Last time I shop here!

Over the past 20 years I've spent many many thousands of pounds at this Brighton institution. Last year for a landmark birthday I got loads of vouchers so havend had to pay for records for ages - till today. Only to be told they no longer accept cash.
Sorry but thats the last time I shop here. This decline of shops into dictating how we spend our money must stop. Every electronic transaction just pumps money into Visa/Mastercard/Amex etc. No wonder our economy is going bankrupt

I would like to express my sincere…

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team at this store.

Earlier in July, I visited Brighton for a two-day work-related staff event. During my stay, I purchased a limited-edition vinyl record by The Fugees.

Unfortunately, upon returning home two days later, I discovered that the album was missing one of the two vinyls, despite being sealed in its original packaging.

I immediately reached out to the customer service team, and Phoebe was incredibly helpful and responsive. She arranged for a brand-new replacement vinyl to be sent out and also ensured that my return postage costs were fully refunded.

As a retail manager myself, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and efficiency with which the issue was handled. The level of customer service provided was truly exceptional.

I look forward to returning to Brighton next year and making more vinyl purchases from the store. It’s a pleasure to support a business that prioritises excellent service and customer satisfaction

No information on out of stock item

They don't let you now that an item is out of stock when you order and then they cancel the order a week later because they can't get the stock.
Very disappointed as ordered as a birthday present

Awful website, stock record!

Yet again ordering online is a nightmare. It’s says it’s in stock online then you order it and it’s not. You get a email saying in touch with our supplier and later an email saying unavailable and then a wait for your refund. Happened 3 times now. I wouldn’t mind but they take your money quick enough. Some places don’t take your money until available but also have a great stock record. This lot should get their act together. Lovely people in shop itself and great to browse in but nothing I look for in shop that’s online is available there it seems.

Pleasure to deal with online

Excellent friendly service. Will definitely remember them for the future. Special mentions to Phoebe and Dan.

Found a CD bargain I'd been hunting for (and was let down by another shop). Last in stock, but they put it aside while I ordered. Dispatched promptly and arrived safely in fully recyclable packaging :)

Great Record Store

Signed book pre-order arrived on release date, and was packaged well.

Having bought online from Resident before, I can vouch for their brilliant service and communication.

I QUOTE VERBATIM WHAT THE 'STAFF' HAD…

I QUOTE VERBATIM WHAT THE 'STAFF' HAD TO SAY WHEN I ASKED IF THEY WOULD TAKE FLYERS & MAYBE PUT A POSTER UP FOR A FORTHCOMING EVENT "We don't put out or up anything we are not directly involved in" - right - so supportive of local music & artists then. Just so "inclusive" in this "City of Inclusion". Unbelievable, almost verging on "I'm alright Jack" Capatalist Fascism. I have had my records stocked by this so called company, they have made profit from my creativity, I have also spent good money on vinyl in their shop - You'd think in these times of great financial difficulty that any business would welcome footfall let alone paying customers but not Resident - they're alright. So you don't need to shop there any more, as they've got enough. Very strange attitude, and philosophy for what's supposed to be a leading local business - let's be a. Exclusive & b. Behave in a manner that is completely unsupportive of any local music unless we can make a buck out of it.

A decent shop with a good selection…

A decent shop with a good selection however marred by three things. Whenever you are browsing you can guarantee that an employee will appear next to you and theatrically shuffle the display in an irritating fashion and disappointingly they stock records from crappy labels Like Doxy and Waxtime etc that are rubbish and in a desperate attempt to appear edgy they usually play obscure terrible music that usually makes a long stay impossible.

A Well Run, Fantastic Shop.

I've been using Resident Records for years now both in store & on-line.
The shop has a fantastic range of stock & the staff are knowledgeable & polite.
There's also loads of bargains to be had, it really is a pleasure to visit.
Shame there's not more stores like it these days across the country.

Having moved away from Brighton I find myself using their online service more often. It's quick & efficient.
