Booked car in Naples airport from…

Booked car in Naples airport from Compact segment and got car from Subcompact segment which is much smaller and in our case with small child made massive difference also without any screen wash in. Looking for shuttle pickup point for ages in 31 degrees heat with 2 years old child and big luggage as no any signs, directions or driver waiting outside the terminal. Ok experience but wouldn't use again.

There is a reason that 1/3 of their reviews are ONE star

There is a reason that 1/3 of their reviews are a 1 star rating. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!! I Rented from CAG airport in Sardinia. The woman who helped me was rude and unfriendly. Their office is located in the parking garage and not in terminal as they advertise. They just give you the keys and tell you to go find your car on the roof of the garage. Unlike normal rental car companies they don’t inspect the car with you at pick up or drop off and this is intentional so that they can try to scam you afterwards . After I returned my car they emailed me the next day to say I damaged the car because of a tiny scratch on bumper and billed me over 200 euros. Luckily I had time stamped picture to show they were lying and they were forced to issue me a refund.

I took over a car whose fuel tank was not full. For over 20 years I have been going to my car when it is necessary to refuel according to the displayed range. I did the same now, but I brought the car back with a higher fuel range than when I took it over. The company employee (Chiara?) told me that I brought it with less fuel, she did not specify how much, she did not want a dialogue (we can fill in the possible shortage), she treated me with arrogance and although I spoke to her civilly, wanting clarification, she threatened me when I told her that I would complain to her and that she would call the police if I did not leave the company's premises immediately. BEWARE OF THE RENTAL PLUS BARI COMPANY.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not checking the reviews for this agency before of renting a car at the airport of BARI, and it’s somewhat reassuring to see I’m not the only one they tried to scam. Let me explain more clearly:

• When picking up the car (with Ms. Ilenia), they changed the contractual terms (in my case, initially agreed through DiscoverCars, whom I’ve already informed). In fact, this is the only rental company in the world where you're required to return the car clean (!!!), so they tried to charge me an extra €25, which was not part of the agreement.

• When returning the vehicle (with Ms. Pamela), they tried every possible way to find damage on the car — even existing ones. In three cases, they had outdated photos of the vehicle and attempted to blame me for things I didn’t do. Luckily, I had taken all the necessary photos as proof.

DO NOT TRUST THEM AND BOOK ELSEWHERE — THIS AGENCY IS UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE.

Seamless Car Rental Experience with Rental Plus

We had a great experience renting a car with Rental Plus. Pick-up was smooth at Alghero Airport and drop-off in Olbia was just as easy. Everything was clear and straightforward—no hidden fees or surprises, which we really appreciated. The man helping us in Alghero couldn't have been nicer.

One thing to keep in mind: the car needs to be returned clean. This was highlighted to us when we picked up the car. Near Olbia, we found a convenient self-serve car wash and for around 10 EUR, we were able to clean the car thoroughly ourselves.

Highly recommend Rental Plus for a stress-free rental in Sardinia.

Flawless rental experience in Catania

It was a flawless rental experience in Catania. The woman at the front desk was so helpful. They were completely ok with my external insurance and gave me all the important details about the process. Fast, efficient, and affordable. The car was super clean. Returning the car was also so incredibly smooth. No issues at all. highly recommended.

Hidden fees and rude staff – avoid Rentalplus

Rented a car in Sardinia with Rentalplus — never again. Charged €12 + VAT at pickup in Olbia for a surprise “car wash” fee (listed as 037__EASYRETURN). Returned the car in Cagliari, staff were rude and unhelpful. Later got billed another €20 + VAT for “dust on the floor mat” — money was taken from my deposit without response to my complaint. Unprofessional and dishonest service.

Rember to go through the car in every…

Rember to go through the car in every detail at pick up, and take pictures. I was not through enough, that ended up being expensive.
The person only looked at one side of the car and not at all the other. My bet is that I was not the first one to pay for the small damage at the rim

we will never use Rental Plus again

We rented a car in Cagliari from Rental Plus via the DiscoverCars platform. We originally booked a Volkswagen T-Roc, but were given a Jeep Avenger instead — which was fine with us.

