Please Review ResumeBird’s Renewal and Refund Terms Before Subscribing
Please review ResumeBird’s automatic renewal, cancellation, and refund terms carefully before using the service.
I used ResumeBird for a temporary document-related task and signed up for the free trial. I entered my payment information as part of the trial process, but I did not intend to continue using the service as a paid subscription.
After the free trial ended, I was automatically charged KRW 59,000 on September 6, 2026 for the subscription.
After noticing the charge, I contacted customer support to request both cancellation of my subscription and a refund. My subscription was subsequently canceled, and I received confirmation that I would not be charged again. However, my refund request was not approved.
I then asked whether a partial refund reflecting the unused portion of the subscription could be considered if a full refund was not possible. I also explained that I had not intended to continue the paid subscription and asked whether my case could be reviewed as a one-time exception.
Ultimately, ResumeBird informed me that its refund policy applies to renewed subscriptions and that they were unable to process a refund once the subscription had renewed. In my case, neither the full refund nor the partial refund I requested was approved.
One aspect of the experience that I found disappointing was the customer support process. The responses I received focused primarily on the fact that I had entered my payment information when signing up and on the automatic-renewal and refund terms.
I understood that these policies existed. What I was trying to find out was whether my individual circumstances could be considered as an exception. I understand that policies need to be applied consistently, but I would have appreciated a little more flexibility in considering my individual circumstances.
I received a response approximately four days after my initial email. During that time, I was uncertain about the status of both my cancellation and refund request, which I personally found stressful.
I also found the cancellation process somewhat inconvenient. In my experience, I did not see an immediate self-service cancellation option within my account, so I contacted customer support by email and waited for confirmation that the cancellation had been completed.
Because the service automatically converts from a free trial to a paid subscription, I recommend that anyone considering ResumeBird carefully check the renewal date, refund terms, and cancellation process before entering payment information.
I recognize that I entered my payment information during the trial and that ResumeBird has its own subscription and refund policies. However, after asking about both a one-time exception and a partial refund and not receiving the resolution I had hoped for, I was ultimately disappointed with the overall refund and cancellation experience.
Because of this experience, I do not plan to use ResumeBird again or recommend it to people I know.
I am sharing my experience so that other users can make an informed decision before subscribing. If you use the free trial, I recommend setting your own reminder before the renewal date and checking your subscription status before the trial ends.
Most importantly, do not assume that a renewal will necessarily be refundable. In my case, both my full-refund request and my request for a partial refund were declined.
