummer!
I ended up opening the RSX scent (origami) and it is really not to my taste. I expected more green/matcha vibes but it smelled like a cloying forest fire and burnt rubber. It was very acrid and unpleasant.
I wish there was a way to exchange for a different scent. I loved Undergrowth and Forest and would have been down to test something else.

These perfumes are incredible
These perfumes are incredible, they’re so unique, not similar to anything. My absolute favourite is Undergrowth, like earth and cut grass but wearable as a perfume!
And since the company have released a perfume in support of the Palestinian people, with all profits going to help them, I love this little unique company even more.
Fast Service, Packaging Could Be Improved
I ordered the sample for Baklava Musk on 17/11, and received it on 21/11, which is quite an impressive turnaround. I took advantage of the Black Friday discount, and was pleased to see that free shipping was still available alongside this.
Upon arrival, I did feel that the packaging was a little lacklustre for the price point. The envelope had no padding to protect the sample, which was contained in a plain black resealable bag, and the label on the sample itself was skew. Considering the sample is priced at £12 for 3ml, I would have hoped for a little more effort in packaging & presentation - even just taking a bit more care in attaching the label, using a padded envelope/inner bag, or placing a branded sticker on the resealable bag would make quite a difference.
Onto the sample itself - I did not expect it to smell as it did. From the notes included in Baklava Musk, I was expecting something fairly mellow, nutty, a little sweet and musky (both from the name and notes). However, I was initially greeted with a strong smoky scent, followed by a slightly nutty/anise background. I have given it around an hour and have noted a little more sweetness, pistachio, and coffee coming through, though the projection has decreased significantly (I refreshed my sense of smell with some coffee grounds and can't smell it much on the paper anymore, and it only lingers somewhat on my skin). The evolution of this scent is really quite interesting, but it does maintain an unanticipated smokiness in the background.
Overall, I wouldn't personally associate the sample with baklava nor musk. It initially smells like barbecued nuts to me, then a strong cup of coffee, ultimately evolving to a pistachio macchiato with a cigar on the side after a few hours. I will try it out a few times on skin/clothes, and update my review accordingly. I do also think that the product could be more reasonably priced, e.g. £8 for a sample + free shipping as standard (I wouldn't have ordered without the 30% discount, in other words), though I understand that it can be more difficult for smaller brands to absorb costs. I would also like to see some smaller bottles available, e.g. 10ml (for which I think £23 would be reasonable), so one can try the product thoroughly before committing to the full 50ml, or generally own a travel-sized version. My rating reflects 4* for the fragrance and shipping, and -1* for the packaging.
I find the background of the owner to be quite inspirational, so am happy to have provided some minor support to him in his endeavours, even if I end up not making a further purchase. I would love to see Rook Perfumes evolve to take on some sustainability efforts in the near future (recycled packaging, glass sample bottles with a screw top so that they can be reused), and best of luck to Nadeem and his business. :)

It's a very honest smell that is all I can say beautiful
Excellent customer service, awful product
I saw these perfumes advertised on Facebook and was actually quite drawn to them because of the replies the owner posts to people who slag off the brand. I thought he was funny and quite blunt, and decided to give the sample pack a try.
I buy sample packs from lots of perfumers because I don't want to commit to something I haven't smelt before, obviously, and there is always at least one that I like which makes it worth the money. So I ordered these, and they surprisingly arrived the next day, which is excellent service. The packaging was also very nice - black atomisers in a black opaque ziplock-type bag.
Now, I know that scents are subjective. We don't all like the same things, and that's ok. However, these perfumes are beyond awful. I'm not a professional perfumer, but I am a person who has a nose. I also know other people who have noses. There is concensus on the fact that these perfumes are completely unwearable. Two of them make you smell like you've been sitting too close to a bonfire and a third smells exactly like Toilet Duck. They are wholly unsophisticated scents and certainly not as 'divine' as these other reviewers make out.
I have given two stars for the excellent speed of delivery and the amusing demeanour of the owner. I'll no doubt get flamed by him for this review, but it is an honest one, and as anyone running a business knows, that's the only type that counts!
EDIT: I've added another star for the thoughtful, respectful and rapid response to my review which, while honest, was also tongue-in-cheek. Thanks again for taking it so well and I wish you and your business all the best!

Bully!
Shame to see you bullying people on Facebook, and then blocking them! You literally called a girl a troll and mocked her hair lmfao, so childish, you answer back to any negative comments with hate too, your perfumes aren’t worth the disgusting price you’re charging, shame on you

This is a fine Japanese boutique kind of fragrance
Got my order today. I really enjoy Tea Chest and Origami.
The Tea Chest is exactly how I will describe it. It smells like walking into a Japanese boutique shop with a vintage wood chest. Very nice woody & incense notes at first and slowly became a nice child memory, smooth and joyful.
The Origami is like looking at this paper crane made of dark smoky wood with fine leather garnish.
Really appreciate the communication. The seller followed up with me immediately after the email.
Thank you

Thanks!
Really helpful and speedy customer service. Remember to sign up for the newsletter to get a coupon for your samples! The scents are really unique. They go on strong but settle nicely. I won’t comment on the scents themselves as scent preference is so subjective, but they don’t irritate my skin, and do seem to last throughout the day.
Mediocre perfume and Bad Logistics.
_Customer services are always available and respond really fast.
_very bad and undeveloped logistic strategies for the shipment (might cost up to 40 euros for a perfume that costs 109) and UX with their website were really bad.
_order was placed on 24th May, (shipment payment included) and received on 7th June having to pay another 12 euros for import duties ( which are usually covered by the sender) for an order of a total amount of 18 pounds...
the response was: this was clearly indicated on our website. ( which i have to check again to verify) but still impacts the over all customer experience
_Several bugs in the website in generating discount codes, and other areas of the website.
_ Monotone perfumes due to miscalculation (probably) of prime ingredients, 5 samples all smell the same, (slight differences in the opening notes)
overall, BEST sample kit I have ever bought. saved me from eventually spending any more money on this brand. This review however is not meant in any way as a personal attack on this brand, and i understand how an startup might need to mature. how ever there is still a long way to reach that apex for Rook Perfumes.

Unfortunately the scents are very short lived. I got maybe two hours max out of them after that not even a base note left.

Fragrances for the mind.
These are really unique and striking fragrances that evoke memories of special times and places. The introductory package, of a generous sample of each different mood, arrived quickly. Good product and good service.
Such beautiful scents
I am so grateful for the Rook Discovery Sample Set.
It enabled me to spend time getting to know six different Rook scents well and to decide which I preferred most. I’ve now got two favourites and will shortly be purchasing one of them. The scents are truly lovely. Thank you, Rook.
Unpleasant funk.
Ordering and delivery were fine. The scents on the other hand… all have an underlying funk that’s not a good funk. I won’t be ordering any.
