Aesthetically, amazing. Quality-wise, not so much. My Andreas was durable — after four years of hiking, festivals, and everyday use, it’s still holding up. But the Neal model with Brain Dead fell apart, and my Daiquiri High did too. Most recently, I tried the Katharina — well, it’s more suited for fashion weeks than for the mountains. Sadly, the rubber part at the toe completely fell apart. I hope they’ll improve the quality in the future!
I bought ROA shoes and wore them about five times before they broke. I took them in for repair and barely wore them afterward, but they broke again in a different spot.
Considering their price and the expectations around their overall quality, this is extremely disappointing.

DONT BUY IT!
You will remember me if you prefer to buy that Roa thing. I warned you!

Despite reading many posts about ROA’s poor quality, I decided to buy a pair of Katharina shoes through Farfetch. After just a few light uses in the city (not even hiking), the glue started to fall apart. I love the design, but the quality is terrible for such an expensive shoe. They offered me a refund, but not an exchange for a good pair. I even had to take a newly purchased €345 "hiking" shoe to a repair shop to glue it.
Learn from me and don't buy these shoes.
I bought a jacket from them last year and it was fine, so it seems the problem is only with the shoes. Very disappointing because I like ROA’s design.
I feel I have no choice but to warn others about the poor quality.
Sad but true.

Awful, love the shoes but the quality is horrendous. Completely fallen apart after less than 6 months, I’ve probably worn them 2 times a month MAX
Don’t bother with them
£239 down the drain

I have bought a pair of Roa Andreas noix (550€ UVP) in February 2024 but just tarted wearing them recently as I was travelling the whole last winter through SEA. I have only worn the boots, advertised as "technical hiking footwear" in the city for a few starting this autumn. Unfortunately, the fabric inside at the heel of the right boot broke and is completely worn through and I can feel the same issue beginning in the left one. Additionally, the rubber edging around the left boot is starting to peel off.
Considering the exorbitant high price and limited use, I am extremely disappointed. I literally can't wear the boots anymore because they would fall apart completely soon without a repair.
I tried reaching out to the customer service, but they didn't take any accountability and just refered to the retailer - jole.it - whose completely ghosted my two emails I've send them.
Incredibly disappointed because I felt in the beginning that I have purchased a quality piece of clothing "made in italy".

In July 2025 I purchased a pair of Roa Cingino shoes via the Italian retailer Michelle Franzese Moda. I initially wanted to return them and contacted the retailer to start the return process – but after my request, they never replied and I was left without any option to send them back.
I then decided to keep the shoes and wore them for the very first time on August 25, 2025. After only 7 km of light hiking, the side sole/rock guard already started to detach. For such an expensive product, this is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, neither the retailer nor Roa provided any helpful or timely customer service. No solution, no accountability.
Conclusion: overpriced shoes with poor quality and terrible customer service from both the retailer and the brand. Strongly not recommended. Photos of the damage are attached.

I bought a pair of ROA Canvas Shorts a while ago and waited before writing a review to really test them out. I’ve got to say, they’re one of the best pieces in my wardrobe! The quality is top-notch. I’ll definitely be buying from ROA again, and next time I’m going straight to the source.

Two weeks after purchase, and after wearing them only in the city, the shoes were already wrinkled and deformed. The company initially offered only a 10% discount as compensation, and only after I insisted did they raise it to 20%. They refused both a return and a refund. These shoes are marketed as technical footwear, but they are extremely low quality. They are just fashion shoes with no real design standards — far from what they claim to be.

I recently purchased a ROA jacket through an authorized retailer and found a clear manufacturing defect: the inner fabric of one pocket was stitched shut, making it unusable.
For a brand that positions itself as premium, this level of quality is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, ROA declined any support or repair because the jacket was purchased through a retailer.
Other outdoor brands – even more affordable ones – offer basic repairs or goodwill solutions for such defects, regardless of where the item was bought.
Great design, but poor quality control and disappointing after-sales service make me hesitant to buy ROA again.

Bought two pairs of Roa Shoes, Katharina and Cingino shoes. Really liked the design, but quality, comfort and customer service were so much below average standard and more so taking the price tag into consideration. It feels like a fake product, falling apart after light use within months. I guess Italian design combined with very low cost production somewhere in Asia. Strong recommendation to think at least twice before buying any ROA shoes.

My Andreas fell apart with minimal use - really disappointing for such an expensive shoe. I reached out to the company, but they refused to take responsibility because I bought it from another retailer. At this price point, you'd expect at least decent customer service. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
Ask anyone you know - everyone will tell you the quality is far below the price point.

Awfully made shoes, had a pair of the katharina and they fell apart after a week, because I bought them on a different site they refused to help even though it was a quality isssue there end, and also they answered with a robotic and unhelpful response similar to the one they will reply to this review with… they won’t help just tell you to contact where you bought the shoe, 1/10 quality for a ridiculous price

Purchased a pair of ROA Katharina shoes around 3 months ago. Have worn them roughly 3-4 times a week travelling Europe (in primarily urban conditions) and can genuinely say these are the lowest quality shoes I have ever worn, especially for the price tag. The outer layer of the shoe completely splits from the glue holding it in place after a few wears at the points wear the foot bend. I believe that Roa once had a reputation as a solid company with good manufacturing however I think if you are considering buying anything from this brand please read up to date reviews. I have completely wasted money on these shoes and will be replacing them with a much cheaper and higher quality alternative. Additionally, the shoe is not very comfortable for long wears, it is quite a heavy shoe so I would not wear in certain climates, and has a very firm structure that has caused ankle irritation on occasion. If ROA had any form of leniency or customer support for faulty shoes I would most definitely be returning them straight away.

Bought a pair of katerina shoes in may 2024. After wearing them for 5-6 times, they started falling apart. Poor stitching and terrible glue.
I used to guide people in the Norwegian mountain, so I’ve tried multiple hiking brands, both cheap and expensive ones. This is by far the most expensive one, and also the poorest quality I’ve ever experienced in any hiking product or shoe I’ve ever owned.
After a lot of back and forth with customer service, they offered 10% back as a solution, and said they couldn’t refund me since i didn’t have the shoebox. Also the replies made it feel like i was talking to a AI bot, had to ask the same questions multiple times before I got a sloppy response.
shame on you ROA, I can’t fathom that a brand of this quality, can charge that much for their poorly constructed products.
If you bother to read this, I would strongly advise to avoid buying any product from this brand. 1/10

Had the Neal shoe for around about 6 months and they already started falling apart bought from DSM, who stated they were built in Italy but when checked on the ROA website it said made in China. I don't wear the shoes daily but have already experienced issues with the stitching falling apart and the rubber starting to rip.

I'm very disappointed with the quality of my new Katharina shoes, which I saved up for a few months :(
At the bending point, the rubber is peeling off and starting to crack, and I've only been using them for 3 weeks. I thought I had found my favorite model, however, I must say that Im unlikely to ever buy anything from this company again…

Amazing sturdy shoe. I like the lightweight of it and the fit. Great design.
