I cannot recommend this dealership and would advise anyone to Avoid at all costs.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from this dealership and the owner karl. After trading in two vehicles as part of a purchase agreement, the dealer failed to notify the DVLA of the change of keeper. Weeks later, I received official correspondence confirming that I am still recorded as the keeper of both vehicles, which are now showing as untaxed and uninsured — despite the fact that they have been in the dealer’s possession since the day of the trade‑in.
To make matters worse, the dealer karl refused to allow us access to our own V5C documents. We had to repeatedly chase for updates and even return to the showroom in person just to try to get the V5C documents (it appears he has done this multiple times). Despite all of this, the DVLA was still never notified.
This failure has exposed me to potential fines, enforcement action, and legal liability for vehicles I do not own or control. We also have evidence that both vehicles remain on the dealer’s forecourt, making the lack of DVLA notification completely unacceptable. (we have now received fines from the DVLA for both cars and the owner Karl is nowhere to be seen)
Ensuring DVLA updates is a basic legal responsibility for any motor trader. The lack of communication, accountability, and proper administration has caused unnecessary stress, inconvenience and financial penalty. I am now having to escalate the matter to DVLA Enforcement, Trading Standards, and legal advisers.