First of all, the rental office is not located inside the airport building, but in a separate location nearby. When we arrived, there was no one at the counter, and we had to wait for the only staff member to return. He handles both car pickups and returns, so plan extra time if you have a tight schedule.

As for the car itself — no complaints. It was new and in good condition.
However, I do have serious complaints about the rental company:

As mentioned in other reviews, you are expected to wash the car — both inside and out — before returning it. This is extremely inconvenient if you're a foreigner in an unfamiliar area, especially right before a flight when time is tight. In my opinion, cleaning should be included in the rental fee — this shouldn't be the customer's responsibility.

A much bigger issue was a 4 cm scratch that supposedly appeared on the car. We were charged €360 for it! Seriously?

Here’s what happened: When we picked up the car, we didn’t notice any scratches. But later during the rental, we noticed a 4 cm scratch on the rear door in a very odd location — we have no idea how it could have happened. Now, we suspect it may have been intentionally covered up beforehand to charge us later.

When we returned the car, Rental Plus filed a damage report and told us to wait for an email regarding the charge. About an hour later, we received an email saying we would be charged €360.
Let’s be honest: €360 is the cost of repainting the entire door. There’s no way a small scratch like this justifies such a cost — a simple polish should do.

We had purchased full insurance, but it turns out we still had to pay the €360 upfront and now need to go through DiscoverCars to try and get reimbursed. I will update this review once we know if we get the money back.

In any case, we will never use Rental Plus again.

Stay away

Don't don't dont
Keep away or will ruin your holiday...
Not responsible at all left me and my family without a car, late at night... no response... when they pick up the phone on the next day.they automatically cancelled our booking even when we had already paid in full,no money back also.
I give 1 star because 0 isn't a option

Extra fuel charged in spite of evidence

Rental Plus charged me for fuel upon check in although I returned the car with the same fuel level. In spite of sending evidence of fuel level of start/end of rental period Rental Plus has not reimbursed. Very disappointing experience.

Absolute Scam

Do not recommend at all!

Hired from Rome Fiumicino.

Booked approx 4 weeks in advance, paid the slightly higher price for an automatic VW polo (or similar), agreed pick up time of 1pm and even provided flight details in case they needed to check.

Arrived on time, was swiftly told that the vehicle I requested wouldn’t be available until 6pm?!? But available now I could have a manual Fiat Panda…

Not even close to similar standard and also being a manual. Had no choice but to take that vehicle as waiting 5 hours is total piss take. No offer of a price reduction either.

Was asked if I wanted insurance, told them I had already paid for it and the assistant said it wasn’t showing on my booking. Fortunately I’d printed off my booking which showed I’d paid for it.

Car wasn’t clean, seats had stains, footwells dirty and still had receipts in from previous hirer. Was told fuel tank was full and should be returned full (was only half full so took a photo for evidence).

Upon returning my car they tried to charge for damages but fortunately I had the video for evidence when I first hired the car. Also said about a cleaning charge which also thankfully I had evidence to show the car was not clean upon collection in the first place.

Just overall such a poor company and experience. God forbid if you had to make a claim as I feel like they would take you for everything they could!

BERGAMO long weekend

We rented in BERGAMO and it was seamless. The flight arrived early and they came and picked us up. We wanted to stay a little longer and they said no problem for a small charge. I didn’t mind. Communication was fast and easy using WhatsApp. Would recommend and use them again. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

Avoid RentalPlus!

