Very poorly made

£9.99 T shirt I bought was cheap fabric very badly made. Paid £4.99 delivery. Cost me £19.35 with tax and insurance added that I had no idea of. It hangs like an out of shape rag. My own fault, lesson learned but disappointing.

Absolutely disgraceful place

Absolutely disgraceful place. As a insider of only 3 weeks the management is shocking and extremely narcissistic. Numerous stories of not paying his employees properly and unfortunately i fell victim to this selfishness, nothing else matters as long as the owner (matt) is getting money in his pocket. The quality control and customer service is extremely terrible but that doesn't matter as long as he's getting money... do not waste your time by buying anything from this place, even if you was to receive somthing only just usable the back log is 9 months.... never in my life time known anything like it! Surprised the "company" is still standing.

We contacted Retro Corner a few months…

We contacted Retro Corner a few months ago to tell them one of the panels on our table had started to rot, sending photos to show clearly the problem. We've never heard back from them. Extremely disappointing, and we are now trying to treat it ourselves otherwise the table will soon be completely unusable.

Avoid at all costs

On the 25th of March I ordered a dining table paying upfront. I was told to expect a lead time of 6-8 weeks for the build and up to 2 weeks for delivery. I finally received the table after 12 weeks and 6 days.

I received zero communication throughout the entire process. Only after calling numerous times was I told first that the table would take the maximum lead time. Once this passed and I chased again I was told that they would be in touch with a delivery date. After 1 week and again zero contact from RCC I was given a delivery date. This delivery date was not achieved and again zero contact to let me know.

I had taken the day off work to ensure I was in the house. Yet again this delivery date was not achieved and no call to let me know. After calling up again I was told to expect the table on Friday between 9 am and 1pm. The table finally arrived on Friday the 23rd of June at 4:30 pm.

Throughout the whole process I was told that RCC had either tried to call or email me however I had no missed calls and no emails so were blatantly lying. I was planning on ordering a matching desk but after what has to be the worst customer service I’ve ever received I will not be doing so.

I usually don’t bother to complain and post reviews however I feel so strongly about this complaint that i felt i must warn others to avoid!

Unbelievably poor quality of craftsmanship and service

Appalling service. Still waiting for a table we ordered in JANUARY to be fixed. First it was 6 weeks late to be delivered, then the wood for the table top was not seasoned so it all warped. They repeatedly did not answer messages, finally in OCTOBER sent a new table top, but of course the metal frame had been warped so still very wobbly. Now its taking a month and even MORE emails to send feet adjusters that we accepted instead of a new frame. Unbelievably frustrating

4 months and counting for order.

Absolute cowboys. Our companies experience has been so bad its laughable. We ordered some benches 4 months ago and they still have not arrived despite them being paid for upfront. As with other reviews repeated lack of communication. We are currently in the process of legal proceedings to recover our money. Avoid.

DREADFUL SERVICE, MANY WEEKS LATE, TABLE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

So, after much waiting and chasing, the long and eagerly awaited table finally arrived yesterday, a mere 7 weeks late, what can I say...
I think the pictures speak for themselves, sadly unable to post them on here, we have sent them to RCC but as yet, despite chasing again today, no response, but there is no great shock there as communication hasn't been their strong point, neither is adhering to quoted lead time or delivering a quality item of bespoke furniture as paid for. With just a little care, this table could have been lovely, but what we have received is not fit for purpose.

It would be great to hear from someone in the company to see how this can be resolved.

Extremely disappointed,

House Revolution

Awful: Now trading as RCC LTD

Wobbly table. When challenged they claimed our floor was uneven.

The surface of the table is too uneven for plates to be put on it.

Sent plastic legs. One has now broken. No sign of a replacement.

It looks good but it is not fit for purpose as a table.

twenty thumbs down

I agree with everyone before me.

Table was many many weeks late. Most people, including me, are flexible with these things but if you give an estimate give an appropriate one. if you tend to be many weeks late every time, add a month to every estimate.

If the table had been even 2 weeks late, we could have picked it up and driven it home ourselves, for free.

No, we had to pay for their courier (the delivery men were very pleasant and helpful).

After I took time off work to wait for it to arrive, it was the wrong order. The legs were not painted the colour I requested (not painted at all). When I called to explain I was told to review the invoice I was sent. I never received any invoice. The table was ordered by email and clearly in writing it says: blue legs.

