Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 31 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it horrendous, difficult to reach, and staffed by agents who were perceived as rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful, often providing inconsistent information. Customers also encountered significant issues with payments, including lengthy processing times for electronic payments, unexpected blocks on transactions without explanation, and problems with overpayments not being resolved. Reviewers also reported frustrations with the card's value, particularly regarding foreign transaction fees that negated rewards, and concerns regarding payment allocation on balance transfers. Some people also felt that the process for identity verification was cumbersome and that the bank's security measures, such as locking cards during travel, were poorly handled.

Terrible Online Experience

Terrible Online Experience — Cannot View Statements
I have been unable to view my statements for over a week now — both on the website and the mobile app. This is completely unacceptable for a financial institution. How am I supposed to manage my account and payments when I can't even see my bill? I've tried multiple browsers and reinstalled the app with no luck.
When I reached out about potentially waiving the bill since I physically cannot view it, there was no satisfactory resolution. Rogers Bank needs to seriously invest in fixing its digital platform. This is not the first time users have reported these issues, and clearly nothing has changed.
Would not recommend this card to anyone who values reliable access to their own financial information.

the customer service agents are like so rude and unprofessional teams. Never solve the problems and every agents get their own answers for same question. NO TRAINING AT ALL BEFORE YOU GET THIS JOB?????? The tones they speak like "you are an idoit""you dont undertand what im talking about". The card feature says either rogers fido or shaw get 2% cash back. I called 6 times and they give me 6 different answers why I can't get 2% becasue I am fido users. The MOST ridiculous customer service teams EVER.

Completely impossible website and app

Completely impossible website and app. Locks me out constantly. Virtually no rewards to having this card and then this login aggravation on top of it has led me to delete this credit card from my life. Save yourself the aggravation there are much more worthy cards.

SHITTY customer service

Their customer service is absolutely horrendous.
They tall blatant lies like "you can't see pending transactions in the app". How come then, do I have a screenshot of the pending transaction that I am calling you about?

And the survey about their crappu customer service doesn't even work.

Rogers Bank is abhorrent in their customer service and billing and overall. I have been trying for six months to get statements on my Mastercard since I'm unable to print them in their online system. I have filed seven requests with their customer service/IT Department and not one call back. I was two days late paying my bill and I got two emails a text message and a phone call. Cancelled my credit card and will never bank with these yahoos again.

I have had a terrible experience with Rogers bank.I notified Rogers bank of fraudulent scam activity with my account. They initially blocked my card for security reasons and said they would initiate and investigation. Then Rogers bank after many conversations for 4 weeks said they had closed my account , i asked details of why they would close my account there answer was they were not obligated to give a reason.By closing my account I can not access my account activities online and they will not give access for me to review account. They said and are sending me statements of account by mail yet they are charging me five dollars a statement for this. This is Rogers responsibility not mine.By closing my account that does not relieve Rogers bank of there responsibility .

It is always a hassel when an unwanted transaction appears on your credit card, even when the transaction was illegally charged to your card. Instead of protecting the ccard holder, Rogers obliiges the card holder to desl with the merchant which is often impossible to do.

labsolutely do NOT recommend Rogers…

labsolutely do NOT recommend Rogers Bank. This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with a bank. I submitted everything they asked for, completed all verification, and was told I was verified-yet my account is still locked. I clearly told them I need access to make payments, but it's been TWO WEEKS and they keep hiding behind the same excuse: "it's still under review."
All of this happened over a simple Paysafe card purchase. I've spoken to their so-called security team multiple times, and every conversation goes nowhere. No explanations, no urgency, no timeline-just
"wait." This is beyond ridiculous and completely unacceptable for a financial institution.

Will file a complaint soon to the ombudsman!

Whenever I called Rogers' customer… got disappointed

Whenever I called Rogers' customer service, I decided to cut my ties to the company. They are always trying to convince the charges, and everything is correct. Teach me finance 101!!!!! For what? Justifying ripping the customers totally makes sense. The number they try to save by wasting our time is less than $100!!!!
But what they don't understand is customer Satisfaction and TRUST! They just read your T&C several times and are saying, "We apologize!" But at the same time, it is constantly ripping the customer off with an ambiguous business plan.

All of you may have experience with Balance transfer; they offer balance transfers, and after accepting, you will pay about 30% on any other new purchase. Makes sense. So you buy, and you pay for it immediately. But they still charge interest on that!!!! Why?
No matter how much more you pay, let's say you got $20k balance transfer, your purchase was $1k, and your payment was $1k. Roegrs use your payment (20/21) toward the loan (i.e., $20k) and (1/21) toward your purchase. And justify the perpetual purchase interest charge until you pay off the whole balance you owe.

And the funny part is, they think it's fair because it's in the terms and conditions that if you purchase, you'll pay interest. Still fine, the catch is that they never disclose how they use your payment. And this is the dirty trick they rip off customers with a 20%-30% interest charge. They never disclose the allocation method for customer payments.

If a so-called bank (e.g. Rogers Bank) and financial institutions (e.g. Simplii Financial) think they can do whatever they want because others do it as well, that does not make it legitimate.

This method is an obvious USURY.

Many things wrong with this bank

Be careful!

1) Terrible dispute process. Should you make a purchase with your Rogers Credit card and use your phone and there is an issue with the product or service such as goods not received, not as described and many other reasons, RB will deny your dispute because it's a "binary process" — if the purchase is made by tap or NFC it's considered non-disputable.

2) Random online transactions get declined with a fake excuse that your CCV is wrong.

3) They falsely send email and text alerts to claim a "an attempt was made" on your card for a valid transaction when in fact it was a successful transaction alarming the customer there might be fraud.

Dreadful Experience with Rogers Bank

I had an absolutely dreadful experience with Rogers Bank. With a solid credit score of 746 and only about 5% utilization, I was pre-approved for their credit card. I went ahead with the application expecting a smooth process, but instead, I received a decline notice with no proper explanation.

It’s shocking and extremely disappointing to be pre-approved and then rejected despite having a strong profile. This shows a serious lack of transparency and reliability in how Rogers Bank handles credit applications. Their process feels misleading at best, and frankly, it makes me question how they treat customers once they’re actually on board.

I would strongly caution anyone considering applying for a Rogers Bank credit card — don’t be fooled by their so-called “pre-approval.”

In 2025 I discovered I was a victim of identity theft

In 2025 I discovered from my banker that I was a victim of identity theft. Someone opened an account with Toronto's Rogers bank using my credentials. This is identity theft. I have spoken with various depts. from Rogers bank including their security team. I never dealt with such a bunch of empty headed bimbos in all my life from this bank. Rogers bank is operated by a bunch of people that barely speak English if any English at all yet their phone prompt says press #1 for English. My experience with Rogers continues to be a nightmare as some employees are arrogant and hateful while loudly talking over you so you can't get a word in while conversing. I suggest to everyone to never give your personal information to this bank for your own personal security. My identity theft case is still open and ongoing after 6 months of continually calling them including the police from my own city reaching out to them and but still unresolved. Upon me hanging up the phone on their security agent with disgust, within minutes he called me back to ask me my DOB. When I asked him why he wanted this personal information, he then changed the subject and claimed he never asked the question at all. It wouldn't be surprised Rogers bank employees were committing identity theft themselves and covering their tracks by blaming it on scammers outside of their bank. Don't deal with Rogers. Go with TD instead or other reputable Canadian Banks, at least they speak proper English and are more polite.
