Disappointing

Had a really disappointing visit which began with the waiter telling us that if we wanted to order lunch we would have to wait at least 10-15 mins even though it was almost 12.35 and the lunch menu clearly states lunch is available from 12.00. We actually didn’t mind waiting - we ordered coffees which were good. Once we had ordered our food (sandwiches/chips/coleslaw) we waited almost 30 mins - which again we didn’t mind - but what arrived was so disappointing and not of a standard we were expecting from a farmshop. The waitress was in such a rush she didn’t give us cutlery (which we had to pinch from an empty table nearby). The turkey and stuffing sandwich I had was very dry and seriously underwhelming. The bread didn’t taste fresh and the turkey was also dry and the quality was more Bernard Matthew’s than farmshop. The “homemade” stuffing was also disappointing and def not homemade! My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich which again was very dry even though it should have had bbq sauce. It was basically reheated meat with melted cheese. At no point did anyone come over to see if everything was ok - there were enough staff working they just didn’t seem to care once they had delivered the food. Tables around us were left dirty and we were also aware of people waiting to be seated who walked away when no-one acknowledged them. My daughter hit the nail on the head by saying the restaurant really didn’t match the quality and service customers receive on the shop side. When paying for the meal I expressed my disappointment and the lady I spoke to listened and very swiftly/fairly deducted the cost of the food from the bill. It was a shame because I would have genuinely preferred to have paid for a good meal.
Not sure we will be back.

How can you get potato skins to taste…

How can you get potato skins to taste so bad!
Hard dry potato skin, (and not in a good way)
Should have been filled with bacon, cheese and spring onions.
It was actually filled with reheated lumps of dry potato, one piece of bacon , one slice of spring onion and if there was cheese it was very well hidden.
Dry, Tasteless and certainly not worth the price charged.
When I commented to the waiter he looked very flustered and said he would have to 'find' someone. And that he was sure it would be better next time!!
Would I ever go back to ...Never.
The farm shop side five out of five but forget trying to cook your fabulous produce yourselves. I

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service.
The middle aged man who works in the upstairs cafe at Robertshaws Skipton should not be in customer service! Simple as that, just down right rude, and offensive.
I suspect he is only like that with women / vulnerable people?
Quite frankly your patrons don't need condescending judgement or health advice from your staff!!

Great breakfast menu!

The new French chef at Robertshaws in Skipton has transformed the breakfast menu. There's a classic Farmer's Breakfast (regular or large) with perfectly-cooked top class ingredients, ranges of eggs-on-toast and dry cured bacon teacakes, or a veggie version, and a mouthwatering granola and berry dessert. There are also potato rostis, pancakes, porridge and a range of kids' meals, plus the usual hot drinks and juices. Service is friendly, with supportive help to make personal variations on the themes.