I haven't had a chance to look at the table-- perhaps it is very lovely-- but customer service wise this company needs serious help. They've been defensive, rude, dismissive and seemingly totally unconcerned with a happy customer.

I supported them because I'd rather give my money to small companies. But in this case, the experience has been worse than even John Lewis who are renown for their mistakes and poor customer service.

Excellent from start to finish!!

I ordered a table and benches from this Company and called for information and they could not have been more helpful with the information provided to help me make the right choice. On ordering I was advised that everything was made to order so it could take up to 6-8 weeks and then they would arrange delivery. After 5 weeks I received a call from their courier to advise the order was ready and had been collected and was delivered by a lovely helpful driver who assisted me to put it in place. The reclaimed look is brilliant and all my friends love it! Thanks so much for everything - I would recommend you to anyone - the goods are worth waiting for!

Big cost for a load of Rubbish...!!

I ordered a table and bench from retrocorner to my spec. it came 2/3 weeks late which I don't mind as it's a table for life ??? supposedly.

When it arrived two of the protection feet had been broken, it was absolutely filthy.... I mean this is a dining table and its was covered in swarf and black saw dust. So I replaced the feet and scrubbed the table...
Only to discover that retrocorner (Matt) had already compounded the problem as he applied our desired finish of danish oil.... Straight on top of this filthy table basically sealing in all his poor work-manship. You can literally see all the bits of saw dust, swarf and just utter dirt trapped under the surface. As its oil sealed its near on impossible to remove unless its sanded right back. There are gaps in-between the planks and none of the edges are sanded off. All the planks should be bonded as one and the grain laid in opposite directions to avoid the wood bowing and twisting. This was also not done and its because of this that the table is now starting to twist. I have felt compelled to write my first ever review due to the sheer poor quality of the workmanship and the amount of work I will now have to endure to make this table right. Please save yourselves disappointment and heart ache. I only wish I knew where this could be posted to be readily available for reading for their future potential customers.
I have not contacted retrocorner on this issue because I know I will get nowhere.

Do not buy furniture from this vendor!

I wish being weeks late in delivery time was the only issue. Bought a table and bench, absolutely awful quality. You can find better quality table in an average park. Both the table and bench not even close to being level. Extremely wobbly to the point that’s not even useable. The vendor tried to say it was because our floors are not level, but when you turn over it is clearly visible how poor the quality is, with one leg higher than the other. Poor welding job as well.

Upon arrival furniture was filthy, to the point that if you touched it your hands would turn black. After removing layers of dirt, noted that the table was scratched, chipped not properly sanded or stained. Table was not wrapped or tied down during delivery.

When we asked the vendor to replace or give us a full refund, we refused. The good rating noted above is from the owner of the Company. Horrible customer service, quality, and overall experience.
Tiring to get a refund, but owner will not return calls or e-mails. Not sure it’s a legitimate business, stay away!!!

Exercise extreme caution!

I ordered a bespoke tv stand to agreed specification. Alarm bells started ringing when I was asked to transfer money directly into his bank account. I refused and asked to pay by paypal for buyer protection.

I was originally quoted 3-4 weeks for delivery, but when I paid I was told it was more like 8 weeks. Finally, after 10 weeks I was told that my item was ready. However, I was then fed some nonsense about his courier changing their delivery parameters and that I would have to source delivery myself. I refused because I wanted the right to refuse delivery should the item not be right. By this time I had such little faith in his ability to produce the correct item that I asked him again to check the dimensions and diagram that we agreed on an to cancel the order if it wasn't right. I didn't get a response so assumed it was correct.

The following week, a man in a white van arrived with the item. I told him I needed to check the measurements quickly as I was almost certain it would be wrong. Sure enough, the shelf which I had stipulated to be 20cm in height was less than 10cm, making it useless to me. I refused delivery and sent the man on his way.

I emailed the seller immediately and demanded a refund. He ignored my email. I waited for a few days and emailed again. He said that he was waiting for the item to be returned to him. I replied to tell him that I didn't have to wait for his item to be returned. he ignored my email. I followed up with an email threatening to raise a claim with paypal if he did not refund immediately. He continued to delay, promising a refund and then not delivering. I had to wait 11 days from the day of refusing delivery to get my money back, chasing him continually.

Making furniture is one thing, but running a business in another. This was the worst example of customer service I have ever experience. He failed miserably to provide what i had paid for and then failed at making things right afterwards.

In my opinion, this retailer is not trustworthy. Buy at your peril but DO NOT put money directly into his account.
