Middle of the road for me on this one currently. I can see the benefits of it, but it would appear that you can only make 'delete data' requests via companies that are in a google or microsoft email... See more

Simple straightforward platform to…

Simple straightforward platform to enforce GDPR that may be slipping from some companies, positive approach and would recommend giving them a try, some things get lost in mailboxes!

I saw this on GB News and decided to check it out. So easy and helpful information. They quickly found over 200 companies that had my info and I was able to send delete requests to 54 that were unwanted. At last someone is fighting back against scammers.

It does work - but it isn't perfect

Firstly - let me start by saying a lot of negative reviews / opinions are from people who haven't used the platform. You can tell by the incorrect information they provide such as saying you shouldn't need to pay for the service (it's free) or that card details have been stolen (again - no cards are registered).

I used the platform around 2 days ago as I have had my email address for many years, and I'm spammed with so many emails from brands I haven't used in forever. I used to work for a training provided that was Government funded, and a lot of people used to say we were a scam company that harvested data without ever using us (we weren't) just because they didn't have to pay for the courses. So I took the reviews with a pinch of salt and registered to see for myself.

I did run into the first problem whilst scanning my emails, as it kept on saying an error had occurred and would stop scanning even when I refreshed. I got passed this by clicking to the next stage before the error occurred, at around 70 companies found (I've emailed support to help with this error and will update as I believe there are many more I could delete).

The companies that came up were all from my emails, and I went on to click which ones I wanted to request removal of. Don't worry about it sending to all of them if you choose the automatic route, you can still decide before it goes out.

The email was sent across from my own email (not Rightly - as some businesses are stating), so most companies were happy with that and went on to delete my account. There were a few however that wanted me to click a link to manually unsubscribe by submitting my name and email onto a form (feel like this is unnecessary and for these I could have done it without the platform). And one (FunkyPigeon) wanted a postcode to prove it was me.

Overall, the process was really simple and around 80% have already deleted my account which I think is amazing as it hasn't even been that long. Looks like companies are starting to take it much more serious!

A first experience

rather easy to manage for a first use.
I would have expected the possibility to capitalize on several email sites.
