This was a bad experience. Staff was fine but the car was a wreck! Said I would get a Peugeot 208 or similar and got a c3 that was smashed on multiple panels, engine light on, no air in tyres and a horrible noise from the transmission. I did not realise I was at rent a wreck!!!! Stay away and look elsewhere if you want a car that you are not embarrassed in.

Problems with the payment process and a two-hour wait.
After two months — and only after threatening to report them to the tax authorities — they finally refunded my €1800 deposit.
Never again.

Truly the worst car rental company in the history of car rental companies… rented a car in Florence for a week, staff member was rude, we were told to clean the car before we handed it back otherwise we would be charged for them to clean it… left out in the rain for ages while we waited for someone to come to the office to let us in! A charge of roughly £1600 was put on our credit card… seven weeks later the money hasn’t been returned and they still won’t reply to messages! …just to reiterate… DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
Don't expect deposit back …
The car was fine overall- quite damaged on outside and smelled of cigarette smoke inside.
The issue is the deposit. It simply doesn't get returned in a timely manner. It's been over 1 month and I have no return and have already had to pay the credit card bill. No response to emails.

I was invited by Ace car rentals at Naples airport to give a review.
In my opinion this is the worst car rental firm that my wife and I have ever encountered in the world, including previous visits to Italy.
After our experience with them we read some reviews. In all of the bad ones their answer from Ace, has always been the same, “Read the small print”! Well after getting up at 0200hrs in the morning and the stress of the airports, you arrive tired, hot and sweaty at the front of a queue and asked to read the small print!
You are pressurized into taking out their full insurance.
The staff are at best unhelpful.
Their documents are wrong with an incorrect telephone number, so you cannot contact them in an emergency.
They take over 12 hours to return an e-mail. (emergency?)
If you have an early flight out of Naples there is no early drop off, so you have to drop the car off a day early, and of course there is no refund. If you don’t drop the car off early, they tell you “To leave the car in the long stay carpark, of course you pay, and hide the key”. How do you feel about that?
If you are delayed there is a fine incurred.
Oh, and do not forget to read the small print!

Terrible experience. ACE is only a broker that reserved our car from RMI Autonoleggio through Booking.com — but this was not clear at all when booking. We paid online for what was shown as “full insurance,” but upon arrival we were told that this only covered the broker. At the rental desk we were forced to pay again for a completely new insurance directly with RMI. This is misleading, dishonest, and feels like a scam.
The car itself was in very poor condition and clearly neglected. Nobody came to pick us up from the airport as promised — we called both numbers provided, with no response, and had to walk there ourselves with luggage. Now, when returning the car, we’ve been waiting over 30 minutes for someone to appear and take us back to the airport.
Unprofessional, unreliable, and designed to trick people into paying twice. Avoid ACE, RMI, and this whole setup on Booking.com at all costs!

They are rude if you dare ask a question! They do not meet you in the lobby as described. They are so unhelpful if you need any assistance. They try and blame existing damage on you when you return the car. Very importantly.... They wrongfully take 1800 euros from your credit card (instead of just blocking the money) when you collect their car. It's taken 6 weeks to get our money back. They're con merchants at every turn. Another example, they are very relaxed about saying your car has 3 bars of fuel (not full as it said it would be... Surprise, surprise!) but when you take it back, they'll be trying to charge you a fine of 35 euros for not returning it full. They are crafty, deceitful, criminal even. Repeat, DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

SCAM AVOID. Fraud

**AVOID** scam. We made a booking through Qeeq (they’re fine), this company are not.
We collected the car, took 1 hour. We were asked 10+ times to take their insurance. We already had full Axa cover, and continued to tell them.
They said they put a hold on our card, they didn’t, they actually took €2,000.
Then said we had chipped the windscreen. We have a video that shows we didn’t. And returned the car perfectly.
They charged our card again, for an additional €700. Hung up on us, lied, told us different information.
Said we should have taken their insurance. Don’t touch them! Absolutely shameful. Should be illegal, they’ve literally stolen from us. Never experienced such a sham ever.
Bad company
We feel ripped off by this company. Of course it was our own fault that we forgot the credit card. Had booked the car online and paid via the credit card. The company could not think with us and still had to pay €700 for 7 days EXTRA. The fuel tank was empty. Had to immediately look for a gas station. The car was full of dents and parts were missing. Employee came across as unfriendly. The boss just hung around a bit disinterested. We will never rent a car here again.
Beware of hazzle and extra costs
RIM also known as ACE rental cars is an unserious business. They offer cars for very low price and their insurance is unresonable high. If you don't use their "insurance" they will fabricate problems with the car, try whatever they can come up with. There is no customer care what so ever. What was a minor scratch on the plastic wheel plate when we picked up the car was suddenly a major damage caused by us, charging 245€. His use of agreement is arbitrary. It was clear that this is the managers routine scam. Be aware that they will find something to charge you with if you don't buy their insurance.

Note: make sure you do take photos of all scratches and other defects of the car before you leave the company. They are checking the car quite good under delivery. Pictures before taking over the car saved me from extra cost.
GREAT EXPERIENCE
When I made my reservation it seemed too good to be true but it was all true. The girls at the reception desk explained everything clearly, in English (sorry I don't speak Italian) including what to expect on the Italian autostrada (where you pay for some with credit cards at toll booths and at others you pay after the fact online). A brand new Peugeot 3008 with automatic transmission and air conditioning. We had a wonderful vacation discovering Lake Como and all the beautiful sights to see. Bravo Discover Cars!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AS THEY HAVE A BLATENT DISREGARD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE INCLUDING SIGNIFICANT HIDDEN CHARGES THAT CANNOT BE DISPUTED
The following is an account of my experience at RIM car hire at Napoli Airport in August 2024
• The hire car agreement including 2no. phone numbers to call on arrival at the airport
• At least 10no. phone calls were made over a 30 minute period to the hire car company on arrival at the airport but were unanswered
• This meant I had to walk to the off-site hire car office, but on arrival I was directed back to the airport to find the courtesy mini-bus, which never materialised
• I then walked back to the hire car desk and on arrival, the signage was unclear to confirm that the location was correct
• The hire car company explained that the business uses an agency, both of which implement optional insurance charges, which I declined but was very confusing
• Unusually, the hire car company then explained that they would implement a 20 Euro charge if the car was returned unclean and that the car should be put through a car wash before being returned (implying that this refers to the external condition only). This is not mentioned in the hire car agreement. This charge would be implemented up front if chosen to avoid cleaning the car before return. I chose to decline this offer on the basis that I would put the car through a car wash
• This is in addition to the requirement to pay a 1,000 Euro deposit when signing for the car
• Following the return of the hire car, the car was inspected by staff. While the external condition of the car was accepted, the interior was stated as being unclean despite my diligence at cleaning the car inside and out, and that a 20 Euro charge would be levied against me
• I challenged this charge and stated that this was unacceptable. However, despite my challenge, the hire car company chose to follow through with charging my credit card without any opportunity to dispute this charge
• Throughout this process, the staff were unhelpful, rude, discourteous and unwilling to attempt to understand they were in the wrong, that conflicting information had been given and not interested in their own failings
• While they offered to escort me back to the airport, the minibus left the office empty without any explanation which the expectation that I walk to the airport terminal building
I cannot emphasise enough that you should not use this hire car company under any circumstances. They cannot be trusted to provide any form of customer service and will cost you additional charges at a moment’s notice which cannot be challenged
Good quick not expensive car hire
Really good. Quick and easy. We walked to the pick up point which is just across the road from the airport if you have to wait for a minibus transfer.
