Ring was as photographed and they communicated wonderfully. Felt secure and taken care of the whole way. Best part is how pretty the ring looks on my — now —wife’s hand!

Rita's Bazaar went above and beyond to…

Rita's Bazaar went above and beyond to make sure that I received an antique item that I desperately wanted. When it was finally available, I was promptly contacted and given the chance to view the item and purchase it. It was securely and safely wrapped and made it from London, UK to Florida, USA in pristine condition.

Wonderful experience

Wonderful experience! Tanya was most accommodating. I bought something on eBay in which the seller would not ship to me in the US. One text to Tanya and she had me ship it to her (in the UK) and she relayed it off to me. I have also had the same experience when I’ve purchased items from Rita’s Bazaar…great people!!!

Good Items for sale and Good Service

I was steered to Rita's Bazaar website after asking a question about an item advertised on another site .
I found the quality of the goods for sale in the bazaar was good and the prices were very competitive .
Having bought an item I was slightly confused as to how to pay but this was soon clarified and the item was sent very promptly .

Dishonest seller lied about condition of item

Buyer beware. This seller sold me an emerald and opal ring which had extensive and obvious damage. The seller didn't mention any of these flaws in the listing, and when I asked to confirm if there was any damage before purchasing the ring, she outright denied it. All the photographs of the ring were taken in a light and from certain angles so as to hide the damage. When I made contact, the seller took ages to respond. When she finally responded, she denied all knowledge and responsibility for it. She refused to refund me, instead offering an insultingly low 20 pounds reimbursement, which wouldn't even begin to scratch the surface of the cost of repairs. The seller also tried to persuade me to take a lifetime 15% discount for the next time I shop in her store - as if I would be inclined to do so after this disastrous and deceptive transaction. I asked that the seller compensate me for the cost of having the ring repaired - a fair suggestion. That's when the seller cut me off completely. Please beware of this seller. They were pleasant and accommodating right up until the point that I paid for the item. Then they didn't want to know I existed. This seller had the audacity to sell an item which had very clear signs of damage, while having the nerve to feign innocence about it. No matter what you are considering buying from this seller, and how much you may love the look of it, please, for your own good, avoid, avoid, avoid Rita's Bazaar.

MY REPLY TO THE SELLER’S RESPONSE:

Dear Tanya,

Not accepting returns in your store policy is understandable, if, in fact, the item being sold is exactly as advertised. Unfortunately you purposely chose to conceal significant defects to the item, while still denying my rightful request for a refund. This is just plain dishonest and indecent.

Not only do I not own own a microscope, but the damage to the gems is so obvious that it is clearly visible without one. Ironically, you do own a microscope, and one of the photos you supplied me was taken with a microscope from one part of the item - the part that was not damaged. What a strange coincidence. Trying to claim that I’m just some picky customer that expected too much just adds insult to injury, and is just another misstep in your terribly dishonest approach.

Lastly, PayPal decided the case in MY favour, not yours. Thankfully, I was awarded a full refund for the damaged item, since this was a very obvious case of deceptive and misleading advertising. PayPal even awarded me reimbursement for shipping charges, as they could clearly see that I was the victim in this case. Trying to claim publicly that the case was closed in your favour is just another lie from you. Simply disgusting.

Running a business should be done with honesty, transparency and integrity. You’ve told lie after lie to save face, and have fought tooth and nail to avoid taking responsibility as a business owner. All this does is reflect very poorly on you.

Since slipperiness, deception and denial of accountability seem your personal hallmarks, I would consider abandoning the antique goods business, and instead consider a career in politics, where those particular qualities would be welcomed. Even expected.

Shoppers - please be warned. Do not buy from this seller.

Regards,
Sara

Dear Sara,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Trustpilot. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us improve.

As a small, family-owned company, we strive to meet the highest customer satisfaction levels. Regarding the ring you purchased, we want to remind you that we resized it as a special exception, despite not usually offering this service. We also explicitly communicated that we would be unable to accept the ring in return since the alteration was so significant. You agreed to this condition before proceeding with your purchase.

When you reported the defects you discovered under a microscope, we promptly reviewed your concerns and offered a goodwill gesture of a partial refund. We work diligently to ensure our items meet high standards of quality, though we understand that different people may have different perspectives on what constitutes a defect.

We appreciate PayPal’s thorough investigation and their decision to close the case in our favor. We hope this reinforces the trust our future customers can place in our commitment to fairness and quality.

Thank you once again for your feedback. Should you wish to purchase another piece in the future, we would be happy to assist you under our standard terms and conditions.

Regards,
Tanya

All good. All fine. All satisfied.

I purchased a beautiful Stirling Silver sugar bowl from Rita’s the almost other worldly collection of fine and unusual items. The entire transaction from beginning to delivery was seamlessly executed. I most definitely recommend any and all to secure your interests in their collection of fine objects.

Lovely Company

So I contacted this lovely company with regards to some antique items that belonged to my parents. I was very cheeky and asked their advice which they gave freely, generously and even helped me prep photos to sell the items. What a genuinely nice, kind family company, they were so thoughtful and helpful with their advice and time and I cannot thank them enough. They definitely went above and beyond with their customer service and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them at some point in the future.