I hired a car for a week via Carflexi.com (who it turned out were representing RentalPlus). I arranged to pick it up from Naples airport, have it for a week, then drop it back. The price seemed extremely reasonable for a week's hire, £66.51, but I thought there will probably be insurance to pay at the other end and I knew there would be a 500 euro returnable deposit. CarFlexi had some good reviews so I trusted them. They sent me a booking voucher, which said the car would be provided by RentalPlus. On arriving at Naples airport there was no desk for RentalPlus. I learned that they were not based at the airport, they were a ten-minute drive away and we needed to get there by shuttle bus. Had I known that, I would have gone elsewhere. Anyway, it was impossible to find the meeting point. I phoned RentalPlus several times but their level of English was poor. We asked loads of people who all gave us different directions. It took us an hour to find the meeting point and we were exhausted. When we got to RentalPlus, which is tucked away at the back of a car park in Naples, they were in the middle of trying to placate another group of customers who had turned up to find that the car they had reserved had been replaced with a different, unacceptable one. They refused it and were told they'd have to come back by taxi later that night to pick up a different vehicle (again, not the one they had ordered but a better option). Okay, not related to our case, but it didn't bode well. They had a Fiat Panda manual car ready for us, which was fine, but asked me to pay for the car hire. I said I've already paid online, and he said no, that was the other agent's commission! Carflexi didn't make this clear online at all. So I had to pay another £86 for the actual hire of the vehicle! Then he gave me the key with no instructions and no discussion about insurance. I asked him if there's an excess and what about insurance and he said, 'Well you have your own insurance, don't you?' I said no. So then he offered me the insurance, at a vastly inflated price. On top, he said if I didn't wash the car when I returned it, there would be a 12 euro charge. And I must return it with a full tank of petrol (that bit I expected). They ended up charging me £330.21 on top of the £66.51 'commission' to Carflexi, which, on my bank statement, clearly says 'Car Hire from Carflexi', not 'agent commission'. So a total just under £400 for a week's car hire. I almost arranged excess insurance before I flew out, but decided not to because in the past I've paid at the car collection point and, although more expensive, it wasn't astronomical like on this occasion. The thing is, Carflexi did not tell me that the booking would go through RentalPlus until after I had booked and paid their commission. Had they done so, I would have looked up their reviews (which are terrible) and not gone there. Anyway, the man at RentalPlus also gave me no address for where we were in order to find it through our satnav when returning the car. Luckily I thought of it and asked him. He highlighted one of the addresses on the paperwork. BUT, on returning the car a week later, our satnav took us to the wrong place. Again, the staff were absolutely useless on the phone, their English was poor and they swore there was only one Via Del Riposo in Naples. But there were TWO and we ended up in the wrong one. We ended up stuck in a tiny side street with a market going on, surrounded by irate Italian drivers hooting the hell out of us. By the time we found RentalPlus we were seriously late. We just missed their shuttle. They told us it would be back in only ten minutes, but 25 minutes later I made a fuss and they phoned the driver, who said he had been caught in traffic and would be there in five minutes. But he wasn't. So we ended up calling a taxi because the staff at RentalPlus 'are not allowed to drop us to the airport themselves'. When the taxi driver dropped us off, his meter said 5.68 euros but he demanded 15 euros. And we later found out that you can WALK to the airport from RentalPlus in fifteen minutes, but no one told us while we were waiting and panicking. And by the way, while we were handing back the Fiat to RentalPlus, the whole time they were having a long argument with another irate customer about their extortionate charges. My view on this? Don't go through a third-party agent like Carflexi. Go direct to a reputable car hire firm. And stay the hell clear of RentalPlus. RentalPlus are a really bad car rental firm. I've used loads in the past but these are absolutely the worst.

Awful experience. Terrible rip off company

Awful experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our flight was a little delayed and they gave our car away after one hour. Then charged us 300 for another car on top of the 160 we already paid. Went against their own policy that states they charge 61 euros for late arrival. Refused to discuss in the car hire office. No contact number to resolve. Terrible company.

Trumped up damage to make you pay extra

They rented me a car with a large amount off scratches and dents, of which only one was mention of the damage form. I reported all off them (10+), but when returning the car they managed to find and almost (hence missed by me) invisible one and they charged me for it. This is an obvious scam to extract a bit more money.
